I brought my son to Slime Kitchen for his birthday, and it turned out to be such a sweet experience for both of us. For $30, kids get to create their own slime from start to finish, and it truly feels special and hands on. He loved choosing everything himself, from the texture to the color, plus a delicious scent and fun mix ins, all finished with a sprinkle of glitter on top. He chose a pink slime with a smore scent. The entire process was quick, about ten minutes, but packed with excitement and smiles, and he was so proud of what he made. We went on a weekday, so it was calm and uncrowded, which made it even more enjoyable. Since it's inside a mall, I can imagine weekends being much busier, but overall it was a memorable visit.

The blue slime we just went a few weeks ago and it grew mold the pink one we made back in August

The pink slime we made back in August and the blue we made on September 26th and it has grown mold for some reason! Update 11/11/25 We came in with the moldy slime and the worker Alana I believe was her name was super nice about it. She was super helpful. I felt so bad when we came in it was really busy. It was calm for a little bit then got really busy again. Alana was the only one working I felt so bad she was doing her best to accommodate everyone as fast as she could. Some customers in there were not being patient with her. Alana was amazing! It was just a little wild she was the only one working. Anyways thank you Alana for the amazing customer service. Moving up my stars from 2 to 5!

Awesome experience for the kiddos! Nice staff and cool items to choose from. Recommend for ypur kiddos

This is my beautiful daughter Lucy

I brought my two daughters to slime kitchen. My oldest daughter has autism. She made her slime, but the smell that they put in made her feel sick and the texture made her very uncomfortable because she's got a lot of sensory issues. I explained the situation to everyone there and asked kindly if maybe they could let her start again since it's literally a dollars worth of glue and they said no I would have to pay $30 and get another one even when I explained that she has autism and this wasn't her fault they didn't seem to care they didn't offer us any sort of solution they just said I'd have to spend 100% of what it cost again. I understand their company policy, but my daughter has special needs and this was one of the situations where it would've been really nice to feel supported and not left out. Shame on you guys.

It was great. My favorite part was when we got to play with the slime and add extras to it. Keep your slime in the bucket. I took mine out for a picture and got it in my aunt's hair. They were nice and helped her get the slime out. By Zack

Our 4 year old had a blast and the process was so fun and easy! She chose a scent and color as well.

Worth the price! So much fun! The kids had so much fun and it was nice to see them love it

    Super fun for the kids!

Great experience for slime lovers! Such a fun and creative spot for anyone who enjoys making or playing with slime. The activities were engaging, the staff was helpful, and the kids had the best time experimenting with textures and colors. Highly recommend for a hands-on, sensory experience!

It's a fun time for kids but very expensive for what the actual process is. Better off going to Target and buying your own slime kits

Seeing my kids eyes light up when I say we are going to Kids World..... PRICELESS!!! Normally, my kids are pretty easy to entertain. Give em an IPad or put on episodes of Bluey and it gives me the time I need to do the dishes, start the laundry and even run the vacuum. But after that's all said and done and the house is magically back in order (for now).... My kids will often say, "Daddy we're bored, can we go somewhere fun?" So we will usually go for a walk or ride their scooters which 9 out of 10 times is just a ploy to get me to take them to our local park. They get me, Every. Single. Time. Other times we will take a dip in our pool, especially now that it's summer. But sometimes not even the park or the pool is what they are looking for in terms of fun. So every now and again I will throw the, "hey do you wanna go to Kids World?" Instantly, their eyes get real big and their smiles get even bigger. For the record... Kids World in Oak Park is truly a Family Fun Center. Known for its indoor "playground" where kids and possibly adults (if you are good at ducking your head) and aren't afraid to get balls thrown at you from the ball pit can really have some fun all while creating good memories for you and your littles. Hey, maybe I'm just a hands on Dad, or maybe I just never really grew up, but I absolutely love just being a big goof and running around like a crazy person chasing my kids in an exciting game of tag. Through the twisty slides, the never ending tunnels, padded barriers, and of course the foam-balled, ball pit.... You and your kids are destined to get have some fun. Plenty of complimentary open tables to host a party; there are of course paid reserved areas available for larger celebrations. My only negative is the Kitchen area... They have a section in the back where it appears they used to have food? Maybe food is coming?? But the last couple of times we've came.... Nothin'. They do allow you to bring outside food and drinks which is nice, but I'm hoping in the future they get the kitchen back up and running. So the next time you feel like rewarding your kid with that play date you've been promising, or maybe you are looking for a fun place to host that birthday party without making your own house a mess... Come check out Kids World Family Fun Center!

Aside from the sea of plastic balls, there wasn't a whole lot that my granddaughter could use or play with... or she just didn't want to, although she went down the slide a few times. However, my grandson had lots of fun floating about on the various jungle gyms and climbing apparatus. There were still some things that were for older children that he didn't want to try, but from my perspective, the fact that he didn't want to leave when we were ready, told me he was enjoying himself. Certainly, as they get older, it would definitely be a place we could return to. They keep it well maintained and clean.

We love the concept but the cost was just too high to justify the time spent here. It's $30 per child and while it's unlimited play, there's not a whole lot to do after the excitement from interactive screens goes away. It is cool to see the screens be tappable. The sand table is very cool as well, it's interactive so if you make a pile it makes a mountain and if you dig a hole, virtual water fills the space. We've never seen anything like it. But the kids spent about 15 minutes at the table and 10 minutes coloring the big wall screen and 10 minutes in the interactive ball pit. They were done with interactive screens after that and they spent the most time in the little play space with a market and salon. In total we spent about 1 hour and 10 minutes here before the kids were ready to go. It was really hot inside so maybe they would have lasted longer if it was cooler. We were sweating when we got outside. I just feel like $60 could have been spent elsewhere for more fun. Glad we went though - it's kind of a one and done experience. (Adults need grip socks not regular socks so we spent money on that as well.) Edit: These were our own kids here not our nephews and we were charged $30/kid despite the sibling discount.

What makes it even better is that they also have workstations for parents who work from home such a smart idea for when you need a little break while your child is entertained in a safe, stimulating environment. The owner was incredibly welcoming, giving us a tour and explaining all the unique interactive experiences. It's rare to find a place that feels this thoughtful and intentional. And because students are learning they have animals roaming around with them so you could potentially see a beaver or a hawk up close and in demonstration. I honestly think I preferred it here as it was slow paced and not very crowded. I don't believe they had any food here so bring snacks and their gift shop was closed. Their own website clearly states to arrive at 6pm, with no mention of calling ahead, no reservation system, no waitlist. So that's exactly what we did. We arrived on time only to be turned away because the spots were already gone. Apparently there's an unwritten rule that regulars know to call ahead, information conveniently absent from their website. When we asked the general manager, Cameron, why this wasn't communicated anywhere publicly, her repeated response was essentially "we're popular", offered with the self-satisfaction of someone who sees no problem with the situation. No apology. No empathy. No acknowledgment that their website is actively misleading customers. Just a shrug and a reminder that this is "how you learn for next time." My son was in tears. What's most frustrating isn't the miscommunication, it's the attitude. A good manager finds a way to soften the blow, acknowledge the failure, and make a family feel heard. Cameron did none of that. When I pointed out that if calling ahead is policy, it should be stated publicly, she had no real answer, just more deflection about how popular they are. K1 may be too busy to care about losing one family's business, but we had been planning a birthday party there. That won't be happening.
