DELICIOUS! My first time here and definitely not my last. Definitely. Definitely not my last time. Bring friends, bring coworkers, bring family. The prices here are way more reasonable than a DQ or a Baskin-Robbins. An order of two large-cone (large cones are 99¢, small cones 50¢. *prices subject to change(?)) single scoop ice cream's came up to approximately $10 and change. It is a nice place to bring kids. There are video games and an air hockey table. There are tables to sit at indoors to be able to relax and enjoy the ice-cream before it melts. It was over 90° out today, and there was no way the ice-cream would've made it to the car. The strawberries and cream I got was soo refreshing! My cohort with me got the caramel ice cream which had a caramel swirl. I tasted a bit of hers and it had a coconut-like base flavor to it that reminded me of a mild flavored egg nog and very much like kahlúa in the base. I am not a fan of caramel but I am very much a fan of kahlúa, therefore a fan of the caramel flavored icecream. The counter staffer states they make the icecream in-house. It would explain the partially melted look to the tops of some of the ice cream. Homemade ice-cream when I was a child always had the same melty texture. The staff member was so patient with us as it was our first time there and the menu along with the total amount of ice-cream flavors was a slight bit more intimidating than expected for our choices. The customers were able to order in English or Spanish which I thought was awesome seeing as my neighborhood can benefit from going here and not being intimidated by using a language that is uncomfortable for them. It was a lot of younger families and teens but it wasn't a rowdy atmosphere. I'm not into rowdy. If you are in the neighborhood, feeling like you want a walking taco, ice cream, sundae, funnel cakes, churro's, or just a cold bottled drink definitely stop in. Most definitely stop in before visiting DQ and save some cash. I highly enjoyed and recommend this spot as I will be back again soon. read more

Have been wanting to stop by since I've moved into the area! A year later and I finally stopped in! Needless to say I will 100% be going back! I got the elote fuego, two tamales (1 red, 1 green) and a smoothie with some tajin in it! Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced! The staff was so kind and helpful! I was a little nervous but the girl who helped me was so patient and asked enough question to make sure I got what I wanted! The place had a really welcoming and family friendly atmosphere! They had some Mexican snacks that i definitely want to stop back in for! Can't wait to bring my family! read more

OMG the BEST ice cream ever! Do yourself a favor and check this place out. There is a great variety of flavors including TRADITIONAL, TROPICAL, and FRUIT ONLY selections. The staff is very helpful and encourage tastes If you are unfamiliar with the flavors. They also have crepes and savory items as well. This puts Greaters to shame! read more

I love this restaurant customer service, ice cream & now my latest favorite, esca mocha. Tried the chili hotdog, love their chili. You can tell that it is homemade. They do offer a nice selection of sandwich's and nachos, not your taco bell type nachos. A hearty plate of what nachos used to be like. Their fresh juices are a must try. It is a very clean all the time. It is nice to walk into a clean and inviting restaurant that offers so many ice cream options to try. I definitely recommend stopping by for a taste. read more

I love ice cream and this place has very good ice cream. The high reviews are definitely true. I ordered a small and it was pretty generous. I absolutely loved the flavor and the color! The ice cream tastes fresh and it was good. You can tell they put time into developing the flavors and texture. The ice cream is thick and creamy, it coats your mouth. The ice cream is also very affordable, not too expensive! I recommend this place for families, casual dates, a group outing, or a sweet treat! It's a really unique store, with unique ice creams. I like the different types of ice cream they have and flavors. They have their own private parking lot, so you don't have to worry about parking space. There's plenty of tables inside and out for you to sit and enjoy. I like getting ice cream and eating it outside on a warm day. read more

Cold creamy goodness served up with a smile (under the mask). Oh, was this place a wonderful surprise for a weeknight after-dinner treat. They have so many options..tons of ice cream flavors and a bunch of food items (ie walking tacos in Doritos bags). They have fresh fruit popsicles and fresh fruit bowls as well. I don't love fruit, so I was just there for the ice cream! My favorite flavor was "frappuccino". They have cool, unusual flavors like "queso" and "tequila" too. They texture is super creamy and I love that its not super sweet. So glad to have found this little gem. read more

Dear reader this place is amazing!!! We were like Charlie in the chocolate factory. There were soooo many choices. Ice cream, agua frescas, crepes, shakes, churros and that's not even half of what they offer. We wanted to sample all of the ice cream flavors and due to our limited number of limbs could only leave with so much. We will be back, and you should check them out as well. read more

This family run ice cream and fast type food restaurant has moved into a new larger location right behind their old location. They have a wide variety of flavors, many with tropical fruit or spices. They also have sorbets. Their waffle cones are awesome with chocolate dips, sprinkles and other decorations. They serve simple foods like burgers, dogs and I think chili. They have game machines in the back of the dining room. My 2 problems with this establishment are the noise level (painful to my ears) and the slow service. It was not crowded at all but the counter girls were busy chatting with friends and each other. They ignored us til we walk along the counter to stand right in front of them! read more

I have always been fan of mexican street food and ice creams . This place just does this for me. Strawberry cheesecake and blackberry cheesecake flavors in ice cream were fantastic. Mangonada and a pink colored raspado the name of which unfortunately i have forgotten was just mouth watering. They have newly renovated and moved to a bigger spot which was neat and tidy and the colors in the interior just felt fun and wants you to keep coming back ! Pictures to be posted soon! read more

Paleteria Dulce Vida is another Mexican ice cream place in Columbus. It's located in a pretty good area for such a place. This area of Columbus has lots of Hispanic immigrants and it gets a lot of them here, which is a good sign. If they think it's good, anyone else probably should also. There's lots of flavors including non dairy flavors. If you don't know what paleteria means, it will help to learn before you come. It's Spanish for frozen dessert. There's a pretty big selection of ice cream and popsicles. Among the flavors are the usual like coconut, and the more exotic like chili. The ice cream is about $2 per scoop. It's about $2 for one popsicle, which isn't bad. The paletas are good but also be sure to have the ice cream, or the sabores. It also comes in non dairy flavors. There's some unique flavors like soursop, which is kind of like a pear but sweeter. If you want good Mexican ice cream come to Paleteria Dulce Vida. It has pretty friendly service even if you aren't a speaker of Spanish. With all the attention this kind of ice cream is getting around Columbus you should try it from this. read more

Been here just once. Got to try the famous mangonada with all the toppings. First of all it looked so pretty and It tasted so refreshing and yum.I have never tasted something like this before it was bust of flavors between sweet, tangy and spicy. The regular size mangonada was huge in quantity it can be easily shared between two people. Their menu looked unique and interesting. I would like to try other things from their menu the next time. read more

We love going here. It's a little hidden gem. All their ice cream is made here in Columbus and the people working there go out of their way to help. They do give samples to help you decide. Our favorite is berries and cream. They are pretty busy on evenings and weekends, But it is worth the wait! Definitely a great place to try read more

The mangonada which consists of mangoes, mango sorbet, tamarind sauce and candy pieces is delicious. The staff working that day was very friendly and offered multiple samples. Generous sizes. It tastes like the ingredients are fresh. The staff is very friendly, doesn't rush you and the climate is comfortable. This place is low-key and certainly not obnoxiously pretentious like some first name ice cream spots in Cbus. The ice cream is simple which is powerful. But you can get Extravaganza with added sprinkles. Eating this tastes like nostalgia. I may not have grown up with a true paleteria in my day but this place tastes like Home! read more

Paleteria Dulce Vida - ¡Tres Marias! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

A hidden gem! If you are looking for something unique, light and refreshing, (or even spicy!), you have to try This place! My daughter's favorite flavor is Ferraro Roche' ice cream and my husband's is the mangonada (think spicy/sweet). My boys are more traditional and get the Oreo, while I get the berries and cream. There is so many other flavors I can't wait to try! read more

I haven't made it here as much as I'd like to, but I did go this weekend. The elote ice cream is out of this world and has a great sweet flavor. The Oreo shake is way better than any chain. Sippable, taste just like the cookie without being overly sweet or underwhelming. Took some friends from Pittsburgh here and it'll be a regular spot when they're in town. read more

I didn't realize until walking in and scoping their ice cream flavors that this shop is linked in with the other Dulce Vida Mexican ice cream shops around Columbus. I'm going to be honest, I'm not a fan of any of the Dulce Vida's, as their ice cream tastes (and looks) like it's flavored with syrups, rather than actual fruit dumped in. For example, the colors of DV's ice creams are bright and bold - pistachios, for instance are more of a tan, coffee color as opposed to a bright, bold mint green. I can taste the difference, too. However, I will say that PDV is still a great locally owned choice if your in the area and get a cool urge for a sweet treat!! read more

Wow, this place is so cute! I love how colorful the inside of the shop is and how the staff greets you. Dulce Vida has any craving available right in front of you! I decided to go with the Mangonada which is mango sorbet, mango chunks, chumoy sauce and tajin! It was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. Best thing is that it is only $4.99 on Tuesdays! read more

Paleteria Dulce Vida - Mangonada - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

I'm giving this place a 4-star, because everyone should be hitting up every paleteria in town with their kids, or other people's kids, or old people, or just anyone who likes ice cream and sweets. Dulce Vida is a very clean, colorful, easy to navigate shop in a strip mall of other ethnic businesses. Easy parking, bright lights and SO.MANY.CHOICES. Very reasonable prices, and even if you don't eat ice cream (like me), you can find something interesting to eat. The staff here are really nice and patient, so ask questions and try samples. If you have kids, you can't go wrong with their popsicles - $2 each. I ended up with a mangonada, that amazing mix of mango, mango sorbet, tamarind sauce, and tajin. Chewing that straw up to get that chewy, spicy candy coating off. They also have elote ice cream, which sounds amazing but I'll have to take someone else's word for it :( ANYWAY. When you see this place, pull in. Grab the kids and make a special trip. Take your parents out after dinner. Enjoy a popsicle on the way home. It'll put a smile on your face! read more

I don't think many people know about this place, but another diamond in the rough. A GREAT place to cool off to get ice cream for the summer. You can tell that they want to be successful, not you traditional Ice cream place, they also have what's called a walking taco. Mix it with your bag of chips, and you are good to go, a great snack for on the go, mix it with chille, rice, or cheese. Very friendly. The menu is very confusing though, they have some kinks to work out, but great place to go. I would like to see everyone try it once, it appears appears as if it is a Mexican restaurant, but it's not quite that, located right across from the new turkey hill, on Cleveland ave. They have outdoor seating as well, a great place to bring a group of kids. read more

Really good ice cream as well as other frozen treats! I usually go about once a week.

Wow! I'm so glad I live like 5 min from here. A definitely must go to spot if you're into sweets and salty treats!!!! This is not your ordinary ice cream shop where you get your scoops. Oh no, this is heaven to your taste buds. Being Vietnamese, we eat a lot of our fruits with spice and salt. I don't know why but it tastes so much better when you enhance the already sweet and juicy nature of the fruit. I absolutely recommend their MANGONADAS. It's a cup with tamarind sauce drizzle along the inner cup. Then mango sorbet scoops on top. With fresh mangos diced along it. You also get a few more drizzle of the tamarind sauce and some spicy pepper flakes on top. I swear to you. This reminded me so much of home and also during my travels. I can eat this everyday if I could. It being so close to me, I've been very good at limiting myself from going so often. read more

This place is unbelievably colorful and fun!! I wanted one of each flavor!! The girl at the counter was super nice and helpful! She explained each flavor and gave me all kinds of samples to taste. I ended up getting the pine nuts ice cream!! Delicious!! Not to sweet with a bit of nutty taste, so yummy!! Everything is made there and that's amazing!! read more

This place is AWESOME! Super easy to find! The people working we incredibly nice and helpful! They answered any question we had and also gave us time to look over every thing without seeming annoyed or frustrated for taking so long (first timers). I got the fruit and yogurt palleta and a friend got the pineapple and strawberry palleta and they were sooooo good! The other things on the menu looked incredible and BIG, so I'm excited to return and try as much as I can! 10/10 recommend and for sure is a new favorite! read more

OHH MAN. This place is every little kid's (and big kid's) dream. It's bright, colorful, and lots of loud pop music plays while you're there. I consider my self to be in the know when it comes to the best place to get ice cream in Columbus. I'm very sad that I haven't gone to this place sooner. The staff is very welcoming and provided great service. They were very patient and helped my kids find a flavor they liked. The ice cream is out of this world delicious. It is very different from what you would consider to be traditional ice cream but it's definitely worth trying. It's very creamy and fresh. You can tell they use quality ingredients and put a lot of love into their process. The prices are on par with most places that serve in store made hand dipped ice cream. I will definitely be going back. read more

If I would have written this review after my first couple visits, I would have likely given this place 5 stars. They really do offer an unusual selection of ice cream flavors and many are very good. It is different than the ice cream most of us are used to eating; it's much creamier and very flavorful. I cannot say a bad thing about the quality and quantity of their offerings. We have always had wonderful service at this establishment... until our most recent visit. When we entered, there was no greeting from any employee and they seemed less than thrilled that they had us as customers. Note: It was not busy. Then came disinterested service; honestly, they acted as if they didn't want our business. Not even a thank you. just a "don't let the door hit you on the way out" attitude. It was strange and we both walked out of there with similar, unsettling feelings about why we were treated with so little respect. I'm torn, does one bad experience outweigh multiple, previous positive experiences? I'm going with 3 stars here, based on the better times but I'm not sure they'll get another chance. The way we felt when we walked out of there was not good and we'll have to re-think whether or not this is a place that deserves our business. read more

Tried this the other night. The guy that helped us asked if it was our first time as we had a "deer in the headlights" look. He had us try just about every flavor it seemed. They have everything from normal "American" flavors to exotic flavors like: Corn, almond w/ tequila, blueberry w/ cheese, coconut, pine nut, etc. I went with the coconut and pine nut. Delicious, well priced, fantastic service. read more

So delicious! Very friendly! Flavors like rum raisin, pine nut, ferrero roche, and the standards. Definitely recommend.

This place is a great way to cap off the tacos from next door. They have an excellent variety of flavors plus all kinds of random desserts. Some things are a little pricey for what you get but overall not a bad quick dessert stop. read more
