Such a wonderful place in downtown New Albany. Truly delicious Italian food. We enjoyed the atmosphere. Modern and inviting. Servers were very helpful and tried to accommodate our requests. The food was great! Very tasty and on par with high class Italian restaurants in larger markets. Way beyond your typical Olive Garden or Carrabbas. More on par with Amerigo, Maggiano's, and local Italian places. Much better than the places I ate in Rome, Venice, and Florence. Of course, Americanized versions are more flavorful in my opinion. I loved the shrimp scampi, chicken Marsala, loaded baked potato casserole, and linguini. Look forward to going back soon and trying their pizzas. read more

Our excellent experience at Nico's started with the warm, friendly service we received from Alyssa. We wanted a fairly light meal and ordered dinner salads. The salmon was deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. The grilled shrimp salad was equally delicious and also perfectly prepared. Alyssa was attentive, helpful and kept us smiling. We could not resist the tiramisu and it was perfect. We would definitely go to Nico's when we are in the area. read more

Very nice restaurant. We went on a Monday night, ate at a high top in the bar area. Service was wonderful! Lighting is relaxing and the noise level was also nice and low, although it was busier than I expected for a Monday. For appetizers we ordered the fried mozzarella which I usually don't even like but it was excellent and calamari-little chewy, will try again bc it might have just been an off night. The hot honey pepperoni pizza was so good! My ribeye was flavorful but not over seasoned and cooked to perfection! Leftovers the next day were tender as well! You get two sides, I ordered the Ceaser salad which was great and asparagus. It was so good and seasoned nicely. I ordered a spicy margarita on the rocks and it was just okay. Let me just start out by saying, this place is AmAzInG! The staff, the ambience, the decor, just overall AMAZING! The food was sooooo good, and top notch quality and hot. The bartender was our server since we sat in the bar area. His name was Coty (with a T). He was so nice, gave us recommendations of what to order, drinks, and etc. I can NOT and do NOT have a bad thing to say about this place. Well. This place was recommended when we Googled dinner in New Albany. We thought, OK, Italian. We arrived at 8:00, two hours before closing. Six of us, in town after a football game. Pretty good wine list, so we ordered a bottle, $110, just so you know we are diners who appreciate a good experience; and a couple of us ordered a cocktail. Then we ordered two calamari appetizers and the fried pickles. Both were OK. We ordered dinner: 3 lasagnas, ravioli, chicken fettuccine and chicken Marsala. And Caesar salads, soup and a couple of sides. The Caesar salad came with giant packaged croutons, and the dressing was in a plastic cup on the side. Loads of shaved Parmesan on the Romaine, probably the best part. Just saying, a salad lightly tossed with dressing is a better presentation. The two people having soup said it was good. The lasagna was described as "fine"; not much flavor and no discernible meat in the sauce. The fettuccine was served with two chicken tenderloins on top, and was described as "Pretty good". The ravioli special was a large portion and also ""Good". The Chicken Marsala was a huge portion, and was served with a big portion of sautéed fresh vegetables, probably the highlight of our table! But really, here's the thing: We were not even close to finishing our dinners when our waiter asked if we wanted anything else, with our tab in hand, and another worker started sweeping the carpet around our table. This is an example of restaurant management not training their employees properly in customer service. And the food was good but not specially prepared or presented. We wanted to like this place but were not impressed. There are probably better choices for dinner in this area. read more

First time trying Nico's. It did not disappoint. My husband and I ordered the Fried Mozzarella for appetizer. They were delicious. We both had the Ribeye for entree. It was perfectly cooked and very tender. The service was amazing. We only had about a 15 minute wait. Everyone was very attentive. The manager came by and welcomed us as well. The ambiance was great. It's very open and welcoming. Everything looked new and clean. This will definitely be a new place on our favorites list. Try it out if you are ever in New Albany. read more

This place came recommended by our hotel and they were spot on. Stayed at Holiday inn Express and it's not far from there. Easy to park near the restaurant. Excellent service and delicious veggie pizza. We will be back. read more
