Fried Mushrooms

Awesome awesomeness! Nice and clean inside. Service was kind and efficient, we didn't have to wait long for our food. The buffalo chicken mac was so delicious. Very flavorful. Fresh green onions on top, cheesy, and quality chicken. I was so full, but I couldn't stop eating it. The fried mushrooms were also amazing. The batter would fall off a bit when dipping, but I don't care. It was delicious. I got way more than I expected too. My picture was only after I ate some. My kids loved everything. Wings, fries, and toast. One of them is really picky so that was awesome that they loved it. My husband and I both agree that the quality of the wings is great for the price. Definitely coming back here.

Try this place on a random Saturday early evening and did the drive-through only. Luckily, there was no line. Pricing is pretty fair. However, the area is sparse with competition especially on places that specialize on chicken tenders. For example, raising canes is still not in the area yet. While the staff was very nice, it did take a little while for the food to be prepared. Further, we did get to Sotos and there was something off about the syrup in the machine but that is not their fault. That is something to address with Coca-Cola. Overall, the food was solid and it was good however, not really seasoned at all as far as a chicken batter is concerned. The waffles or waffles nothing fantastic or unique. I'm not sure I would come back because there's nothing that truly sticks out. Keep in mind the brand new Popeyes in town just opened right across the block.

This West Lafayette location is the only one in Indiana! I hope they add more! The restaurant started in 2003 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It's really nice inside. The employees were friendly and helpful! They had about 4 different teas and fresh lemonade available. We ordered chicken and waffles, slim wraps, and fried okra. All were good! I really liked the breading on the chicken. It had nice flavor to and it wasn't greasy and they perfectly sized tenders. They use a buttermilk marinade for the chicken and are hand breaded. They had 17 different sauces to choose from and they had a refrigerator of delicious looking dessert jars. Chocolate brownie pudding, strawberry cheesecake, and Oreo cheesecake jars. They also offer milkshakes, fried mushrooms, fried pickles, salads, wraps and wings. Will be back!

Chick's Meal

Burnt toast. Soggy fries. The only thing worth coming back for is the ranch. By "burnt toast" I mean BURNT toast. And it's not even good bread?? It's basically Wonder Bread. Fries are so unremarkable it's scary. Chicken fingers are small and reminiscent of frozen tenders from the grocery. This is my second time getting food from them. Thought the first bad meal was a fluke so I didn't bother leaving a review. Now I know why they never have lines at the drive through.

One of the easiest recommendations I've had, us guys have dropped in four times in past two weeks! The strawberry milkshake, wow! Chicken and waffles, cayenne spicy chicken sandwich, and atmosphere here are winners. The service isn't fast food fast but about right for quality. The drive through a Wednesday night was crazy slow, about 20 minutes waiting. Rewards program is excellent, prices decent, they're often out of ingredients which is odd considering nothing here is that unique except the okra but who is getting all of that? Would like to see gluten and dairy free options showing up quickly. Popeyes and Slims are the new standard for chicken sandwiches, menu variety, and casual eating.

Food was good, but found a hair in my cayenne ranch. I don't think I can eat ranch from there after this

Went in for dinner with my family. I was hopeful the bread and fries would be better this time ,but I was wrong it wasn't. So I tried the fried mushrooms. They were just ok, but the cheese cake jars they are yummy, and chicken isn't bad either. For service, I wasn't blown away. There was a young lady who was very rude while taking our order, not to mention my order wasn't correct after I received it. I might give them another chance a few months down the road when they arnt so new .

I'm not usually one for chain restaurants but I have been hearing a lot of good things about Slim Chickens and I decided to give them a try since I was close by. I'm glad I stopped in and I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the chicken and the sauces I chose. I went for the 3 and 3 meal which included 3 tenders and 3 n bone in wings. I opted for the sauce on the side and was able to choose from actual sauce or even seasoning rubs. I went with Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan and both were to my liking. The Buffalo seems like a classic Buffalo with not too much heat and the Garlic Parmesan was a lot more flavorful than I expected. There was a lot of food in the basket and for the price I payed I felt it was worth what I got. The meal comes with 2 sauces, a drink and fries. I'm not sure if you can substitute sides or not. The drink selection is fountain style Coke products and a selection of teas brewed separately. The bone in wings were all different sizes and I received a bonus wing most likely due to one or two being a little on the skimpy side. The meat on the wings were tasty and not dry or over cooked. The tenders were breaded up with a nice coating that wasn't too thick and they were pretty decent size. Overall very pleased for a chain restaurant and most likely will stop by again when I'm in a rush!

Tonight I was fortunate to have been invited to the Friends & Family soft open of the new West Lafayette Slim Chickens. With it being a soft opening, I was managing my usually high expectations of a restaurant but they hit it out of the park! The food was served very fast, hot, perfectly cooked and it was seriously delicious! They provided stellar service even on a training night. The seating area is comfortable and well decorated. They have a drive thru, outside and inside seating. And we loved the fresh brewed teas and lemonade. We can't wait for Slim Chickens to fully open and try other things on the menu like the buffalo chicken wrap, milkshakes and that dreamy cheesecake jar! Yum!!!

Chicken wings were tiny and overcooked. Taste like dry jerky. Overpriced for sure. Staff was very friendly.

Food was good but a worker, made a comment on how much food we were eating which was kind of odd considering we only ordered one extra side

Finding your way to the restaurant with all the construction in 2025 sucked though, so be aware of that. There were 7 of us, tired and grumpy from the rainy Purdue Game, rolling in at about 9pm, ready to get some real food for dinner. Fortunately, we were seated right away. We got chatting and enjoyed looking around at the fascinating and delightful pub style decor. The history of the restaurant and its owners is on the back of the menu and is a great and heartwarming read. I ordered the regular size portion of corned beef and cabbage with mashed potatoes and a slice of deliciously dense Irish bread. My bf got a pint of cider and Irish stew with a slice of Irish bread. The table also split an order of pub chips and at the end, a slice of Irish Bailey's cheesecake. The cheesecake is a must get!! My bf paid our bill which was about $40, which is a great price for the large quantity of yummy Irish food we enjoyed. I would love to go back here anytime we are in town.

The part of Applebee's is they are consistent. This facility fits that mold as well. We have been…read morehere multiple times. You get a good meal, at a predictable price and pretty good service. This consistency is reflected in the items we order. The family likes the BBQ and Sweet Chili boneless wings. These sauces have familiar tastes. The chicken nuggets are usually appropriately cooked with a modestly thick breading. Not outstanding...just solid. The chicken wontons and oriental chicken salad are a unique item that over family loves. Both have the same type taste. The taco is fun and the shell is light and crispy. The salad is always fresh with finely shredded vegetables. The chicken is usually moist and tasty. The dressing is delicious and helps make these two dishes.

It ended up being about 30 minutes. After being seated, the food came out relatively quick. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to start off. Since it was after 9 pm, this app was half off ($5 total) which is a pretty good deal. Surprisingly I could taste some artichoke in there but I remember it being more cheesy/creamy and less runny a few years back. The chips are light and crunchy and the salsa has a bit of a kick. We also ordered the 2 for $32. Appetizer: boneless chicken wings (sweet chili sauce), entrees: 4 cheese Mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders, and 8 oz top sirloin (well done) with mashed potatoes and broccoli. For the separate entree we ordered the whisky burger. The boneless chicken wings were tender and the breading was crunchy. I wish the "wings" had the sauce more evenly distributed and more of it for more flavor but it was still good. The 4 cheese mac and cheese was good. The pasta is a bit creamy and has a sweet after taste because of a sauce. There's a few sprinkles of perfectly cooked bacon. The tenders are mostly honey (sweet); I didn't taste the pepper part of the description. Not that it changes the flavor too much but I was going in expecting the swirly pasta so the flavors can get trapped more. The breadstick was surprisingly good. A hint of sweetness, mostly herby/buttery. The sirloin was good. It was ordered well done and it was well done. I loved the salt crystals on top, really helped with the flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy and good texture. The broccoli was cooked well--not too soft, but also not hard. The burger was good. The meat looked a bit mashed rather than an actual patty and it was juicy. The flavors were good. The fries were okay. We also had a peach iced tea but it didn't have a strong peach taste and it was a bit bitter. I am giving 5 stars because it is a chain restaurant so the bar isn't too too high. But also because despite the lack of staff, they powered through with a positive attitude and good customer service. The food came out quick and had good flavor. The prices are reasonable ($58 total). The inside looks clean and for a tourist it's nice to look at pictures of places, people, and monuments that make up Indiana culture.
