Maybe, but Shake No.8 was not a ghost town. When we pushed open the doors there were at least a dozen other people bundled up in their winter parkas, enjoying shakes and sundaes. Proof that the ice cream is so good, you'll even walk through a blizzard for it. It was our first visit and the guy working the counter walked us through the menu and showed us photos of the menu items. We decided to keep it simple with a strawberry milkshake and a limited edition Dubai chocolate shake. His hospitality and service is top-notch. You can tell he loves what he does and takes pride in it. The pictures don't even do these shakes justice, they tasted even better than they looked! The pistachio ice cream in the Dubai shake was world-class; creamy, rich with chunks of toasted pistachios mixed in. And a strawberry milkshake with A SIDE OF CHEESECAKE?! I mean, come on. Also, some parking back there- handy in this neighborhood. Inside, it is small but welcoming. Loads of good looking pastries, gelato, cheesecake. Panini, which I think I would rather get and eat there. They have a couple of tables. It's pretty small, but there's enough room. I got a couple of pastries, baklava which Kid K will enjoy later and a pistachio muffin which I had some of immediately. Huge, flavorful, moist, topped with nuts. I really liked it. And I think I would've liked a lot of the other pastries. It was morning, so gelato and panini weren't up my alley. But I did try a sample of their eggnog gelato and it was very good. They also have I think peppermint and gingerbread and a couple other seasonals, plus half a dozen regular, standard flavors. Surely their main competitor is Fox In The Snow.
