Such a cool and retro looking environment! The service is really good and they have a lot of food options to choose from. The chicken and other foods are cooked to order. When we received our food, it was piping hot. All of their sauces are house made. I tried the slim sauce and the bbq and they were both delicious. The chicken is amazingly breaded and cooked! The chef, Tony, was kind enough to come out and introduce himself as well as give us all free brownies!! Might I add, the brownies were delicious as well. I throughly enjoyed my experience at Slim Chickens! If you're in Tupelo, consider stoping by!

This time around I had the 16 oz Hand Cut Sirloin, with Green Beans and Mixed Vegetables. The meal was excellent and as reasonably priced as you can hope for in the 2026 economy. Service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere was in line with the chain experience.

First with the congeniality of the staff and this electric atmosphere. Okay some might say noisy; potato, potatoe. People are enjoying the food and drinks. So, to each its own. Nevertheless, my first visit I had the 1/2 slab of ribs. I was only able to eat not even half because I got full off the warm bread and my two sides. DISCLAIMER: the bread they serve is deadly GOOD; watch out. Next, visit for lunch I had the 6 oz. Hand-Cut Sirloin with a house salad and mashed potatoes (which again I had to take a bag with me). Why do I keep doing this to myself. For the sake of this review this last time for dinner I had 8 oz. Hand-Cut Sirloin with a house salad and sweet potato. You already say know what I'm going to say concerning taking food home. Then a colleague talked me into this very tasty frozen margarita. Okay, I'm through for a while. But, if you are in the area stop by. You will get your fill and some. Again, watch the bread...so good.

Visit #1: I ordered the Voo Doo Tots and the prime filet. The tots? Okay, these were amazing. Like, I could've just eaten those and been happy. The steak was a solid prime filet--cooked well and enjoyable, even if it didn't quite steal the show from the tots. Visit #2: I tried the Chef's Charcuterie Board (which, plot twist, is served on a plate... not a board) and the Forklift Fried Chicken. The chicken plate was a little disappointing for me. The collard greens and cornbread were definitely "not how momma made them" (kidding... kind of). Still edible, just not memorable. Both visits left me satisfied, but it's more of a "stroll back" than a "run back" kind of place. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, which always bumps a restaurant up a notch in my book. I didn't try one of their Old Fashioneds--apparently what they're known for--but I did go for the Fire of Mordor cocktail. Tequila-based, delicious, and honestly the name alone sold me. Cozy restaurant, and we had reservations both times even though it wasn't packed. Overall, Forklift is a nice spot to land for a good meal in Tupelo.
