She started with a stencil on the back of my hand, that part turned out the best, though it still didn't fully match the photo I brought. When I asked her to continue the design onto my fingers to match the reference, the front desk assistant pulled out several stencils to try to match it, but none of them looked right. The artist ended up freehanding the fingers while referencing my photo, but the lines came out thick and shaky instead of the fine, clean detail in the picture. I noticed the henna paste itself was drying out as she was applying it, which didn't help. I pointed out the unevenness and asked her to fix it more than once, but the fixes still didn't match the quality of the reference. Henna is $15, so I wanted my money's worth and asked for the full design to be completed rather than just the hand portion -- I don't think that was unreasonable. To make it worse, it's now been two days and the henna is already fading noticeably, which shouldn't happen this soon with a proper application. Overall: 4/10 experience. If a shop offers a service, they should be confident they can deliver it -- otherwise it's a waste of the customer's time and money, and now I'm stuck waiting for a design that honestly looks like it was done by a child to fade off my hand. I wouldn't recommend coming here for henna.

She cleaned my skin with rubbing alcohol, applied wax to my right underarm, and then left the wax sitting there while she moved on to start my Brazilian. The wax was being left on my skin for several minutes at a time and STILL was not setting properly. Removal was extremely painful. Maria repeatedly apologized throughout the service and seemed unprepared. She also did not have a fan available to help the wax set. At that point, I could already tell that the service was going horribly, so I told her I no longer wanted to proceed with the full-body wax and would only do my underarms and Brazilian. Even after limiting the service, I left with hair still remaining on my Brazilian. Then, after everything that happened, she attempted to charge me $80. I was honestly shocked. The service was painful, the wax was not setting properly, I had to change my original service because I no longer felt comfortable proceeding with a full-body wax, and my Brazilian still was not completed properly. I really wanted to find a waxing location closer to home since I recently moved to Duluth, but this experience made that decision for me. It seemed like she just wanted to get the whole haircut thing over with without caring about what the end result was. She cut for 30 minutes, taking away 9 months of growth. I asked for a small trim, some texture, and showed a reference of how it was supposed to be like. She damaged my hair, and turned me into a spiky raccoon.
