Do not go after 9pm, evening staff do not care at all, have gotten my order wrong multiple times now, and just do not seem as on top of things as slim chicken employees usually are. As one of the only places in town that is open past 11 for a quick bite, they should schedule people that understand that. My daughter and I ate here for a quick stop when passing through town and this older gentleman (we didn't get his name) served us and was the highlight of our experience. He was incredibly nice and very engaging to talk to. He made us feel extremely welcome and even recommended some menu items to us. Bathroom is covered in Water that is leaking under the wall to the kitchen (has been that way every time i've been here and all they do is throw down wet floor sign) Waited 45 mins for an oreo shake that we had to ask for 3x. Its really sad the lack of work ethic people have these days :( I would be embarrassed to be this manager . Definitely the last time this location receives my business . Ps. If you have 35 people waiting to be served , you should probably get off your phone and take the two mins to clean some tables. This is an all chicken fingers concept done fairly well. More of these chains have started to pop up and I'm a fan. They have more selection on sides than most places. The fingers had a nice thin battering and were mostly crisp. One or two were a little oily for my taste. I tried 4 sauces and would definitely get the cayenne ranch and Korean BBQ again. The French fries weren't overly warm and were totally unseasoned. I would prefer more of a natural cut. Overall the food scored 3 stars if you go in with the expectations of a fast food joint. I've been here a handful of times and have not been I'm pressed at all. Everything is very overpriced. I'm writing this review because when I stopped in yesterday I was very displeased. This sounds kind of silly, but my ranch cup (that I payed extra for) was only half full and out of my 4 piece chicken tender meal, only 2 tenders we're full-size. I got 2 maybe 1-inch pieces of chicken and I was not happy. As far as taste/quality of food, the tenders we're okay- average at best. Mac n cheese was bland, but the fries were good. I have never been to a slim chickens in Sioux Falls and got served luke warm chicken, cold/chewy fries, some fries hard as a rock, and cold toast with fuzz all over the crust until today. The booth we sat in was the last one available and was full of grease/crumbs. They were also out of peach tea at 7 pm. My boyfriend paid for a side of sauce that he didn't get and then received an attitude from the worker who he kindly asked for his sauce. She basically threw the sauce on the table and walked away mad. Will not be coming back to this Slim's location. I never post reviews, but I am very disappointed as it is one of my favorite places to go, and usually it doesn't matter which one you go to because they are all excellent, but this one is not. Most of the time, pretty dang good! Would be 5 stars if they could really be consistent on cooking the tenders. Myself and my friend have had the tenders undercooked on multiple occasions, never got sick or anything, just some breading that needed another 30 seconds. The flavor of the food though, amazing! The Cayenne Ranch chicken sandwich is awesome, especially paired with an additional side of Cayenne Ranch. Same goes for the fries, I honestly don't even like French fries and usually opt for another side but theirs are awesome. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Slim's chickens serves probably one of the best deals for chicken tenders in all of the U.S. The chicken is always fresh and crispy and the various sauces are delicious. The prices are always reasonable as they come with a side (served in plenty) and a drink (the homemade lemonade is a highlight). On top of all that, the atmosphere is very nice with a friendly staff and clean restaurant. This is one of my favorite food joints in recent years. read more

Update: My first review was poor. I braved it, went back when a friend brought me and had a MUCH MUCH better experience! Have been back a few times now, and each time was consistent and haven't been disappointed since! Service is still amazing, and the food is very good. The breading was a little thicker without being too much, and the flavor when properly breaded was worlds apart from when I first reviewed. This store is on my way to work, and it is hard not to stop now that I have had some very good follow up experiences! Glad I went back, and glad to update from a 2 to 4 star rating. I don't like to give poor reviews. People work for a living and put their pride and joy into their businesses. So it is good to be able to rewrite this and give a good word for a place where the service is excellent and the food has gotten better! read more

Was there and a regular customer, got cold food asked for hot food and manager on duty was not nice about it. He got me hot food but wasn't the amount of chicken I ordered. He said here you go . Never apologized or checked back during our visit so I couldn't even ask about chicken amounts and the impression I got was don't bother to talk to me. Filled out survey and asked to be contacted and have never been contacted. Bad day at slims because others around us had orders messed up as well, but they got apologies and more new food. We eat here whenever it's near a meal time and we are in the area! I like that they have grilled and breaded chicken. My husband gets the grilled (gluten intolerance) and I get the breaded. My favorite about the breading is is that there isn't much!!! I hate it when you get chicken at places and there is definitely more breading than there is chicken. I just don't get the hype. I tried this place again! I got a tender meal, one tender hot and juicy and the other tenders lukewarm and chewy...weird. I ordered take out and it gave me a 20 minute window to pick up. After I ordered I received a message giving me the pickup window and that they would message me again once my order is ready. I never got the text message about my order being ready but I went to pick up anyway. When I went to pickup they weren't aware of my order and had to enter it in the system again. I don't think this is a cashiers fault, it's the upper management who obviously didn't give any instructions on take out orders made through the website. Anyway, my food is OK, the best part was the honey mustard sauce. Cashiers unprofessional and not enforcing any mask or distancing rules. I'm still trying to figure out why people love this place.
