Bought a 2019 Jeep Compass from them. It needed a few minor repairs at the time of purchase. Robbie HIGHLY RECOMMENDED the vehicle AND said he would personally guarantee it, and he HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Dunn-Rite Automotive to do the repairs, though he failed to tell us until a much later date that not only does HIS FATHER OWN THE GARAGE, HE ALSO OWNS THE CAR LOT. They have it for 8 days, this is just a week AFTER we bought it. We get it back and, on the way home from picking it up, it had well OVER 400 miles put on it, plus a whole tank of gas was run out of it, AND a low oil pressure light is now coming on. I called about it. They made excuses. I didn't drive it until I had to 2 days later. It was a short trip. I got home, luckily, because it wouldn't start again after I shut it off. At this point, we have put maybe, MAYBE 300 miles on it ourselves. It had to be towed back to Ashland, we live in Olive Hill. They had to pay for towing since the issue started immediately opening coming back from THEIR garage. They got our vehicle on Feb 2, 2026, we didn't get it back until April 28. No, that's NOT a typo. They had our vehicle for over 12 weeks. During that time, they were an absolute nightmare to work with. I've never in my life heard so many excuses that totaled up to so much bullshit! And the owner's son, who is the secretary of the garage, is f'ing rude. He hangs up on, not just us, but the warranty company we bought at the time of purchasing the vehicle. And thank GOD we bought the warranty!! He's hateful, hangs up on people, lies, lies, and LIES. He told us multiple times throughout the first 10 weeks that we would not have to pay anything on the repairs. NOTHING. Just to be told at 10 weeks, 5 days, that we would have to pay $1500 towards a new motor, and that was the amount agreed upon between us and Robbie from the car lot. He was suppress to pay the remaining $1500 or more. He was supposed to cover the cost of all fluids going back in the vehicle, but I guess that's why there's nothing but water in the radiator and what looks like used oil in the motor. There's also a huge dent in the front bumper that was NOT there at the time it was towed to their garage, but WAS there before we picked it up, along with some other minor damages. I have time stamped pictures for proof. And then there's the fact that the day we took $1500 cash to them (it was required before they would order the motor), that the owner's son, secretary Zane, counts it and said we were $200 short. Then wanted us to follow him across the road to let HIS bank count it, but HE was going to carry the money with him. We said absolutely not. We counted it right there in the office. He acted like we absolutely ruined his day right then by counting out exactly $1500. No extra spending money for him that day. Not from us anyway. I know this is a long review, but I promise you it's an honest one that I've left a I of childish BS from their part out of. Long story short people, DON'T buy cars from them and definitely don't use Dunn-Rite Automotive. Not unless you like paying for a car that you don't have. read more
