I had the lunch catfish filet while my wife had the club sandwich. The catfish was light and tasty. My wife enjoyed her sandwich. Fries were fresh cut and delicious. Hush puppies were good. We had side salads. The total came to $30. Not a bad deal for good food. Great service by the owner and her husband. We tried the peach pie ala mode and it was delicious with its light pastry and ice cream. We asked about the dollar bills on the ceiling, and it is something they started recently. We added ours to the mix. I had to laugh about the sign above the toilet in the restroom that reads "sprinkles are for cupcakes, not the toilet seat." Hey Muskogee ... show Smack That some love!! We had a great dining experience while making a stop onward to town. They were moderately busy when we pulled in, so I think we may have came in after the dinner rush. A unique Muskogee restaurant that offers daily specials -Taco Tuesday was an Indian Taco daily. I opted for cheese fries, with jalapeños pepper slices. The rest of my family ordered a chicken quesadilla, and chicken bites basket. Yeah yeah, I kept my order small. I have had in the past, a special when they offered Lasagna with a side of green beans, and it was pretty good!! There were many daily specials on the white board today including the predictable Friday offering, fried Catfish. They all sounded good, but today we were there for burgers..... "Smack Cheeseburgers" and a side of fresh cut Curly "Smack Tators." Dress that big third pound patty with L,T,P,O&M; hold the mayo and ketchup, then wrap it in a fresh bun. The first bite brings a tasty surprise. That meat has flavor. The thick lean patty is well coated with steak seasoning, then cooked to form a nice crisp outside layer. Quite different then the usual bland flat top grill fried patty. It was good. The fresh fried curly potato strands rounded out the perfect burger and fries combo meal. And then there are the sweets. The restaurant seems to be noted for its famous fried pies. That's not the only sweets they have; there were tempting cupcakes in the display case. We were stuffed with the burgers, just no room. They apparently do cakes and other baked items by request. There was a beautiful cake that came out from the kitchen awaiting pick up by a customer. Check the pictures. Our waitress was patient and had a smile on her face the whole time. Substantial portions of everything, and great prices. We (6 person family) stopped in today for lunch on the way back from the lake. All I can say is STOP & EAT HERE!!!! This place is a gem., from the second we walked in the service was friendly, laid back, and fast. We always get fried pickled when they are on the menu ( a weird family tradition). These were the best we have ever had!!! The hamburgers tasted like I made them on the grill at home, chicken sandwich was great, and the fries....THE FRIES were amazingly fresh and you get a ton! They have cake, like real homemade cake. We grabbed some cupcakes for the road, easier than eating a slice of cake :) but next time I've got to try the fried pies. I'm already trying to make an excuse to drive back to Muskogee just to go here. Don't miss this place...it is a must stop! read more

We were just passing through Muskogee headed and the stoplight right before this place and were reading the signage on this place saying things like bbq and fried pies and the sunset was spotlighting. It was like it was a sign we needed to stop here. Got to the drive thru and they provided us a menu and there were some great items but the kids decided on chicken strip and curly smashtators for them and the adults went for bbq pork sandwiches. The kids' chicken strips has this light breading and crispy exterior. Chicken wasn't dry. I almost regretted not getting one or a fried fish it was so dead on point. My wife chose fried pickles and I went with curly smashtators. I am not a huge pickle fan but this place has some good friend pickles. But those smashtators are seasoned just right. I love that I got bbq sauce to dip some in too. Has a little spice to it but not too much at all. The pulled pork sandwich came in and wreck my tastebuds, in a good way. The bun is soft and toasted on the inside before the pork goes l and while that may seem small it's a game changer cause that bun stood up to the generous amount of pulled pork and the juices. Think they use a little sauce maybe. Other than that, that is it. Simple but makes your tastebuds rejoice type thing. I know what you're thinking. That's it? No friend pies? After all that, ya just tap out before? Nope, I had to go that last culinary mile cause who knows when we'd be able to come back. And ooooohhhhhh dayum dayum dayum! I am so glad I did. We got the fried cherry pie and it's got a drizzle of caramel and nuts on it. So fresh, hot, fluffy, and smelled too good that it would have been torture had I not been so distracted for the initial time with the pork sammich. TL;DR - get a pulled pork sandwich, chicken strips, fried pies, and some smashtators. It's really good. read more

3.5 Stars I've think the pictures do a little better than the actual product, but that being said it was decent. The curly fries were great but I've got to agree with another commenter that the burger needed work and the patties did seem to be pre-frozen or store bought which took away from the flavor and consistency of the meat. I think they would be better served by smashing their own beef in the future. That being said there were a lot of positives. The wait staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I also saw some catfish that looked and and daily bbq special I know wish I had got. And they seemed to have quite a few baked good that look pretty delicious. Very polite and attentive staff and two great burgers with hand cut fries plus an amazing peach fried pie that I wish we didn't have to share. With two fountain drinks, about $35. The service is fantastic but the food tonight was less than acceptable. Ordered 2 hamburgers and both had cheese on them. The bottom bun on both burgers was literally wet from the slivers of soggy tomato and inedible. The fried pickles were not fully cooked and still stuck together with raw breading. Meatloaf was damn right delicious, mashed potatoes and white gravy perfect, and what can I say it was just like my grandma's green beans! It's was the best eating out with a home cooked taste!!! When searching for a place for lunch I first passed over this option due to the name because I wanted a "calm" place to eat, but after seeing the fried pie pictures I decided to give it a go (my wife loves a good hand pie.) Definitely don't judge a book by it's cover. This diner type restaurant has an atmosphere that you can't help but enjoy a good meal. The staff and decor are bright and inviting, I ordered a Coke Zero, Combat Club, being that it was today's special, with some Curly Taters. All of the items were amazing! Probably the best club sandwich I've ever had, well beats out chains that do sandwiches. The bread was toasted with a bit of butter and the bacon was thick sliced and cooked right. Just take a look at the picture and you'll want to order one also. They brought it out and a neighboring table knew they missed out. I ordered an apple and cherry pie to go because I was quite full, but from the look of them I think they'll be just as good as everything else today. We are from Texas & in town visiting family. We stayed at the RV park across the street (great place BTW). My husband & teenage boys saw the sign for fried pies after our lunch time arrival and stopped immediately. They were cooked fresh with caramel drizzle & nuts......AMAZING! Peach was the family fave . Then after spending the afternoon with family we came back for supper and it did NOT Disappoint!! Food was hot & fresh and well flavored. The fried catfish platter was so much food! Fish, hush puppies, crispy French fries, two sides and a salad too! I had the pork tenderloin dinner with two sides, the most deliciously tender potatoes and a salad too.....so so tasty! Teenage boys got the chicken fried steak and fried frog leg platters.....both said they were outstanding. Our party of 7 was VERY full & happy! The owner helped serve our table and was super friendly! Just overall good people with a genuine down home atmosphere. We even added a dollar bill to the ceiling as part of the growing collection.
