I was in the Slime Kitchen with my daughter and found it to be a fun concept but you have some work to do. For example: 1. The website makes it intentionally difficult to find the cost of a visit. That's beyond lame. I eventually found $25 for CA locations and $27 for "premier locations" whatever that means. At checkout I was surprised to find out that I wasn't in California--I was at a 'premium location'. The kid at the register had no idea why I expected $25. Poor website messaging, poor training. And refusing cash is extra lame. 2. We arrived at our reserved time and was waiting around to find a staffer to walk us through the steps. Staff were all busy, we waited and waited. Staff needs to be trained to greet and overview the process. If they are busy, greet and set a time expectation. Super basic stuff. 3. I requested a restroom and despite their being a restroom in the space, we were told we couldn't use it. Ok, so where are the mall restrooms? Staffer had no idea. After I came back I had to tell the staffer "it's to the right next to Pottery Barn". Ok, I get it--they're teenagers, but the people who should train them should be adults. This is such a simple, basic question they should be able to answer. 4. My daughter requested her slime be more stretchy and a staffer came over with a bottle of white liquid. I asked what it was and the staffer had no idea. Really? I expect very little from teenagers, but I expect the adults running things to train them vs. set them up to fail and frustrate customers. Hope this helps fix up this location. It was a frustrating experience. read more

It's so cool. They have a do it yourself slime kit. You can also buy gift cards for friends family. They have the premade ones and the do it yourself and they have different textures of slime. My favorite is the cloud you get to choose the colors of slime that you want, you could mix you also get to choose your scent, glitter beads, and stuff that you put inside. I highly recommend it it's worth it they just opened at Stonestown. read more

The staff are friendly, patient, and really great at guiding little ones through the slime-making process while still letting them customize and experiment. I came here with my daughter who loves slime. This place fell down on all counts. The stand mixers look cool but don't actually mix the slime base with the color well at all so after a few seconds the attendant did it by hand, which my daughter could have done herself and probably would have enjoyed more. Then we added the textures pieces but the texture of the slime was weird so the pieces were not being gripped and were falling out so much that nobody would want to bring this in their house as you'd have tiny plastic beads all over your house in seconds. The attendants proactively offered to add some ingredients to fix this issue before telling us that this particular base and bead combo was basically incompatible even though they had helped us in selecting this combo and said nothing at the time. I asked if they could let her start over with a new base since this end product was defective but they wouldn't do it without charging another $30. The slime base and ingredients must cost them $1 and their product was defective. Least they could have done for $30 slime. read more

Slime Kitchen is a fantastic concept that provides an engaging, hands-on experience for kids who love sensory play. They get to pick out the texture of the slime, the scent, the color and add whatever add ins they want. But what truly makes or breaks the experience is the staff - especially if your child isn't neurotypical. We did Slime Kitchen at Oakridge for my daughter's birthday and it was a fantastic experience; the staff was communicative, they all offered to help and were genuinely trying to make sure all the kids felt cared for which is truly needed when they encourage parents to drop off their kids. I never felt rushed and I genuinely think every child had a good time at Oakridge. However, attending a party at this Stevens Creek location I was not impressed. The staff could be much more inclusive and accommodating of children with anxiety, learning disabilities, or behavioral challenges. Unfortunately, they didn't seem prepared or willing to adjust their approach to support kids who might need a little extra patience or guidance. My child has none of the above concerns but I watched her close friends be treated less than ideally by the staff here at a recent party. 1.) A child with generalized anxiety was told to rush to their spot when they arrived shortly after the party start time because of traffic. The child was getting overwhelmed quickly and staff was not patient or accommodating to her being overwhelmed in a new space. 2.) A child with dyslexia was told to quickly pick a scent (these scent bottles are labeled by a label maker and there's about 50 scents - it's hard to read and not get overwhelmed as an adult!) which became stressful as she was being told by the slime kitchen staff/host that she was making the other half of the kids wait to do their slime since she wouldn't make a decision. These bottles should truly have pictures or something to identify the scents - it's too much for small kids!!! 3.) A child with ADHD did not hear the instructions and grabbed too many "topper charms" while the slime kitchen host counted down from 10 - no one on staff stopped her while she was doing it but when the slime kitchen host saw that she had far more than the amount they were told to grab, the slime kitchen host announced to the group that child wasn't being honest, and that the child was lying about how many charms they got. I thought this was completely out of line and had to jump in and clean off the charms and help facilitate getting the child back to their spot with the appropriate amount of charms. The child was panicked and confused through the whole situation. 4.) The slime kitchen host was regularly gossiping with colleagues and saying that "these kids aren't listening" and barking orders at the other staff members. 5.) When the slime kitchen host left the "slime certificates" out and then said nothing to the party host, the party host (rightfully confused) passed them out and put them in goodie bags since they were repeatedly told to wrap the party up since they had a back to back party after. When this was done the slime kitchen host was acting like something was done to her, rolling her eyes and acting impatient - she kept mumbling to her colleagues "wow." 6.) Continued to push for more and more gratuity after all the above happened at check out. Additionally, communication about the party timing was unclear. There was confusion about the exact start and end time, which made planning difficult and the experience feel rushed. On top of that, general customers were allowed to come through the same line as the kids attending a party, which disrupted the flow of the event and made things feel a bit chaotic especially when kids not in the party were trying to rush the kids in the party. For people paying A LOT for these party experiences they should be in a different area or there should be options on the other side of the store for the add-ins to the general public. Overall, Slime Kitchen is a great spot for kids who thrive in high-energy, structured environments, but it may not be the best choice for families looking for a more inclusive, patient or well-communicated experience. A little more attention to inclusivity and organization would make me reconsider coming here but as of now I would say make the drive to Oakridge. read more
