For the past 10 months we've worked with Andrea and Kelsey. My daughter says words with sounds she wasn't able to do before. She also has so much fun. The sessions are engaging and the toys are always different so it motivates her to target goals. From what I've seen, all the therapist are super positive and ready to jump in and WORK HARD. The SLP's use every moment as an opportunity to help target my daughter's speech goals. At first I didn't think 30 minutes would be enough time. Nope, I was wrong. Without Andrea and Kelsey's expertise, my daughter wouldn't be saying the words she says now. I've been with other clinics with my other children too. Speech Point really is a top notch clinic. In our search for a speech therapist as a mom of a 2 year old boy, I found that many of the…read moreproviders covered by PPO insurance had 6-12 month long waitlists. The ones that don't give real...dmv vibes. My husband and I explored about 10+ providers (some covered by insurance and some not...lynne alba, learning tree, OC speech, etc.) between Long Beach and Orange County. What we learned is: 1. Choose a provider that wants you (mom and dad) involved in the process. Sessions build the foundation and it then can be enforced at home 2. Choose a provider that isn't overloaded with clients so you can get a higher quality of care 3. Kids want to talk when they're excited so a dog for example can really help break the ice and allow your child to open up. That said, our experience with Jen has been phenomenal! She truly cares about my son and she's a mom herself so she knows how family dynamics can be and is understanding of that. She keeps us involved and truly goes above and beyond. This past halloween she coordinated a trick-or-treat tour with the nearby offices for her kids to have fun with! She challenges my son so that he is constantly moving to the next level with his speech. The dog Francis is such a great helper! Sometimes the dog does nothing but stick by my son's side and that is enough and we love it. Natalie Waldman completely eased my fears (apparently a stutter is very common at this age), but more than that, she really listened. The waiting area is not crowded at all and is super spacious. We've been seeing Brandie and absolutely love her! Megan was so great with both of us. She allowed me to sit in on more sessions than their policy states and only when I was ready did she take my son back by himself. She made me feel like she was my partner in navigating the whole speech thing. When I can't make it to take him to his appointments, she'll send videos of his progress and a little note. My son loves going to see her and doesn't want to leave the wait area afterwards! Jody, the owner, is also extremely kind and cares about all the kids and parents in her program. When a member of the staff was going to go on maternity leave and some of her responsibilities were going to be passed on to our therapist, Jody emailed me directly to make sure I was comfortable with switching my son's teacher. I expressed some concerns (he was very shy and just loved Megan at this point) and Jody quickly assured me they'd work around my son and my concerns. I can't tell you how wonderful it was for me that they went above and beyond to accommodate us. All of the people at CDC are truly incredible and will love on your child while they help them grow. We started out seeing Miss Allison, who is phenomenal, but due to scheduling switched to Miss Mary, who is exceptional. The whole staff really cares about the progress my son is making. They are out of network with our insurance, but we love them so much, we pay the difference. Our sons progress is well worth the difference in price.
