We went to the big sale Hometown in Ironton had in April 2023. We told the salesman we wanted to trade our 2007 Ford F150 and our payments had to be no more that $250 a month because we are both on SSDI. They sold us a 2020 toyota tacoma. I told them there was no way they could get us in it for 250 a month. The salesman got us financed and folded the contracts over so we could not see or read them before signing. They called us a few days later to tell us they got better financing and needed us to come back in to sign new contracts. At that time I was informed that my payments were going to be over $1000 a month. I told them to cancel the deal and give me back my truck we traded in and let him know what the salesman did and said. They called me back and said they were canceling the contract and would call me when they got my original title back. I have called them 3 times now and still no title. Was told today that it is in Ironton in the desk at the finance office. Be forewarned they lie like dogs and can not be trusted. DO NOT SHOP THERE UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING SCAMED!!!!!! read more

My husband found this 2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer on Auto Trader for sale. We contacted John at Hometown Certified PreOwned, 2125 South Third Street, Ironton, OH 45638 to make arrangements to see the vehicle. Before going to see it, I checked the Ford Recall sight to make sure that there was not a recall on the vehicle. There was no recall on the vehicle. We went to see it and the first thing they told us is that there was a recall on a part in the engine and that it would take a month to receive the part. When I told them that Ford didn't show a recall, they changed their mind and said that it was an aftermarket part they were waiting on. They stated that the vehicle was from Kentucky and ran well. We also found out that the vehicle was from Pennsylvania and had extensive rust on the undercarriage. They also said that they put a new exhaust system on. They said that everything on the vehicle worked. When completing the sale, they agreed to purchase new rotors and brake pads for the vehicle at their cost and that cost would be added to our sales bill. They were to install the new rotors and brake pads before we picked up the vehicle. I placed several calls to the sales man Doug to no avail, he wouldn't return my calls. I even called to main number and spoke with the receptionist and told her that I had been trying to get in touch with Doug and she told me that he was sitting at her desk. When we picked up the vehicle, the first thing my husband did was check the brakes only to find out that they had never changed the rotors or brake pads. When my husband talked to Doug the sales man, he told us that the mechanic thought they were just fine and decided not to replace them. I then wanted to speak to the manager (Jeff) about this and he said that it would be taken care of. Jeff said that they would make arrangements for me to bring the vehicle back in to have the mechanic install them the following week. After a couple of days, I called to ask when they would do the rotors and brake pads, I was told that they had not even purchased then yet. We were constantly put off by this dealership. After driving the vehicle for a week, we realized that the exhaust system was not finished it terminated in middle of the v3ehcile, which caused the fumes to come into the vehicle through the rusted floor. We found this out when trying to get it inspected so we could register it. We had to get the exhaust fixed and also found out that we had to replace the lower ball joints before we could get it inspected. When they pulled the engine, they forgot to put the engine shroud back on. The seat warmer/cooler didn't work, the only buttons that worked on the steering wheel was the cruise control. There was a pounding on the inside roof when the rear heater was turned on. When I went to pick up the rotors and brake pads, at this point I didn't trust them to do the installation, I told Doug about the problems that we had noticed. He told me that it would all be taken care of and that he would call me to make arrangement to have everything fixed. Needless to say I have never heard back from them. I want to make sure that anyone purchasing a vehicle from this business knows that they will lie and cheat you just to make a buck. Don't buy from this place. read more

I recent bought a Ford F-150 in August of 2018 from Hometown in Ironton. I've had nothing but problems out of the truck since the purchase of the vehicle, but that's not even the best part. I recently went to trade it on on a safe reliable vehicle at a reputable dealer (not like this joke of a business) but after I test drove a vehicle and made my way back to the dealership expecting to trade the truck in on the vehicle I test drove I was informed by the salesman that he couldn't trade my truck in and it left me confused. So we sat down and he explained to me exactly why he couldn't, come to find out the odometer had been rolled back over 10k miles (NOTE* truck was from Canada and been switched from kilometers to miles and the odometer was rolled back after it had already been converted over.) also with that rollback of the odometer not being the end up it, the truck also had frame damage which I wasn't informed of any of this prior to the purchase. So IMO they're fraudulent scum. So with this being said they refuse to make anything right, so not only will they be hearing from my lawyer, they'll also be hearing from the Better Business Bureau of Cincinnati, the Attorney Generals office, and the company I have the vehicle financed through (whom they also defrauded for $20,000 plus) read more
