The bar is really small, just like the name states. But it feels really cozy, they also have a lovely patio with heat lamps which is really spacious. This place tends to get really busy, which means they're doing something right. I really wanted to try the food, but it was packed in a matter of minutes, the patio closed down and there wasn't really anywhere to stand without being in the way. So we headed out, I closed out my tab and noticed I was charged a 25$ holding fee which I thought was unusual and never had a bar to that's before. I have been here just for the bar but this time around we came to have a chill night and food, parking is very nice because it's a neighborhood and can find parking easily. If you are in Chicago looking for a good burger and chill patio bar this is your chance! The patio is big enough if you come with a group of 5 or perfect if you wanna come with your partner! We came on a Friday afternoon so the wait time was pretty long and the patio is first come first serve but worth it. We did have to wait a long time for our food but we enjoyed the chill ambiance of the patio with a drink from the bar. The food was hot and yummy even after the long wait. I heard that this was the best burger in the city, but I was not a fan. Had the pleaser which was an Oklahoma onion smash burger. Both patties were definitely smashed but the meat had little flavor. I wish there were more onions as I couldn't really taste them. I also couldn't taste or tell what the pleaser sauce was. American cheese melted nicely and the bun was fluffy. On the side I got fries. These were terrible, they tasted like frozen fries that were thawed overnight but not fried or seasoned. Great value at $15 (double pleaser and fries), but the food was just alright. read more

Hey Yelpers! Came in here for a late-nite smashburger. Even at almost midnight. The place was hopping. There is a decent amount of indoor seating, plus the patio area, weather permitting. It's not a big place, though and groups of more than five will have trouble sitting together. They have a few tv's with sports on, a dart board in the corner, and a nice all-around ambiance that accompanies a neighborhood bar. Plus, it is not smoky at all and doesn't smell like a bar, which is nice. We ordered a "classic" single with bacon and a "pleaser" double, along with a basket of fries and the cheeses curds. My classic was delicious. The bacon could have been a little more prominent, but I still enjoyed it. The fam enjoyed the pleaser as well. The cheese curds were also very tasty and loved by the table. The fries were thin cut (think McDonald's) and nice, but not anything special. As for the service, they were excellent! Very friendly, attentive to our needs, and super fast. I've been meaning to try this Smashburger that's located inside of a bar in Logan Square. It's dog friendly and has a patio in the back. The bar is open until 2am with the kitchen closing at 1am. We tried their Garlic Cheese Curds which were light on the salt, garlicky, and came with a jalapeño ranch as a dipping sauce. The flavor of the ranch wasn't spicy, and definitely tolerable if you're sensitive to the spicy food. I loved the cheese curds, but I had my stomach waiting for the pleaser smashburger which I got a double. It was pink on the inside and comes with an onion smash patty, pickles, American cheese, and the pleaser sauce on a potato bun. The burger is bigger than I thought and was juicy with crispy edges. I've lived down the street from this gem of a bar for a year now and always forget how awesome it is! It's easy to miss as it's at the end of a residential street backing up to the interstate but once you know it's there, you'll feel right at home. Decent drink selection, great food, and very friendly staff combine to make this experience amazing! Not overcrowded with hipsters and has a great variety of people and ambiance. So I was excited for this burger based on something I saw on IG. The good: The bar feels like it could be a vibe, if you like Good Burger playing on the tv and The Weight blasting on the radio. In the middle of writing this review they switched to heavy metal. The burger came out pipping hot. So hot I had to let it sit for several minutes. I love my food served hot so I was here for it. The fries. I don't know what they put on these fries (they claim just salt and pepper) but they are delicious. We ordered a second batch. The jalapeño ranch for the cheese curds. Top 10 ranch. The not so good: The burger was way too salty. Like salt overshadowed the entire burger. It was hard to enjoy the burger. Drinks were okay. We didn't order second mixed drinks. The seating space is extremely limited. The tables don't move very quickly, but we were lucky enough to snag a table after waiting for 5-10 minutes. The tables and bar seating is all first come first serve and seat yourself. The atmosphere is very very loud. I could not hear my boyfriend sitting a foot in front of me at the table. Note: you must go up to the bar to put in your order. No one will approach your table to take your orders. Unfortunately, we made that mistake! After we ordered we waited half an hour for our food. This was surprising as their menu is simple. The whole menu consists of 5 things (fries, cheese curds, grilled cheese, and 2 types of burgers). When our food finally arrived it was very anticlimactic. To start off, the cheese curds had a great flavor. You could actually taste the garlic which was nice and the side of sauce was also so yummy, but they were very lacking in filling. It tasted mostly of breading. My burger was okay, nothing super special. My bun was a bit soggy from being wrapped in the foil paper and I felt my burger was quite dry. I've tried many flavorful and juicy smash burgers and this one fell flat of those expectations. It was dry to the point that it was almost like a burger jerky completely void of any juiciness. I also want to note, the only difference I noticed of The Pleaser and The Classic was the addition of grilled onions on The Pleaser. The fries, shoe string/skinny fries, were also surprisingly not crispy, but also soggy in texture. Overall, I was disappointed with the food and environment of the establishment. I'm saddened my experience did not align with many other fellow Yelpers, that seemingly had a better experience. I would say this is more geared towards drinking and hanging out with your friends. They have an extensive drink menu and have a happy hour. I would NOT recommend this place if you're just going to eat. Maybe for a late night bite if nothing else is available (they close at 3am). read more

Partner and I were looking for a bar with a decent food selection, and arguably more important - a dart board. Let's start off with the food. - BBLT: As described on their menu, double the bacon, fresh ingredients, great sourdough bread. Delicious. - Pretzels: Served two enormous pretzels, buttered and sprinkled with an appropriate amount of salt. Came with a side of honey mustard and something else, I honestly don't remember. Delish. - Grilled cheese: Standard, nothing special. Definitely didn't mess it up though. It was nice that avocado and tomatoes could be added. What we could surmise was that their bread game in particular was very, VERY good. Now let's talk about the darts board. It... needs a little TLC. Tucked away in the back right corner of the bar, it definitely was a small nook with limited space to play at. The dart board itself needed a major fixin', but my partner appreciated the steel darts at least. Service in particular was absolutely superb, which means quite a lot. Both at the bar and at the back patio. Lovely atmosphere, very much a "neighborhood" bar as described in most other comments you may see here. You may see some kids and dogs in the patio. I love neighborhood places like this, and this place is tucked away on North Albany, so, you either live nearby and know about, or you read about here perhaps... I was in the mood for a cheeseburger, and was not disappointed, half pounder, cooked perfectly, lettuce, tomato, pickle on the side, buck more for grilled onions (not worth the price, tasteless and just a few, in fact I thought they forgot, had to look hard to find them) came with a choice of waffle fries, sweet potato fries, tater tots..had waffle fries, just average, but ok. my wife had a veggie burger, she said it was average. Great beer selection, staff was great, small place, hence the name, noise level was high in there...music being played was ok, I'd call it modern rock. Two TVs on, both showing the same Star Wars movie...I suppose they have sports on if there were something to show... Price I thought, for three beers, two burgers and a tip, was 55 or so...kinda high, but, I guess that's what it costs these days to go out to eat.
