Any of the Smart & Finals that I have been to thruout the years has always been a great visit for me. None the less this time. I was in the area and needed to do some shopping for our house. Walked in this morning around 10AM and was greeted by the security guard at the door. Customer service is always above and beyond my expectations. Ambiance is very cool, chill and they always have everything in stock. Store is clean and well organized.. They have 2 gender neutral restrooms, parking lot is shared with other businesses, and it is a very BIG store. Aisles are easy to navigate and not congested at all.They have everything from paper goods, fresh produce, to household items, flowers, to dairy products, deli, fresh meats/poultry, sodas, sports drinks all the way to juices of every kind/flavor. Abundant sections/selections of frozen foods, to ready made sandwiches, gift cards, baking goods, alcohol, magazines, whole large aisles of candy and more..open long hours for everybody's convenience. On today's visit I bought 4 red onions,2 Progresso soups, on sale.( 2 for $5.00), dozen eggs, Russian rye bread, cookies, croissants, apple juice and few paper goods items. Also bought couple of candies. Smart & Final is a non membership warehouse grocery store, and sells most of their stuff in bulks. They do catering, and are also good for offices, homes and more.. I happened to be parked close by (haircut at the nearby Supercuts) and I noticed their key cutting signage - since I needed one cut I went in and saw the store as a whole while I looked for the machine. I walked around and found the store clean and the staff helpful. Their prices looked pretty good - but in my heart of hearts I feel sorry for them. I now buy most of our groceries, fruit and produce through Amazon and Amazon Fresh whose prices are way lower than any supermarket, their quality is great and they deliver to my door within about 2 hours of ordering and for free! This will make like very challenging for stores selling purely on low prices like these guys!! On to the key cutting!!! Yikes - I wanted one but it offered me a deal if I bought two - and suggest ($2.99 more)!to trim and polish it to make sure they fit. As soon as I saw the finished keys I knew they would not work - "polished" way too much!!! Sure enough - they fit into the lock with ease but unable to open the door (of course). The only good thing was that I responded to their text regarding my order and within an hour it was canceled and never charged. Just a waste of time. But got my $$& back.. read more

The only thing Extra! about this location is the amount of help their management and leadership team needs. Submitted a complaint regarding poor customer service a week ago and have not heard a single thing back. The ambiance is depressing and for approximately the same prices you can get better products elsewhere where they value their customers. read more

Adding to my other experiences: I came on a Friday evening after 8:00 p.m. it was pretty mellow in the store, not a lot of customers. When I came to check out there were two available lines, and I was helped very quickly. It was a younger staff, and it just had a nice energy. The employees who helped me or enthusiastic and friendly. I had a large order and I was packed up and out efficiently, and within 5 minutes. Keep up the Great work! read more

I was in the area for breakfast so I decided to shop for a few grocery items I needed for the week. The store was clean and stocked with plenty of inventory. It was very quiet inside the store and the lines moved fast. Great bargain deals if you had the Smart & Final application logon. The clerk, Stacey was so refreshing and kind. She was very helpful and familiar with the store aisles. Ample parking and plenty of shopping carts available for use. I will shop here again. read more

The food selection is great at bulk. The service is excellent Brandon was great in helping. I was using my Ebt to use for Keebler crackers and wanted cash back I pressed ebt food and I found out later it used my cash and took the 50.00 plus the cracker. I was surprised that it took from cash. I am going back to them to resolve the problem. I recommend them but am disappointed they I could not get more. Happy New Year kindness forward. read more

The produce is wilted and you really have to pay attention to the date on the meat. It usually needs to be frozen or used within 1 or 2 days. Lunch meat had expiration date of yesterday. Informed the meat department and the man just walked away from me. The sushi prep area smells. I no longer shop there. When checking out, pay attention if you have reduced priced items. The cashiers rarely notice the sticker and you get charged the full price. The location up the road isn't any better other than they don't prepare sushi there so you are spared the odor. read more

Location is great and well stocked so makes it convenient, however the check out Clerks are all horrible. I keep going back but enough is enough. Gonna keep this one short and sweet... MANAGEMENT, DON'T FORCE YOUR EMPLOYEES TO TAKE PEOPLE WITH LARGE ORDERS IN THE 10 ITEMS OR LESS LANE! UGH! So frustrating. I run in for two items and get behind the lady with 25 items, a problem with an item, and chatty. HONESTLY! It's not the cashiers fault. He even said he gets in trouble if he doesn't take people when it's slow. Generally it's so quick to run through here, but not today. I really want to like this store, but...... The staff is nice. It's clean and organized. Their app is not user-friendly. Also, their computer system scans items and charges wrong prices, causing me to be overcharged. I tried to tell a manager (explaining it with my receipt in hand, but she couldn't understand. Then I called their customer service line. I left two separate messages and never a call back. I finally got someone and explained it 3 times. She exclaimed, "I'm not following you" over and over, then said she would tell someone and hung up on me. I even got hung up by the corporate phone line while waiting for an operator to answer! This company clearly does not have the customer's best interest in mind. If you shop there, check your receipt so you aren't overcharged. I may have to shop at Vons. What a shame. read more

He totally went out of his way and made this process so easy!! I've gone through this procedure numerous times across a variety of businesses over the years and I have literally never had an easier time of retrieving lost receipts. This location is hardly crowded. They are well stocked & well organized. Their price is always very reasonable. They have more locations compared to Walmart. So when I don't feel like making a trip to Walmart or just need a few items, I always drop by my local Smart & Final. Parking: Plaza parking. Easy parking! read more

Mold in 2 products- organic grape tomatoes & organic blackberries which is seen in the photo. I typically go here for the baking aisle which I would give five stars. I went to the register with the blackberries I asked for organic since they placed regular in the organic section (mislabeling for one thing) then the manager went and grabbed the organic container which I'm sure she was rushed but it clearly has mold (rushing and as a result giving me a moldy container). when I got home I noticed mold in tomatoe & blackberry & went back immediately because I thought they should know!!! They may not have a high turnaround but I don't care what the excuses for two products to have mold in it is pretty poor. Good thing is I rarely by produce but now I'll never do it again!!! read more

Z in the bakery didn't blink once when I was ordering over 500 cupcakes and they were able to pre-order waters for me to supply to our students. I would give this zero stars if I could. I have been shopping at this store for 8 years and have always seen the change in management, how ever the main manager of smart and final verdugo is probably one of the worst I've ever seen in my life. Arminit has no clue what she's doing and she runs around like a chicken with its head cut off. She's very rude, lazy and disrespectful. I went to purchase a few things for my kids and asked her for directory when she snapped at me while rolling her eyes saying " you can't see the sign above you?" The Most Ugliest and terrible personality I've seen. Ever. Not sure what her superiors were thinking promoting this lady. Strongly advise all shoppers to avoid her other wise you might get the same treatment as I did. Little does she know I'm good friends with Jeff Bloks the district overseer so she'll be hearing from her higher ups soon. This is unacceptable and I hope s&f removes her from this location. Now that things have stabilized (for now) during Covid, this S&F has done pretty well with keeping most items in stock. Even disinfecting wipes show up from time to time. But an issue that was raised a year ago is still true today: even with boxed items or containers, ALWAYS look at the sell-by date. I've been a victim of this (and it's my fault in the end) because they have a sale on something and I'm too giddy to even realize WHY the item is on sale in the first place! It's about to go bad and they want to get rid of it! I've only encountered helpful employees, so no issues there. In my experience, in terms of organization, this place has done better during Covid than most stores. Just keep checking those dates! read more

Worst shopping experience of my life. They make you download their clunky app and manually search and add each item into the digital cart to get the savings. The manager couldn't even get my app to work - it kept searching for a "secure connection." I ended up leaving without buying anything. This coupon system they use is such a dumb idea - I'm sure it was created by a silicon valley consultant who's never actually been in a grocery store. The store was clean and the employees were nice but it was completely empty at 11 AM on a Saturday. I wish I could short their stock, because this whole chain will be out of business soon. read more

The store is very clean in appearance. This location offers items in quantity, Great for large parties, catering. I personally love that the organic produce is right at the front door. The self serve items like nuts, dried fruit, candy are on the right as you enter. I love the variety of fruits and vegetables that you can choose from and the sizes, well stocked canned goods, bread, pastries, dairy isles are amazing. Cold cuts, ethnic selection is also great. Beer and wine always great. And the cashiers are the best! They are fast, very accommodating! Plenty of parking. My sister and me love that it opens early as well. Happy shopping. read more

Hello yelpers! We cried our eyes out in Burbank when they closed the Albertson's at this location, and never really dried our tears when a "Haggen" opened instead. Now, Smart & Final rises from the ashes at this strip mall. We can live again. The "Extra!," I think, is more produce, and there is a ton. Otherwise, it's a supermarket-sized Smart & Final with Costco-type bulk food sizes without the crowds (or membership fee). The bakery department is still a hit, great selection of fresh fruit, and there are a surprising number of non-bulk items just like at a regular market (Ready Pac salad for one, tube of Neosporin, milk chocolate Milanos). Wow, I just gave away my shopping cart contents. Minus one star for long register lines. Of course, that's a perfect time to like your friends' Yelp check-ins, and make someone's day. read more

What MORE could you ask for? There are Smart and Finals and Smart and Final Extras. While Smart and Finals can carry some groceries, only Smart and Final Extras, like this one, are full-fledged grocery stores. And this one has the nicest people working for it. Their manage is always out and about asking customers if there's anything he can do for them or if there's anything they need. Their employees will take your groceries out to the car. And they've even got two electric carts if you have a disability. They're just so nice and they have some of the lowest-priced groceries in town. In contrast, how fresh was the 99 cent Market when you went to it? This is a REAL grocery store. read more

This rating is based on other Smart & Final locations which have always been great. The produce manager here should be ashamed. Every time I've been here there is no shortage of rotten produce. Pics here show corn being stored in the crisper area under frequent misting (ears of corn shouldn't be wet), which is causing it to mold, and a sweet potato nearly liquid with rot. Dry goods are fine, but pick over the veggies carefully. read more

Smart & Final is my go-to grocery store with great prices and sizes that are large enough to be cost effective but not overpower small storage spaces. Smart & Final Extra locations have a wider produce selection, bulk dry goods (oatmeal, rice, chocolate covered almonds, nuts, etc), and a decent selection of more specialty items (organic juices, sugar substitutes, specialty meats). They also have rotisserie chickens here for I think about $7- great deal for a hot easy meal and then chicken-topped salad for a weeks worth of lunches! read more

I just hate coming here. They only ever have one lane open and as soon as another one opens all the garbage customers that shop here rush over. There is no common courtesy or understanding of what a line or "turn" is. Hard to find healthy food here outside of produce. And produce prices are not any cheaper than regular stores. I get a lot of my office supplies (paper towels, restroom paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, plates, cups, etc) from Smart & Final. I like this one because they almost always have what I need and the checkout lines are always super fast. The last three times I came in they were out of the heavy duty plates so I asked Jeannette for help. She stopped what she was doing, went over there quickly, solved the problem, and made sure it was handled on my way out. Normally workers tell me why things can't happen. And she could have done the that - but didn't. She actually solved the problem. I rarely see someone handle problems in such an efficient, decisive and responsible way. If she's not a supervisor or manager she should be. I wish I had a Jeannette working at my office. read more

Have been to this store several times, most recently 6/13/20 mid-morning, and waited in line with 5-7 other customers while one checkstand was open...then the cashier turned off the light and walked away...after a few minutes another cashier opened. A seas pool of a grocery story with several very rude, unprofessional clerks. Was there last night, did everything to the tee as far as proper social distancing and safety requirements during these trying times of Covid-19. When I got in line with Yvette, I attempted to hand her a $50 bill to her and she refused to take it and insist that I set it down! I thought I misheard her but her callous, unfriendly and rude demeanor couldn't be mistook. She had a PPE face covering and rubber gloves on, so what's with the unnecessary attitude?! It's cash purchases that provide her with a job and I wasn't invading her personal space. Thanks for being on the front lines store clerks but we're all in this together!
