First off, I came for a late lunch/snack and a beer. I had tried their Hefeweizen at another establishment and enjoyed it, but the Golden Girl is really great. Second the tempura cauliflower with the hot honey coating is something to come back for in the future. The cauliflower coating stayed crispy even towards the end, and the flavor was sweet and spicy in a good a perfect amount for myself (which I wanted a little heat and not too sweet). I would come back here for another try at the food and beer. I almost forgot, service was great. I sat at the bar and had just the right amount of attention and conversation. Loved the knowledge shared about the tempura cauliflower dish as well as the different beers. The interior was nice and just cool enough to cool you down without freezing you out. My husband and I loved this place! After driving all day we were starving! Greeted quickly and sat, ordered a tequila drink and house beer (drinks were great!) Super cool space! Our server Emiliano made great recommendations , he was friendly & funny! Then the food!! Next level brewery food!! Husband had Ribs & Onion Rings , I had Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich w/ saucy garlic fry's! We both said "this is how you want ribs to taste all the time !'" The onion rings tasted fresh too! Milner's Gate is a laid back local brewery with even better food! I discovered Milner's Gate on TripAdvisor, and I can confidently sing their praises. Milner's Gate is located in downtown Twin Falls in a historic looking building. There isn't a designated parking lot, but we had no trouble with street parking. You can't beat free! We stopped by for lunch, and our server was personable and friendly, although she wasn't very knowledgeable about beer. She offered recommendations based on what she's been selling, and we loved the Banjo Shredder IPA and Boot Check Pale Ale. We even took home a 4-pack of the Banjo, which the bartender poured and packaged right from the tap. For lunch, we ordered the Pulled Pork Idaho Nachos, Blackened Salmon Cesar Salad, and Beef Short Rib Ramen Bowl. The Pulled Pork Idaho Nachos were a "shareable", but this could definitely be an entree considering how huge the portion was! This was our favorite dish of the day, maybe even our Idaho roadtrip, and we're still dreaming of those crispy sidewinder fried potatoes. The ramen was surprisingly sweet, but still an interesting and innovative dish. Very nice place. We sat on the high chairs bar side of patio with our dog. Waiter brought water to him while we enjoyed craft beers and a peach sangria. Service was very personnable and food was excellent, ribs and onion rings, Caesar salad with blackened salmon. Ambiance is trendy but still down to earth brewery style when sitting outside. This is my second time going while in town. I had a weird interaction with the host basically telling me a spot was open at the bar that clearly was not, so I just waiting for a table. They seemed annoyed I needed a table for 1 person but there wasn't any space at the bar. I was SO excited to get the butternut squash ravioli as my friend got it last time and I really wanted to get it this time. but sadly it wasn't fully cooked.. I don't know where to find a great steak in Idaho. Reviews were good but not our experience. Ribeye was ok seasoned properly but tuff for medium rare. House salad was good. Our waiter was terrible, older guy, balding didn't get his name. Ordered a toffee dessert and the bus boy had to remind the waiter after about 20 minutes. How does a restaurant run out of ice cream? Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Brewery Tour Stop 7, Stop 5 of 7 for Idaho We popped in with about 40min til close & were immediately greeted/ adv the kitchen was closed. We were really just looking to get our book stamped & this stop was quite the drive from the hotel, so we'd munched along the way. It does appear that the kitchen is worth trying tho, on a side note We each ordered our selection and both were good. One of the owners, Christopher, took note of the US Passport Book & chatted us up. He was excited to share about the Brewery, brew process, equipment and history. He gave us a tour. The building is really lovely and expansive. I don't know that we'll ever make it back, as it's so far out for us but I'd certainly recommend swinging in if you're out that way. read more

Cauliflower crust pizza, and short rib Ramen were absolutely better than expected, we will return for both. Had to do a double take on the price of my martini, I thought it was happy hour. Nice decor and bar, friendly staff, good beer. Large restaurant with plenty of empty tables but my husband and I were unfortunately seated next to a very large and very loud party. Could barely hear my husband talk. It would have been nice for them to offer us a table on the patio. Service was slow, it took 10 mins just to get water, probably due to the party. My husband said the meatloaf was really good, but my King salmon wasn't that great and was listed as a signature dish. The salmon was too fishy for my taste and the leek butter sauce was pretty bland with no acid, not a hint of citrus and no lemon on the plate. We ordered Caesar salads instead of the one included side. The salads were fine but came in small bowls and would have benefitted from some fresh Parmesan and pepper on top. For the price point, it would have been nice to get another side like potatoes or vegetables since the side salad costs extra and was such a small portion. Overall, it was pretty average but could be great if tightened up a bit. read more

When I checked into my hotel in Idaho Falls, I asked the front desk where I should eat. One person recommended a spot next door, but the woman checking me in quietly leaned in and said, "Go to Milner's Gate. It's better food." That was enough for me. From the name, I expected a standard pub feel. Instead, the space is open, modern, and clearly put together with care. I sat at the bar as a solo diner and asked what I should order. The bartender asked how hungry I was and told me to get the ramen. I hesitated, thinking I might need something else alongside it, but I'm glad I listened. The Beef Short Rib Ramen Bowl delivered. The short ribs were tender and rich, the broth savory with depth from garlic, ginger, and chili. The jammy egg was perfect, and the pickled Fresno peppers balanced the bowl well. One bowl was more than enough. I also had a couple cocktails, and they were spot on. This is a place I would absolutely come back to and bring people with me. If you're in Idaho Falls and want something that goes beyond standard brewery fare, Milner's Gate is worth it. read more

We would have had another but our waitress never came back nor did she check on us. We went inside to pay bill that took over 10 minutes to even get acknowledged. My wife and I have been to Milner's many times. We love to sit in the bar by the windows and watch people and cars go by as we have a drink and nice dinner. The food is always terrific. I'm usually a beef and potatoes guy, but on our server's strong recommendation I ordered the seafood pasta. OMG! A revelation! Shellfish in a cream sauce with garlic and just the right amount of seasonings. My wife is a little picky and often defaults to a burger. The brie fig burger is a classic. The atmosphere that Milner's gate has to offer is very unique, there are multiple levels with the brewing equipment exposed offers a modern/industrial vibe but still very comfortable. The food here is executed on a professional level, everything we ordered tasted amazing. The drinks are a little pricey but worth every penny, delicious. My wife and I really enjoy going to Milers Gate for special occasions. Tonight we celebrated our anniversary. The service was fantastic. The burger and oysters saved the day! First time visiting Idaho and we really didn't know where to dine. The options on Yelp were somewhat limited, so we ended up at Milners Gate. For starters we order the oyster shooters, which were good. The oysters were flown in from Puget Sound and were very fresh. They were served in a shot glass with mango-cilantro salsa and lemon. We arrived at the restaurant at around 1:30pm, a time when they were still serving the brunch menu. Too bad, because we were really looking forward to trying the elk gumbo that we saw on Yelp. The brunch menu was very limited, so we ended up with brie and fig burger and an arugula chicken salad. About 15 minutes after we placed our order they switched to the full dinner menu. Bummer! The arugula chicken salad was over drenched with a lemon vinaigrette dressing. While the dressing was good, I could have gone with just 1/4 of it. It was like eating a mouthful of dressing, just nasty! I asked for an extra bowl of plain arugula and our waitress brought some over, but I could've used 2 more bowls! The brie and fig burger was great and very obvious they used fresh beef! The shoestring fries were extra crispy and well seasoned. The beer, all of them, were a disappointment, considering they were brewed in-house. We ordered a 16oz of their "Banjo Shredder" #5, which was supposed to be a hazy IPA, but it was barely hazy. We also ordered a flight of beer, each 4oz. We sampled the "Blackadar" American Scout, "Home Alone" Hefeweizen, "Idahop" NW Hazy IPA, "Fall Down" Brown Ale, and Golden Girl" Blonde Ale. I don't have plans to visit Idaho again anytime soon. Even then, the likelihood of me returning to this restaurant is 0%. For people who live nearby or plan to visit Twin Falls, stick to the burger and oysters and you won't be disappointed. If you order the salad, ask for a side of dressing and adjust according to your taste. Hold the beer, and do not drink the water (horrible faucet water)! read more

We went for a friend's birthday party and we were seated in the upper area. Waitress (Alana-sp?) was fantastic and on top of everyone's drink and menu orders timely. When the food arrived, it was seasoned perfectly and heard several other "reviews" at the table starting how wonderful everything tasted. Alana specifically came and asked if my steak "was great" and if it just needed "a little bit more" and made sure I was happy with the steak and temperature (I had asked a few questions if they really cooked to proper temperature/medium etc") it was right on and delicious.
