It was -5° outside in January, and for some reason we had a hankering for ice cream. You would imagine that any ice cream shop would be a ghost town on a weekday evening during the most bitter cold weather we've had in over a decade in Central Ohio. Maybe, but Shake No.8 was not a ghost town. When we pushed open the doors there were at least a dozen other people bundled up in their winter parkas, enjoying shakes and sundaes. Proof that the ice cream is so good, you'll even walk through a blizzard for it. It was our first visit and the guy working the counter walked us through the menu and showed us photos of the menu items. We decided to keep it simple with a strawberry milkshake and a limited edition Dubai chocolate shake. His hospitality and service is top-notch. You can tell he loves what he does and takes pride in it. The pictures don't even do these shakes justice, they tasted even better than they looked! The pistachio ice cream in the Dubai shake was world-class; creamy, rich with chunks of toasted pistachios mixed in. And a strawberry milkshake with A SIDE OF CHEESECAKE?! I mean, come on. There is nothing more you could ask for. All to say this place is 10/10, no notes. I'll be back for the Biscoff shake. Not even a polar vortex will stop me! read more

I was feeling a need to nurse my sweet tooth so I had a shake delivered to my house at 8 pm with the hope that it all came in one piece. These particular shakes are better in person. The pictures were definitely accurate even though I got it delivered. My S'more Shake was delivered after 40 minutes and it was done with contactless delivery which would have been fine had I known what time my shake was delivered. There's quite a few caveats to this review. 1. We got here at the right time (230pm on a Saturday) as some of the bad reviews complained about waiting, which we didn't have to do. 2. It ain't cheap. Be prepared to drop $10 for milkshake, but it's as much for the experience and the uniqueness of the shake as it is for the shake itself. 3. It ain't healthy. You will probably be mad at yourself but it's worth it. Not something I'd do every weekend but something unique to entertain family from out of townnor to shake up your dessert rotation. Milkshakes were solid, not life altering but a creamy thick milkshake. And the fancy decorative stuff on top of the Oreo shake is another $3 so be prepared. read more

We ordered some pizza from a block over and decided to explore while we wait. My friend ordered his shake and it seemed like a lot so I decided not to get one and that I'd share with him because I'm lactose intolerant. So I was a fan at first but after my recent visit to the restaurant, I'm starting to understand the whole bad customer service theme. So I live in Gahanna, so when I come out here it's a light trek. On one occasion, I showed up an hour and ten minutes before closing, only to be told that they were not going to serve me because they by the time they got to my shake it would be close to closing time. I was in the establishment, there were approximately 8 customers and 3 individuals behind the counter. You mean to tell me that I can't get a shake with those type of stats an hour and ten minutes prior to closing? More recently I was really at a loss for words. I'll tell you what happened, but before I do, let me share what I observed during a previous visit. During the pandemic, I came to this establishment one night to get a shake. While I was waiting for my turn to come up, a group of three individuals received their order. As they proceeded to walk to the table to take a picture, they fumbled the platter and dropped 2 of their drinks on the floor. The workers quickly jumped up and addressed them and told them they would remake their drinks. This time, I'm at the same establishment, but this time, I committed the fumble. When the server handed me my drinks, she gave me a tray with some whipped cream on the side. I didn't see it until I was in mid-step and saw it drop, and my foot slid on it just a smidge; that's all it took for one of my two shakes to fall to the floor. The owner asked begrudgedly if my son and I were okay. I said yes, and that was it. There was no "We'll make you another one" for me. read more

The desserts here definitely look better than the way it tastes. I had the strawberry Nutella (not pictured) and didn't love the texture of the crepes. I felt as though it was undercooked, and not enough of fresh berries you'd want to balance the Nutella with. The milkshake was average, though the presentation was cute. A friend of mine ordered the Oreo crepes and as written on the menu, it said it would include (melted chocolate) but instead he was given Nutella. I wouldn't usually put up a fight about a mistake such as this, but my friend is allergic to nuts, and was excited to read that this did not included Nutella. When I asked the employees if "melted chocolate" meant "Nutella," they explained that they ran out of melted chocolate, so instead replaced it with Nutella. I understand mistakes, and replacing an ingredient that they no longer have to make the dish complete.... but because Nutella includes a major food allergen, they should have specify that. We were not offered a "remake" of that crepe. I don't think I'd be coming back again. read more

Have been seeing people posting about it and was wondering what the hype is about. For $11, I feel it's not worth it as it taste like a normal mint milkshake. There's peppermint candy pieces in the milkshake too which I do not like. You can add $3 more to 'eight it up' to have the whipped cream and candy toppings. I recently took my very pregnant sister in law to get milkshakes because that's all she's been craving. Overall, it definitely met up to our expectations. The location is on the southern part of campus near gateway and parking isn't too bad. For some reason, I had in my mind that this place was large, but it reminded me of the size of a coffee shop with cafe style tables, comfier chairs if a table isn't your thing, and some outdoor seating with umbrellas. I would assume that most people that go here know what they are getting themselves into... overpriced and over the top milkshakes. I got the o' shake which had cookie dough and my SIL got the sweet n salty one. Just because we felt like going all out did we decide to get all the crazy toppings just to be fun but it does add a decent extra charge. I believe for both our milkshakes, I paid around $30 total which is my opinion is pricey. Milkshake can easily be split with someone if that's what you're wanting. I for sure could not finish mine. Just of note, if you sit inside, the milkshakes get put in one of the glass cups, however, on the patio, you can only have it in a clear plastic cup. Overall, did we have an enjoyable time? Yes. Were they the best milkshakes ever? Definitely not. I would only suggest to go if you're wanting the over the top experience. What I got was a shake in a plastic cup. While it did have an oreo rim, it wasn't the cool crazy photo shake I expected. But it makes sense to do plastic and keep it simple during these times. I thought the only thing they sold was milkshakes but I was mistaken- lots of different fancy beverage options and some other snacks. We came for the shakes though, and finally settled on an Oreo one. With tip, one shake ended up being about $18, which is obviously quite pricey for a shake. However, I would say it did live up to the hype. The best touch was Oreo crème filling on the outside of the glass with Oreo and sprinkles smattered around. So freaking good. The shake itself was also quite good- the addition of whipped cream and Oreos and fudge really elevated the experience . Definitely bring a friend (or more) to split the shake with; teamwork makes the dream work. The milkshake itself was just okay, but the 1 employee was so amiable that I give this place 4 stars. The place was barren, and given that the employee was just chilling outside the store before I came in, I think it is a safe bet to say that business wasn't going well.
