When you're spending your hard-earned money on furniture, you expect a company to be upfront and honest about when you can expect to receive it. Apparently, that's asking too much. The biggest issue was the delivery scheduling. Their website advertised delivery dates that didn't match what I was being told by their employees. How can you advertise one thing online and then tell customers something completely different after they've placed an order? To make matters worse, trying to get the situation resolved was another headache. Instead of making things right, the entire experience felt like one inconvenience after another. I understand that delivery schedules can change. What I don't understand is the lack of clear communication and the misleading expectations. Customers shouldn't have to chase down answers or waste their time trying to figure out when their furniture will actually arrive. *Bob's needs to understand that customer service doesn't end once they have your money.* A good price means very little when the buying experience is this frustrating. I would seriously think twice before purchasing from Bob's again. The furniture might be discounted, but apparently, so is the customer service.

We are sticklers for quality in the sea of particle-board furniture offered at the local 800-pound gorillas. Kincaid's furniture is always made from the best materials (solid hardwood and durable leather) and is in a separate (higher) class in comparison to what is available elsewhere. We also have had two minor furniture malfunctions (one due to a toddler harming wood on a stool and the other due to doors not properly aligning on a hutch) and both times Kincaid stood 100% behind their piece and either repaired and/or replaced the damaged items, hassle-free. But I'm happy to say that getting our mattress at Mattress Xpress was probably the most pleasant "big purchase" shopping experience I've had. The showroom is absolutely massive, and no one was hanging around, watching our every move as we tried them out. We did meet Karl, and he directed us to some we'd like and answered any questions we had, but he mostly let us figure it out for ourselves, which was great because we were probably there for 1.5 hours going back and forth between our favorites. We ended up getting a great deal on a king size latex mattress. And even though it was one of the most expensive mattresses in their store, it was sooo much less than what you'd pay for a latex mattress elsewhere, and even less than a mid-range mattress at a big name store. We used to come back from traveling wishing that our bed at home was as comfortable as one in a hotel. Now that's reversed and our bed at home is more comfortable than any hotel.

I decided upon a set by a maker who I was told was reliable, and that the set would typically arrive in roughly 3 weeks. Given the problems with labor and delivery these days, I waited 5 weeks until checking back, and I discovered the table had just arrived overnight, and delivery was immediately scheduled. Not only did the delivery come on time, they were early. They were certainly eager to try to get me to purchase more, extolling the quality and value of everything I walked by (welcome to furniture selling). Yes, I'll agree with the quality, but quite frankly, a lot of what they are selling just isn't of a style of interest to me. Though I'll certainly stop in a few more times to check what's offered when I'm looking for more furniture, and I will personally focus on in-stock items, because they have a much shorter delivery time.

We set it up for delivery and waited patiently for it. The guys dropped it off and left and we set it up ourselves. After getting the bed in place and the sheets on we realized that it wasn't the mattress we ordered. We went back to the store and talked to the manager. He had us take a picture of the tag and send it to him. The tag matched the one we should have gotten but was definitely incorrectly tagged. The delivery guys came back, picked up the mattress, delivered the right one and we were set. I didn't ask for it but I think the store should have offered us some compensation for our time running back to the store and spending 2 Saturdays at home waiting for delivery but they did make it right and we're all sleeping better.

When I first moved here, knowing Macy's had consistent products I came here; I purchased a mattress and box spring. Macy's always has a large variety of quality products, and is exceedingly dependable in delivery with repeated notification updates. On site in Colonie the staff were courteous, interested, and very helpful. I bought an area rug: they had a wide variety of Orientals of genuine quality with competitive prices. The Indian rug I purchased is handsome and of high quality and the salesman was amazing patient and wanted to be sure I explored many options and that was totally satisfied. (I worried that I was taking up too much of his time.) When I needed to purchase a gift that my wife and I wanted to make of gold knot earrings the jewelry department had a wide variety of 14k gold earrings --and of this specific type-- and of good quality. The sales people were responsive, helpful, friendly, and incredibly efficient without seeming to hurry me. Macy's is solid; the staff in Colonie Center are good.
