***If you are a person with a disability, please do not go here; most especially if you're a disabled Vet*** My family recently went to this establishment to try and get some pizza. We have a service dog that accompanies us due to disability that my parents have. We were told that she is not allowed to accompany us in the restaurant and were then laughed at by the staff when we left after we told them that they are in clear violation of the ADA. It is clearly defined U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division in the Disability Rights Section that Under the ADA, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is allowed to go. People with disabilities who use service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons, treated less favorably than other patrons, or charged fees that are not charged to other patrons without animals. In addition, if a business requires a deposit or fee to be paid by patrons with pets, it must waive the charge for service animals. This restaurant is clearly in violation of the law and we have since reported them to the Department of Justice for their discrimination of a person with a disability. Went in today around 12:45. MY FIRST TIME HERE I SHOULD ADD. Server was rude. We got Mac and cheese, asked for extra ranch( we already knew we'd need it for our other food. ) and Salt and black pepper and hot sauce. Server brought salt and black pepper and slammed it on table. Like okay? I felt like a HUGE inconvenience for her and with an attitude.. don't expect me to be so happy with you if you're in a shit mood towards us. Food took so long to come out. Also on the menu said veggie head calzone 10 and .75 for add on. I asked for no red peppers or olives add arugula and add prosciutto. .75 + .75 is 1.25 I'm not sure how that added up to $14.. my math says 11.25... So please explain. I would have asked our server but like I said she was rude and I was an inconvenience. I cannot tell you how fast I wanted to leave this place. TO ADD TO OUR FANTASTIC 1/10 EXPERIENCE Our server gave herself a nice $4 a tip on my friends receipt. Not sure if she thought she'd get away with that. I didn't know this is how we do it these days. We went here for lunch today and it was awesome! The pizzas are all made fresh to order and they even make their slices fresh. We had three slices of cheese, sausage and spinach and tomatoes. The pizza was very good and I loved their crust because it had a nice chew to it. The interior was very cool with a nice bar and good beer selection on tap. Let me say for starters we enjoyed our pizza. We stopped in for dinner before checking into our hotel in the next town. I must admit my husband and I are still hungry. It could be because our waitress Jessica FORGOT our wings. We understood they were busy and thought she deserved a nice tip, however it went from bad to worse. The water was horrible. It had an aftertaste that lemons could not mask. When we finally got her attention we asked for a drink menu and we needed more napkins as well. Also an older gentleman came in to help out. He was making pizza, then started to sweep and afterwards continued making pizza without washing his hands. SMH! We finally waved down our waitress for the check, we didn't get the wings, drink menu's or napkins. Even though they were busy our waitress still would have gotten a tip if we would have gotten our order correctly. Also we asked for red peppers on our pizza. This place kind of caught me off guard, I went with my children for a day out and we ordered way too much food! We had a pizza for the kids to share and I ordered calzone, wings and a Greek salad. The calzone was more like a whole pizza just folded over and a great item for sharing. My group stopped by to get a table for 5 for both the food and the band they had playing at 9. I was told they had no room for anyone due to the "drunks" coming in. I asked if our name could be placed on a wait list. I was told that it was impossible due to the "drunks" coming in and just taking a seat. It was Octoberfest downtown. ughhhhhh. I wanted to LOVE this hip little place in Old Town. I called to make a reservation a few days before & was told "We won't be able to accommodate your group because we already have a large table coming in." ......so, I asked to speak to a manager, and she said OF COURSE we could make a reservation. The other issue we had was "Happy Hour" There is a LARGE chalkboard sign right by where we were sitting and it just said "HAPPY HOUR BUY ONE GET ONE!" So heck yea! We ordered drinks (as fast as we could) during the happy hour time frame. When the bills came.....none of us received happy hour drink rates. The server quickly snapped back at us "None of you ordered two drinks in the happy hour time frame." ....Wait... I ordered my first drink at 5:05, are you telling me it was an hour before I got my second drink? ...I don't think so...unless service was even slower than I could remember. ...She then came back and said "Actually it's only wells drinks on happy hour." WAIT! Which is it? And why isn't the sign more clear!? Ugh. I won't be back. Too bad. The best thing about this place is that they serve Grgich Hills wine. read more

I was here for lunch today. They have a slice of the day and you can build your own slice. The flavors are kind of "off". Today I had the hearts of romaine salad and a slice with tomatoes and basil. They put diced parsley on (all over) both the salad and the slice - parsley has an overpowering flavor - it took away from both dishes. They put an orchid on the salad plate - kind of weird for Italian/ american food. Also, they tried to "grill" the romaine. It just tasted burnt and had a carbon flavor to it. I bet they would do different with a different head chef/ cook. Also, they seem to have a lot of staff milling about. I should say I actually tried going in for dinner last night, but the kitchen was closed. It was a bit early for a kitchen to be closed - 7:45 pm on a Monday night. I find pizza to be overly subjective, so I'm more forgiving on my judgment. Slice has a cool vibe and ambience inside. It's industrial loft style decor is inviting The menu has good options outside of pizza. Ingredients were fresh, crust was pretty good, sauce was halfway there. I wasn't a fan of the pepperoni...more something for a hoagie than pizza. I think they could stand a hotter oven for more crusty goodness on the bottom of the pie, but overall, not a bad choice. read more

My family of four went just after the typical lunch hour. There was plenty of seating. Our hostess was our waitress and we were promptly seated. I'll add that we aren't from Idaho and dont know the area. The neighborhood is charming and appears to be halfway through an upswing in revitalization. We merely found the place by searching for pizza on Yelp. The kids' menu is kind of sparse. Three dishes to choose from: a slice of pepperonni or cheese pizza, spaghetti with maranara or angel hair with herb butter. It would be nice to see some variety like meatballs, mac and cheese or chicken tenders. The regular menu looked great and I had to really keep myself from trying some yummy appetizers. My wife and I both ended up ordering a calzone. She got the pepperoni calzone and I got the meathead (photo attached). The kids' pasta arrived first. It was pretty plain. It consisted of a bowl of noodles with sauce on top. It would have been better to see a piece of garlic bread with the lonely looking dish. The sauce is a very light sauce which usually I don't care for as I like a robust sauce. However it was still good and my kids loved it. My wife's calzone arrived first. It came on a pizza pan and took up half the pan. Initially I thought both of our calzones were on the same pan because they were so big. I could smell the garlic butter that was brushed on to the knotted crust. The crust was light and flaky. The calzones came with a side of the same marinara sauce that was on my kids' spaghetti. The calzones were fantastic. Curiously, I did not see or taste any riccotta on the calzones. The mozzarella more than made up for it. The Italian sausage was fantastic. I have been here twice and I will say that my fiancé and I had the chipotle chicken pizza the second time and it was so hot it was almost inedible. My whispered reaction upon leaving was ... "We could have gone to ... ." For me, one unpleasant experience in a restaurant is a one-time event resulting in ... no return. this restaurant has really gone down hill. I ordered a spinach artichoke bowl at $13.00 to be delivered. I got a small go container with some dip in it along with a few slices of flat bread. I called the business and told them they made a mistake on my order. she told me "we don't carry bread bowls anymore" so you charge full price for something on your menu that you don't have and then give me crap bread that won't even hold up to the dip? they didn't offer to make it right in anyway. she actually acted like she was put out that I would call with a complaint. also when you eat in house they charge more on your bill than what the menu prices are and seem to think that's okay. I've called them on it a couple times and have had them take the extra charges off, but how many people do they do this to and get away with it? I will never visit slice or give them a dime of my money in the future. poor poor business practices. read more

I guess this place just felt overpriced for what it is; uninspired pizza in a brewpub environment (though they don't actually brew). This place was mostly fine and frankly a lot of this review has to do with perceived value but I can't help but leaving this place more than a little dissatisfied. Perhaps it's just that I expect more out of a place with 4 1/2 Yelp stars (as of 7/14/14)? Certainly a desire to help unskew their ridiculously high rating is a part of my review. If this place had a more reasonable 2 and a half stars, this is about the quality level I would have expected. Maybe people are so charmed by the brick oven that they overlook everything else? The mediocre ingredient quality (dry cardboardy dough, run of the mill foodservice toppings, bland sauce) leaves a lot to be desired. Like the food, the decor and atmosphere of the place we're just blah. Maybe I should temper my expectations when trying to find a good pizza joint in a small town in Idaho? Hmmmm...not sure what to make of this...décor is awesome, if a bit dark inside, leading one to think this is more a drinking place (which fits right in with the general Twin Falls motif of a drinking town) than anything, but it's sort of a by-the-slice place...except only on certain pies. I did also admire the inventiveness of their menu, which featured a few combinations I hadn't seen prior. Calzones are not like a lot of the calzones I'm used to seeing and the pizza sauce is sweet, which took a lot of getting used to. I got the Hawaiian calzone and modified it and it was...in need of peppers and the Parmesan...ain't gonna lie there. Crust was the better part of this pizza, which struck me as a shame, as this place has really solid potential, but as good as this crust was, I'm thinking that no one buys pizzas just for the crust and if the actual toppings and components don't deliver, you just have a mass of dough and at that point, maybe just open a bakery. As a pizza place, ambiance was good, if slightly goofy, service was the same, drink selection, discounting beer, kind of a throwaway and the pizza itself under-delivered. Stopping in at Slice was a perfect way to warm up in a cold winter day. The pizza here has excellent crust! The balance of sauce and toppings allows the flavors of the quality ingredients in this pizza to shine. I had their slice of the day which included salami, green onions and mushrooms. The food tastes above average, for overpriced pizza, etc. Somewhat expected due to the location (if that's really possible in Twin Falls, ID). My biggest disappointment was having to ask the staff to fulfill the men's restroom with soap, at least 4 times - and it still wasn't done by the time we left. Like most people, I wash my hands before eating. What's worst is hoping the cooking staff didn't have access to soap for washing their hands, before handling my food. Our server, Sarah, was impressively attentive. This review is for all who are Gluten intolerant. No, Celiac Disease is not a fad and it's not to be taken lightly. Even the slightest cross contamination can make someone with CD miserably ill for several days. I was very impressed by the attention our server gave us when I told her that my husband has CD, so it was of utmost importance that the cook doesn't cross contaminate the gluten free pizza we were ordering. I witnessed her emphasize to the cook to wear new gloves, clean the surface, and make sure there was NO cross contamination to the pizza. I could hear her stressing to the cook that my husband is extremely allergic to gluten and she doesn't want him getting sick. I wish I would've caught our servers name, all I can recall was that she was originally from Wyoming. I can't express how thankful I was that someone finally got it and understood that the need for gluten free food, and not cross contaminating it, was not a joke. So, we got the meat head gluten free pizza, and my hubby loved it. He smiled and said that it was so nice to be able to eat like a normal person for a change. 99% of the time, we have to eat at gome, just so he doesn't get sick. But today, we were running errands, far from home and HUNGRY. With sincerity, thank you Slice, for hiring such a proficient and personable employee. And thank you, you awesome server from Wyoming, for making my hubby smile. That seriously meant the world to me! **UPDATE** So I returned on 5/9/16 for my birthday, since I knew my hubby could eat here. I was disappointed to hear that there was no way to clean the oven to avoid the cross contamination, but I 100% appreciated our waitresses honesty and I totally understand how expecting them to clean the oven for 1 pizza would not be a reasonable request. My husband ended up having a salad and getting something more substantial to eat elsewhere afterwards. Nice restaurant downtown. There's a shaded patio area that is very nice! Service is good. Bruschetta is AMAZING. And the pizza is even better! Went for lunch in the summer, but looks like it would be happening at night on the weekends too. Definitely glad we decided to eat here! read more
