10/10. The cheese curds and the cheeseburger were so good. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and not at all greasy and the burger was melt-in-your-mouth good. The service was equally great; both bartenders were friendly and the food came out quickly. As the name suggests, it is a small place with minimal seating so it's best for a quick, delicious bite and drink!

Finally made it out to small bar for their burger battle. Bar sotano vs jinsei motto. Both burgers were absolutely delicious as well as the cocktail! The service with the long lines was quick and all the staff was super kind. Loved the dive bar patio feel. What a fun way to end summer!

I ordered their classic smashburger (double) and a Shirley temple. It was a good burger and reasonably priced. Would skip the Shirley temple next time - it was grenadine heavy. There is limited seating inside. They have covered patio seating in the back. I came on a rainy Sunday and was able to enjoy the patio. They have two TVs in the patio area. You order and pay at the bar. Note: there is a credit card surcharge fee. Parking is free but can be a bit difficult to find.

I heard this charming little neighborhood bar serves up some pretty good smashburgers. My husband swears by it so he brought me to try! Upon arriving, the guy at the front door was super nice. It is very tight inside and seating is first come first serve. Patio seating is also available but its also not that big. Be prepared to possibly share a table with strangers on the patio cause seating is communal. Patio is also heated which was nice. We ordered The Pleaser burger with fries and cheese curds to share. I got a double cheeseburger and that thing was hefty (for me). Pretty darn good might I say! Seems like a chill place to eat and grab drinks with some friends!!

This place has some of the best smash burgers in Chicago as well as great drinks and atmosphere! Were frequent flyers here as it's always reliable. The frozen drink is also delicious! (Unfortunately no photos of the food because it never lasts long enough)

Yes the bar is small but they have an above average-sized patio in the back with TV's set up so def visit while the weather's still nice. Accidentally sat right in front of the TV w my beer like the gaslighter I am. Food is courtesy of Patty pleaser. Great beers on tap. What we got: 1. The Pleaser (double) - Griddled onions, American cheese, pleaser sauce, pickles on a potato bun. Charred to the gods. You have the option of getting a single or a double 2. Cheese Curds - served with jalapeño ranch

Great neighborhood bar! I would love to come back for the food as the burgers looked, and smelled, delicious! Drinks came out fast, bartenders were helpful, and everything tasted great. The back patio was a great space to drink even when it was cold outside. Cute decoration for the holidays and a nice cozy feel all around.

Really good!!!! This smash burger was BOMB!!!! We have been trying to get here for like 3-4,months and finally dropped by. We were seated in a booth and ordered at the bar. The food came in 10mins and it was PIPING HOT. Baby they know what theyre doing in here! Perfect smash. Decent service. The drinks were $12 each and they were tiny, but taste good. I shall return!

The vibe on an early Tues eve

Charming neighborhood bar with a solid vibe. We walked in for the first time and felt right at home. Workers were very welcoming. Cannot go wrong with the smash burger selection. Made with pride by the staff. Excellent selection of beverages. Nice little outdoor patio for the warmer months too. A feel good place in a dying breed format.

I'm a bit conflicted about my star rating for Small Bar. The service is really friendly and they have exceptional smashburgers. The fries and cheese curds are great too. Food prices are reasonable. My issue is with the pours on the drinks. The $12 drinks are deceiving. At first glance one might think is a great deal though the glasses and pours are at least 1/3 smaller than average. It's like an intentional optical illusion, lol. Maybe there's a triple entendra at play between the literal small bar, cups/pours, and seating options. The Old Fashioned might be less than than 3 oz. After a burger, fries, curds, and a couple drinks don't be surprised if you're set back $80!! All in all still worthy of 4 stars.

This spot is great for both food and drinks. It's in a very nice area as part of the neighborhood. The food is delicious as that's why we came here after grabbing some drinks after work. The food did not disappoint. The burger was delicious with the cheese and sauce. The pleaser fries had a lot going on but I was very impressed with how crispy the fries remained even with all the toppings. After awhile, the sauce and meat became a lot but those first few bites were delicious. I think next time, I would get the fries and sauce on the side but I loved how crispy the fries were. I highly recommend coming here whether if it's for food or drinks. You can't go wrong either way.

Smash Smallbar Cheeseburger

Delicious burger, fun drinks, cool vibe. The burger is a smash, I got one with onions smashed into it. It has a great crisp and some delicious flavor. Overall one of the top 5 best Smash Burgers in Chicago. We got French fries and cheese curds, the fries were shoe string and crispy in the right way. The curds were less cheesy than I wanted but good crispy shell. They also had frozen banana daiquiris which were so tasty, a great beer, and liquor menu. The staff are fun, welcoming, chill. Definitely not kid friendly but it does have a bunch of Xmas decor which is cute.

Because no way did we eat at the same place. WOW! It's only been a handful of times that I've had the urge to write a review while I'm still eating because of how amazing the experience is. The ambiance is bustling and will FOR SURE keep you awake as you fill your belly. And the burger? It's not just a burger, it's culinary art and a full on flavor experience. I was full well before my plate was empty, but I simply could not imagine reheating any part of it later. The egg was cooked to sunny-side perfection, and every bite was ridiculous. It's bar-style, so the fries came out first, hot and paired with a garlic aioli that absolutely did what it needed to do. Everyone moves with purpose. The food, the service, the atmosphere--this place is a well-oiled machine of greatness. 1000/10. Will absolutely be back.

Couldn't wait to try the famous burger that has been acclaimed to be the best burger in America…read morerecently by Bon Appetite and Food Network. We got super lucky and didn't have to wait to be seated without a reservation (which they do take reservations now by the way). We arrived around 12:30 on a Friday and sat at the bar. I will say, the service was excellent. The host and wait staff were very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They all seemed like that actually enjoyed being there which is always great. The restaurant is a diner, so the vibes were pretty casual with medium to loud music. The place is a bit on the smaller side and very busy. As for the star of the show, the burger, I'll be honest, I wasn't thrilled at first. I ordered lettuce and tomato, but I took it off because I felt that it took away from the flavor. What really changed the game for me was adding bacon to the burger. Bacon on this burger was a nonnegotiable, and definitely helps bring out all of the flavor. We also tried the chicken, which is pretty good. The wings tasted like an elevated Chicago chicken wing with mild sauce. The fries could be skipped on the other hand, they were quite starchy in texture and didn't have much flavor without the accompanied sauce. Overall, this was a great experience and I'll definitely come back for the single burger add bacon.

The Little Bad Wolf isn't just a story... it's a phenom dot com restaurant that you NEED to visit! My family and I visited after a Saturday Cubs game and luckily, there were still a handful of tables available and we were promptly seated. The staff were super friendly and provided excellent service! Almost everyone at our table ordered the Wolf Burger after hearing my sister and her husband rave about it. When our orders came to the table, we were all PLEASANTLY surprised at how beautifully stacked and dressed our burgers were. A triple stack of patties, topped with cheese, bacon, a fried egg, crispy onions, and housemade pickles?! That's a recipe for delicious success right there! The Wolf Burger was indeed SCRUMPTIOUS! My goodness, I am still thinking about it two whole days later and how I can't wait to revisit this restaurant and try some more of their menu items. An honorable mention goes out to the delicious fries on the side!! They were the perfect cut, well-seasoned, and out-of-this-world. I HIGHLY recommend Little Bad Wolf to all folks looking for a delicious experience! The burger is sensational, the environment is impeccable, and this is a great spot if you're going on a date or out with friends.
