Food generally always satisfactory! Service this time sucked! Tons of empty tables but they had people lined up out the door! Still not sure why! Might have been short staffed but still if you seat people get a menu in their hand and drinks it feels like you 're seen! Had a young lady and a gentleman working the check-in, he spent all of his time bent over looking at the seating diagram but never acknowledged anyone standing, sitting etc! We finally went to the bar area! Our waiter was fantastic! However there were many many tables both in the bar and other area that were not bused and they were still there when we arrived, ate, and left! Another pleasant surprise from a franchise I hadn't visited in approximately ten (10) years. This location seems to always be busy, so we thought we'd give it a try on a Sunday, just before the church crowd let out. I tried the Whisky Bacon Burger, which comes with pepper jack, crispy onions, applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and Fireball whisky infused steak sauce, on a Brioche bun. Overall a great burger, at a fair value. The host, server, and manager (who asked how our experience was) were all warm and friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant, and a standard setup for bar and grill type restaurant. This includes table seating, booths, high tops, and bar. We don't have one locally, but if in the area the Tupelo spot is decent. Good service when we were there, reasonably $, only thing keeping it from a possible 4 stars was the food. I got the all you could eat in Boneless wings. First batch was spot on, second batch wasn't bad. Now the third batch was overcooked, it might have been a hint to get me to quit eating, but that lost them a full star. On the fence on wether or not I'd dine here again. I'm not a local, so was passing through. Need to be better at first impressions if you plan to get tourists back. read more

I came into Applebees with modest expectations, but was met with the highest tier service I've ever had at a place like this. Our server, Dra met us instantly, checked in often, and delivered food and drinks in a timely manner. He even brought my last water in a togo cup unprompted to take back on the road. Our food looked exactly as pictured in the menu and tasted even better. The ambiance is overwhelmingly pleasant, with great music and overall good vibes despite not being too busy. Two managers also came to check in during our meal and made us feel like VIPs. This has to be one of the best-managed Applebee's restaurant with great servers. Everything was perfect! read more

We dropped in here for lunch right after noon on a Tuesday. The place was decently crowded but there were a good amount of tables available. The receptionist was not friendly at all and was very terse. He first attempted to sit us in the bar area even though we had a 10-year-old girl with us. I pointed out an empty booth and asked if we could sit there and he agreed but he was obviously annoyed. However, our server was very friendly. He was very personable and he made sure to understand our order. The food was OK. I ordered a 6oz sirlion cooked medium rare with broccoli and a side salad. The broccoli was good but a small portion. The side salad was also extremely small. The sirlion was cooked at least medium WELL even though I request medium rare. Table partners order the beer burger, sweet potato fries and a wedge salad. Sweet Potato fries were very good but typical. The wedge salad was good and had some really good dressing with blue cheese chunks but gosh it was drenched in the dressing. The burger was very good but it was very light on toppings compared to our expectation from reading the menu description. Overall, this place was OK. The nice server is what tipped this review to the positive side. Otherwise, the food was just mediocre and the price was not a very good value for the portions. read more

We visited this particular location while on vacation here in Tupelo. My husband was sent a e-gift card and proceeded to pay for a our meal with the gift card. While trying to process the gift card, the system kept telling the manager, Melinda, and our waitress, Skyla, that the funds were not available/ unable to process. Miss Melinda was VERY patient with us and explained step by step what the issue was but she also told us that she wouldn't stop until she figured out what the issue truly was. She called her regional and all! We had this issue at a another Applebee's in Clinton and thankfully we had they're regional number and he was able to walk her through it and it processed! We ordered our food and they forgot to put any of the fries with it then we had to drive all the way back because they wouldn't credit the account for the fries. Who ever gives this place good ratings must be on drugs. Terrible service. People who sat down and ordered after us got their appetizers and food before we got our soup. Then upon bringing our food, was notified that my food had gone to the wrong table and had to make mine all over so by the time I got my food my husband and daughter were almost done. Daughters steak was way too chewy, her and I both got the loaded garlic mashed potatoes, flavorless, pretty much inedible. I wouldn't eat mine. After avoiding the Applebees in Atlanta due to bad reviews (service), we were reluctant to try this location but we are glad we did! All five members of our family enjoyed our dinner here last night. (Two people in our group had penne pasta, two had hamburgers, and one had the bourbon chicken and shrimp.) Our food came out hot and was very tasty. Eh, it was ok...not great, but not terrible. I haven't been to an Applebee's in years but one of my guys wanted to go after work. Service was lackluster. We got one of those 2 for $20 deals because we actually wanted things that were both on that menu. That is acutally a pretty good deal. The regular items were $14 a piece. Plus you get an appetizer. So basically we saved $8 then got a free appetizer. Not a bad deal. I got the Cajun Chicken and Shrimp which was actually pretty good. For an appetizer we got the chicken wings. They were honestly pretty mediocre. They tasted like they were microwaved in a bag. In the future I'd rather hit the local places instead. read more

The service has been good every single time, even when something might have been a little wrong it was fixed within minutes and without a single frown or complaint. The manager Britney even did amazing at making sure that everything past that stayed good. Some of the nicest and understanding people that I have ever had wait on me. My initial struggle with this place is the smell of something sour mixed with a nursing home kinda smell, as you walk in the door your nose is seriously assaulted by the rancid smell. The best thing about this place is that you can order and pay on the little table machines, I like that as I don't have to spend ages justifying my odd orders to the wait staff. Smells like a musty old bar. How does somewhere not allow smoking yet still smell like a stale cigarette? The crowd is even more peculiar. we all know the food is pretty much frozen and heated, but it's exceptionally bad. Everything feels like it has a coat of sticky, cheap liquor drinks on it. I had the chance to eat at Applebee's tonight with a church friend of mine. My server was a woman name Keyana. She had 4 tables including mine as well as the large party booth. She had a issue with the large party booth food order they said it was cold. Keyana never broke a smile apologized to the woman and continue to be pleasant and sweet. She constantly keep check on all those tables with the same energy all night. I personally couldn't do it with the people of today and the attitude they have today, yet keyana did it all with a smile. So for pleasant service. When there ask if keyana is working. You want be disappointed. And the food was awesome the drinks were like I would say... To die for. But the server personality and character made the night a one well spent. read more

I stopped coming to this Applebee's about almost a year ago. Figured, why not try it out again, it's been a while. All I can say is WOW! Food...amazing, Staff...amazing. i even had a manager come by and make sure everything was perfect. She uses the word perfect, not good or ok. She made us feel wanted and happy we were there. The floors were clean, bathrooms were clean. I was shocked to see such a difference. We will be back. Kudos to who ever the new managers are. You can tell the atmosphere is much more friendly. Hubby had the beer pub Philly cheese (and I had to have a bite) and it was awesome. I got the Classic-Classic lunch combo: Thai shrimp salad and tomato-basil soup. They were both great, but the soup was just amazing. Creamy and not too acidic. Our server was Jessica and I have to say, she worked behind the bar and was still very attentive and helpful to all of her tables. We will definitely sit near her in the future! We had two managers (maybe one was district?) check in on us several times. Overall, best ever visit to any Applebee's - including Oxford and several in Mobile, AL. Wonderful service. We had about 10 family and friends show up after another restaurant wasn't open. The waitress handle our orders and drinks like she had only 2 customers. Clean restaurant with very nice host staff. I love that they reserve veterans parking space. read more
