We have come to love their food and while we might be on this ridiculous lockdown so we cannot dine in their take out/Togo service is fantastic. They offer delivery locally as well but we like to go for the short ride to grab it. The pizza is phenomenal though at times can be a little extra oily/greasy even as just a cheese pizza but overall the taste is killer. My wife likes their pizza and pierogies. She had their Italian sub and wasn't a big fan. She said it was ok but not her favorite. I have also had a few subs and while their chicken Parm sub is good it's not the best I have and probably doesn't rank top 5. Maybe in top 10, maybe not. We have also tried their breadsticks which are ok but not something we would order regularly. We are looking forward to dining in and trying more of the options they have. It's hard when pizza is a family favorite and money is tight. An XL 1 topping pickup special pizza for 14.54 with tax for dinner is hard to beat.

We're here for the pizza. The pizza with the adorably tiny pepperonis that curl up into little meat chalices of joy. Like, who authorized this level of cuteness on a pizza? I want to scoop them off and put googly eyes on them. But I won't. Because I eat them too fast. And then there's the ranch. Ohhhh the ranch. If this ranch were a person, I'd propose under a sunset. I could BATHE in it. If my bathtub ever mysteriously smells like garlic and dreams, don't ask questions. Just know I'm happy. Our friend always tries to make conversation like "how's life?" and "how's the family?" Meanwhile I'm 8 slices deep, covered in ranch, nodding like a feral goblin. She could tell me she moving to Peru and I'd just ask if she could grab me another slice before she goes. Please. Try this pizza.

We drive out from Monroeville just to grab their pies. Located in Squirrel Hill, parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there is a pay-to-park lot across the street tucked behind the businesses. Also, with old school class, Mineo's is cash only. They do have an ATM right in the store - in case you forgot. Dynasty loading - as they now have 4 shops including one directly in the Pittsburgh Airport (check their updated box logos with an airplane flying around!) All day. All year. Always- I would think to give Mineo's five stars, but this order was disappointing. The crust was over floured and lifeless, the cheese was missing the signature flavor pack of herbs, and the toppings were very clumped together under the cheese... but even these nitpicks- this place is a must go to! We ordered three large (and yes, that's a large large) pizzas - mushroom, extra cheese, and pepperoni. They are renowned for their thick layer of cheese with the toppings buried beneath. And this time, all of the pieces were well cut - which is rare. Service was quick. They know how to move through the takeout orders and even if they don't, pull up a seat and enjoy the theater of pizza making that you can witness in the expansive dining area.

The crust was crunchier than I would have liked and I could have used more of the buffalo, but overall not a bad pizza place at all, but there are better spots. They have a decently diverse menu with all the pizza place standards: pastas, pies, calzones, wedgies, and more. I ordered the small plain cheese calzone. This place is pretty average, but that doesn't mean it's bad. The calzone was definitely good. It's just that nothing really stood out. This is the sort of food you'd want to eat as a college student (which makes sense, they have a location in Oakland). The calzone was not expensive, but I've had better deals before. Size was okay at 10" for $13 if you get a small. They use a pretty significant amount of what seems like butter on top. It was a little soggy, but not terribly so. They did stuff the calzone with loads of cheese and it had a good ratio of mozzarella to ricotta. There was cheese near the crust fold too, which I haven't seen too often. Fairly standard tomato sauce included on the inside and good packaging. All in all, definitely not bad and it hit the spot. If you want pretty cheap but standard pizza or similar items, check this place out. The calzone was pretty tasty.
