Cotati based Smart 72 came and did a whole overhaul. Removed an old freon based minisplit and a Samsung home heating central dual intake system in a day, placed 5 new heaters all in a few days while I was at work. Set up a phone control system to get these working from both the thermostat and the app to have them set to temps based on where the thermostat is for each separate unit. Really had it set up in a weeks work and done. I still need to drywall the old central heat cents and restart the main thermostat to be able to manually control it so update to come but all so far is 5 star. read more

Cory came out to my home on a service call has our furnace was blowing cold air. I had two other calls from a local HVBAC company here in Napa and spent $300 trying to solve the issue with the cold air. Cory suggested we look at our thermostat as the blower was running non stop. We have a smart system that when we downloaded a new software program for some reason switched or fan to on instead of auto. Price to repair and get our furnace running ZERO. The other company said we should consider a new furnace!! They have a customer for life and also have a service plan for $20 a month top upkeep your system which I believe would add to the life of our system. We've had so many challenges with Smart 72 (CotPromises, promises promises, but no delivery! We have a split system (AC / heating that needed repair. The mother board was fried & that needed to be replaced. Once that got replaced we needed to have the system tested & that took another month until we could get someone out to complete. Then a fix was determined from the test & can't seem to get a technician scheduled to do the work. We are in to this now $3,800 & still no REPAIR done! Meanwhile we are using space heaters. If I could talk to a manager I would but the call center just says "sorry for the delay,.... Sorry our scheduling dept dropped the ball" Sorry, Sorry, sorry doesn't fix my unit & not a great way to do business! I reached out to Smart 72 in August 2022 when we were experiencing problems with our split AC/Heating system. Bianca arrived the next day and sold us an annual maintenance plan as we had several systems on our property, we thought this would be useful. I really wanted to give Smart 72 five stars and tell everyone how great they are but we have been extremely patient and disappointed! Over the course of the next 8 months we had service calls that were "no shows", incorrect parts ordered (delaying our project), & used parts that showed up with our technician (unable to be installed). At one point a technician had installed a part incorrectly which caused our system to arch (& it was smoking and could have caused a house fire!). We have paid @ $4,000 to this company and our system is still not repaired! Now we are being told that all of the employees quit in the North Bay & that things are being managed from San Luis Obispo!?! All we want is a system that works! We recently had Smart72 install AC into our home and from the 1st consult to the end of installation, it was a smooth process. The service and communication was top notch. JP made sure we were in the loop every step of the way. We had AC added to our existing heating system and our installer Garrett noticed that our heating was not set correctly and adjusted it for us at no additional cost. He says that it should save us on our gas portion of our PG&E bill come winter. But for now, when the temp creeps up, we are cool and comfy with our new AC. Smart 72 sent technician Bailey to assess our furnace issues. Bailey performed a thorough assessment and determined we needed to upgrade our capacitor. Bailey replaced the capacitor and restarted the furnace... system was up and running fine. In addition to our initial service request, I asked Bailey if he could look at our duct system. He not only checked the ducts, but gave us a detailed quote for replacing the system! A little to smart for me! I submitted a home warranty claim and Smart 72 was the chosen vendor. Very nice technician cam to inspect the faulty furnace and decided it needed to be replaced. The insurance company promptly shipped them a $14,000 furnace. One day before the installation date Smart 72 sends a text to my wife saying that their contract with the Insurance company was ended!!! Not a single phone call. The decent thing to do would have been to honor the existing claim. Now they have to ship the furnace to a new vendor that the insurance company will select. Like many of these reviews, my first experience with the company was actually very good. The technician seemed quite knowledgeable, very helpful and very pleasant. Of course, I bought the maintenance plan for a year and had an appointment scheduled for a maintenance call. Never happened, called 5 times and they only thing that happened was that they took my contact information 5 times within 24 hours. Every person I talked to said they did not have access to the schedule, there was no direct phone number that I could reach dispatch and someone would call me back. This is defineately a SCAM, SCAM, SCAM - I recommend that you run as far away from these people as you can. I called about 20 different companies in our area trying to find one that would work with pre-owned equipment. In my search, I found only smart72 and two other companies that would complete the job since we already had purchased the split. We needed heating and cooling to be installed in the rooms of our house with three splits. Not only did I get one on one time with the owners to discuss the quote- but one of them even came over to consult with us about our wants and what was possible with what we had already purchased. Not only did they troubleshoot, but resolved an issue the other two companies didn't discover- no crawl space where we needed a unit to be installed! We were able to get on their schedule in a reasonable amount of time, they even called to see if we wanted the job done sooner since they had another job finish early- impressive! They ended up installing three splits and one wall unit for the no access room within two days and the work looks seamless. They are one of the best HVAC companies I have ever worked with and as a facilities manager for a multi-site statewide company, I have worked with MANY. I was replacing TWO ancient furnaces and adding A/C into a duplex and the cost estimates I received from multiple vendors came in very high. After seeing Smart72 at the County Fair, I decided to give them a shot and I am so glad that I did. The ENTIRE crew from start to finish were spectacular. The estimator was informative and took her time going over all the options and energy efficiencies with me--when I explained that I was going to have to put off the replacement for another year in order to save enough $ for the job she asked what my budget was and moved heaven and earth to make it so that we could start the install right away. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate for A/C install for June 23. They gave me a 5 hour appointment window when the other companies I contacted gave 2 hour windows. I waited the entire 5 hours and nobody showed up or contacted me to let me know they weren't coming. I went to the "contact" section of their website and let them know what had happened and asked them to contact me by email. On June 29 (6 days later) I received a phone call message saying that they saw my appointment had been cancelled and to call them if I wanted to reschedule. When I called and explained that I had not cancelled my appointment they claimed that they no longer service my area even though I live 10 minutes from their Cotati location, am listed in their service area on their webpage, and frequently see their vans gassing up 5 minutes from my house. When I again mentioned that I was never contacted about a cancelled appointment (but did receive an email confirming my appointment) she said they should have notified me.
