Best tenders and wings! Nicely remodeled very clean, pleasant people. Forgot about the chicken sandwiches better than anybody's in town. read more

All I can say is WOW, and a whole lot more!!! I came here with an open mind and to compare to another chicken place that I will not name. I am from California where we don't have these restaurants and I was strongly encouraged by my best friend in Ohio to come here in Nebraska off of her relative visiting one in or around London, England. I have to say I loved everything and highly recommend this establishment!!! For starters... I ordered the 5 piece chicken tenders, fries, toast, and drink. The chicken tenders were cooked perfectly and are out of this world! It came with 2 dipping sauces so I got the honey BBQ and Korean BBQ since I am a BBQ sauce junky . I bought one extra sauce which was the garlic parmesian and I used that for dippin' my fries. Also dipped my bread in it too. So yummy! The fries and toast were also made properly and the entire plate was served at a great temperature. To wash it all down I started with a tasty but not too sweet lemonade and on my refill I got a sweet tea. To cap it all off, I had already purchased a chocolate shake. This was even great tasting! Overall experience two thumbs up and definitely 5 stars !!! If I can ever get my daughter to visit here with me, we sure will be back here! read more

Can I give more than 5 stars? Can't get enough of this place. Chicken and fries are always perfect with amount of sauce/seasoning. You need to toss the chicken in a sauce of choice. Slims sauce is always a go to for the fries as well. read more

Slim Chickens - Slim's Meal (tossed in spicy BBQ) - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lincoln, Nebraska

Stopped here after the basketball game. Suprised the tenders were crispy and good. Service was fast, will return again

. Slims chicken is a great family spot, i recently started coming again a couple months ago and it didn't disappoint.Food was out fast, food was good and juicy and fries had good portions. The service was excellent. This is all to be said it's very inconsistent I've gone here a couple times for lunch, and the service has been terrible. The music was loud the workers were rude and the food was as basically thrown at me with the way they handed it out. So going in the morning 11-3 for food is very meh and has always been meh. If you want to experience the best food this place has to offer I would recommend coming here any time past 5 to really enjoy the slims chicken we all know and love. This place is levels times better than the other location and I will definitely recommend this place, AFTER 5 PM any earlier I would say go to any of the spots around here. To try avoiding the bald guy he always creeps me out and also is the person who threw my food out the times I've came in the morning read more

Could be really good. but everything's in such a hurry it's sloppy inconsistent. It's too bad.. too many high school kids working there and no management. read more

A few friends and I heard good reviews about Slim Chickens so we decided to pop in. We were immediately greeted by a friendly worker and an array of menu options like sandwiches, wraps, fried chicken and more. The restaurant was extremely clean and the atmosphere boasted of a modern farmhouse complimented by a stainless steel condiments table and wooden booths/tables. The food came out quick but had a fresh taste, reaffirming that it was cooked upon order, not reheated. My one complaint would be the chicken tenders were a little meager in size. Definitely recommend coming here for a quick bite to eat! read more

The food is consistently good, but if my small child didn't insist on going there for lunch, I wouldn't come back. This restaurant is consistently filthy during the noon hour. The last three times we've eaten here, the tables are all dirty, trash on the floor, the drink counter is dirty and covered in straw trash and spills. I also found an eyelash in my slims sauce immediately after opening it. I want to like this place but it's a hard pass for me until we can dine in a clean atmosphere. read more

The meal was on time and everything but the meal was just not good. The chicken itself was overcooked and tasteless. They also forgot our sauces, the fries were cold and everything just tasted generally blah. They aren't cheap so this was disappointing. read more

During my time in Lincoln, I had to try one of their local chains. I was driving around and passed by a somewhat busy drive thru. Slim Chicken? Never heard of it in Dallas. I decided to try. I like wings more than tenders. The great thing about this place is you can decide on how many wings you want. I ordered 10 Buffalo wings with Ranch sauce on the side. Total was a little over $11. A bit pricy for wings! The flavor was unfortunately very weak. Yes, if it's too spicy I'll have trouble eating it, but this buffalo sauce was terribly weak. It was as if the wings had Buffalo style color on them, with no flavor. The wings weren't as tender as I thought they would be either. A little chewy... and a bit soggy. Not my style. read more

Slim Chickens - 10 Buffalo Wings w/ Ranch - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lincoln, Nebraska

Honestly, the worst wings I have ever had in my life. super dry, overcooked and overpriced. Uber was great with delivery and very prompt. however, I will never eat at the establishment again. Gross! read more

The best place for fast chicken! Not too greasy of chicken or fries, and the chicken sandwich tastes super amazing with the French fried onions on top. They have so many sauce options too! There needs to be more slim chickens out there. Staff was super friendly as well. All around a good experience for the first time going there. My only complaint is that the garlic aioli was a little too much garlic. It was still really good tho! The chicken strips are also extremely large, so 2 chicken strips here is like 6 chicken strips anywhere else. read more

We usually only get slim chickens a few times a year... but apparently all mediocre things must come to an end. The mac and cheese is tasty - and is only around for a few months of the year. My husband ordered an extra tender on his meal.... But ours looked exactly the same. We ordered online and picked up in store and experienced a 10 minute wait after our scheduled pick up time.... And yet, our food was cold. No apologies. We did ask for our tip to be refunded and were told that all tips go to grub hub and not to the store. We will stick to raising canes south in the future.... read more

Okay, I've been here probably 15 times now and I am able to make a more informed review. The chicken strips are amazing. You can get them fried or grilled, or bone in wings. You can have all of them tossed in whatever sauce you want. They always come out hot and fresh. The garlic bread is delicious. Their teas are wonderful. Flavorful and fresh. For me though, and one of the things that sets Slim Chickens apart is their sides. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fried mushrooms and fried Okra. You can get either of these things. And they are not your typical fried mushrooms. The batter is light and crispy and delicious. The fried pickles are also delicious. Also, the lowly french fries stand out and are delicious as well. Now a word about the dessert. WORD! They are amazing. I struggle to get a dessert because I am usually too full, but I am not above buying one or two to take home and share with the family. My first review was kind of a jab at all the haters. But the high praise I held for Slim Chickens stands. Hands down my favorite chicken place in Lincoln. 5 stars. I just wish they had one on the North Side of town. read more

Lincoln's first and ONLY chicken place! Just kidding, its the 231st chicken place but overall, Pretty darn good chicken. This place is another fast casual chicken restaurant featuring chicken and waffles, chicken tenders and chicken wings. They opened last year after their 84th street location and so I thought it was overdue for a review. The good: chicken is fresh, not frozen which is a plus. Not as crunchy or breaded as Raising Canes and unfortunately has very little seasoning in the batter. It's just lightly breaded chicken. I like you can order the chicken naked, with no batter for a healthier option. Good for the waistline. The fries are not bad but nothing that's going to blow you away. They have a seasoning on them that is salt and pepper and maybe a few other subtle spices. A plus is they are very attentive and helpful when you go in vs drive-thru. Inside is HUGE, and seats 85. Some background about Slim Chickens and their history from their manager: Apparently they started in 2003 and only started franchising in 2013/2014. Chicken and Waffles seems to be their signature dish and what they specialize in. The cayenne ranch is probably their best sauce and they have maple syrup for the chicken and waffles. Another plus is all the sides like fried Okra, Fried pickles, mac and cheese, and fried mushrooms. A artery clogging mix of options but I like options ;) They also have sweet tea, peach tea, and raspberry tea along with Coke products which will make the wife happy. They offer catering for large groups. I might give that a try one of these days soon. Worth a visit if in the area, and the dessert are large and tasty. Worth a try as well. If you like my review, hit the like button or compliment and send some warm fuzzies my way! I hope this helps you decide where to go today. read more

The worst service & order accuracy ever... I like the food so I have been back to see if they can redeem the poor service & incorrect order issues... and they failed again. 1st time I came through I ordered potato salad and got fries instead, second time I came through I paid extra for extra dipping sauces and got no dipping sauces, 3rd time I tried the fried pickles and there was so much oil in with the pickles it burned through the styrofoam & could not even be eaten. I asked for a receipt and the cashier let it fly away and looked at me as if I was going to leave my car and chase it across the street and into the ravine and it was a huge issue to reprint. Now the fourth time I asked for ranch like a basic simple request and nooooo they couldn't even get that right and gave me cayenne instead. read more

Slim Chickens - Missing toast. - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lincoln, Nebraska

Slims chicken is pretty tasty. I got some Mac and cheese was absolutely above average. Chicken probably has a better taste than other fast food chicken. The toast needs more work, could use some more butter. read more

Horrible customer service and management, when they got my order wrong. The manager raised his voice at me and basically did not want to help me. Food is always super fresh and the order is always correct. The girls are usually nice.

NO WAY! In the drive-through line for 30 minutes. We were all stuck there, no exit possibility. I totally give grace to businesses who are shortstaffed but this experience was horrific. No apologies or recognition when I ordered. At least put a hand written sign up near entrance to warn of the long wait time. That way people can make a better decision based on their circumstance. Completely missed my sons basketball game due to being stuck in a line that DID NOT MOVE. read more

I tried Slim Chickens for the first time tonight and was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews. I tried the chicken strips, fries, slim sauce and honey mustard sauce. The fries were way better than Raising Canes mostly because I hate crinkle cut fries like the ones that Raising Canes serves. The texas toast was really just regular lightly toasted white breast with butter but I didn't go there for the toast. I really liked the chicken strips even though the breading was really light. The taste reminded me of homemade fried chicken. I usually pull off extra breading on chicken strips anyways. I thought they had enough seasoning. They were extremely juicy and the dipping sauces add extra flavor. They have a variety of dipping sauces including one that is very similar to the only sauce at Raising Canes. My comparison of Slim Chickens and Raising Canes: Chicken strips: Slim Chickens is better Fries: Slim Chickens is better Signature sauce: very similar, but Raising Canes wins Variety of dipping sauces: Slim Chickens Texas Toast: Raising Canes wins Price: they are pretty equal read more

Slim Chickens - 5 piece chicken strips meal with slim sauce and honey mustard. - Chicken Wings Near Me - Lincoln, Nebraska

I have been eyeballing this place since they opened up. Usually busy. They have chicken of course with a variety of dipping sauces that are pretty good. It is a different way to do boring chicken fingers. The desserts are not too bad either. The staff here was very helpful for my first time and picked on my being lost in the sauce, so to speak. Everyone had a genuine smile and great attitude. Overall, good grinds for the whole family. The secret is in the sauce. read more

Nice staff. Bad food. BLAND! BLAND! BLAND! Doesn't even compare to Raising Cane's chicken. The chicken strips are dry, tasteless and have no crispy breading. The fries only taste of salt; they have no other potato or oil flavor. The Buffalo chicken wrap had a very hot spice to it which burned for quite a while but somehow was still bland! (How can you make "hot" still be bland?) It didn't even remotely resemble a Buffalo chicken type of flavor. read more

Kind of expensive for dry chicken strips. It does have a great selection for sauces though.

As a regular customer, Slim Chickens has never disappointed me with anything. I always order the Slim's Meal. Their chicken strips are top-notch. They're baked fresh when you order. It does take a bit longer, but it is so worth the wait. The best thing is that there are several house sauces to dip them in. My personal favorites are the Slim Sauce and Ranch. You can even have your wings or tenders shaken in a house sauce if you want, adding even more flavor. Their Texas toast... best I've ever tasted. Oh, and their fries? Perfect! Their jar desserts are amazing. Best place to go for desert by far. If you join their rewards program and download the app, you can receive points from every purchase that will go towards dollar rewards. Slim Chickens is my absolute favorite place to eat and I very highly recommend it. read more

If your signature is your chicken and chicken tenders they should be good but not so much. Flavorless and very chewy rubberish. Slim Chicken sauce also weird tasting sweet type of sauce I didn't care for. Mac and Cheese I thought was really good, waffle was good and toast was good. Also had the hot wings which were good and good sauce. Won't try again. Raisin Canes is much better. read more

Slim Chickens is amazing! I have converted from Cane's because I like it so much better. Slims offers grilled and breaded strips, more dipping sauces (I love the gravy and cayenne ranch), the fries are consistent and good quality. I like the toast too but it's the only thing Cane's does better. read more

Chicken fingers are super boring and lame. That's why you need good sauces. I save chicken fingers for when I want something bland, that won't excite my stomach. Luckily I live in a place that serves chicken fingers at every gas station, grocery store, and most restaurants. This town is so bland and boring and stupid. I want to ride my horse back to Mexico and engage in shootouts with rival revolutionary factions, not float from lame chicken finger place to lame chicken finger place in boring Lincoln Nebraska. Anyways, Slim Chickens is less droll than everywhere else in this area, as they also have wings and wraps and sandwiches. They have a spicy ranch sandwich that is almost a spiritual experience it is so good. The chicken fingers are delicious, but small compared to other places so depending on who makes your food you may feel a little shorted for the price. But they are awfully yummy, and the slims sauce for dipping is fantastic. Honorable mention chicken and waffle (singular) which is darn good if that is your thing. Also the fried okra, which brought me back to my childhood, pre-civl war when my mama made fried okra in a giant iron pot of oil over an open fire. Now time for this old trailhand to get honest. The room is terribly loud. If a rude inconsiderate family with a gaggle of undisciplined children dines there, the kids fiddling with their chairs makes noise on a cacophonous scale. Honestly any time someone slides out a chair I brace for an industrial accident. Also the last time I was there the chicken fingers were rubbery and chewy in a way I didn't like, made me think they had been frozen and thawed twice. I was too emotional about it to bring it to their attention, and the noise in the place made me want to hurry up and leave so I ate them in tears and left in a sulk. That costed them a star on this review. How dare you make a hardened cowboy like me cry? In public! I hate you Slim Chickens! Just kidding. I don't hate you. I'll be back for the spicy ranch sandwich (drive thru) but probably not the fingers or the dine in experience. read more

This was my first visit and I'm sure to revisit. I got the chicken tender basket with fried pickles and both were excellent. I love fried pickles and that was my main reason for visiting but some places just don't make good fried pickles so I was a bit wary, but these were excellent. The chicken was also very tasty and I got a good amount for my money. Their sweet tea is also awesome. I had a pleasant experience and I will be returning. read more

No delicate way to put this, don't waste your time. . If you want chicken strips Canes is 10x better and more for the money. . SO glad Slim Chickens came to Lincoln! I have never had a bad experience here. Everything I have tried was wonderful. I had the Slims Wrap with grilled chicken and it was very flavorful. Their grilled chicken salad is absolutely wonderful with homemade ranch. Staff is helpful and answer all my dumb questions politely. read more
