We recently purchased a bedroom set from Mooradians. After a couple of days we realized the style of the footboard of the bed we chose wouldn't work for us. When I reached out about the issue with Emily, I was honestly unsure how it would be handled. Not only did Emily take my concerns seriously, but she went above and beyond by offering an exchange and even arranging a temporary bed while we wait for the new one to arrive. That level of care, responsiveness, and professionalism is truly rare--especially for such a significant purchase--and we really appreciate it. Truly great customer service. read more

I purchased a sofa from Mooradians and noticed the arms leaning in and the middle sagging after a little use. Called Mooradians and they agreed to pick it up to repair it.  It was brought back after they added the center supports that were missing when it was originally delivered.  We were told by their service guy and Bill Mooradian himself that we had removed the center supports that were missing.  An unbelievable claim that we vehemently deny.  The arms looked better on the returned sofa but definitely not completely straight.  The bottom was not straight across the 3 sections and the sofa rocked.  Even within 1 section that is less then 2 feet across it was off by over 1 inch and that is very noticeable.  That is a sign to me that the frame was bent because of the missing support and they hadn't addressed it.  I talked directly with Bill Mooradian and he claimed it was perfectly fine to be that uneven but reluctantly agreed to take it back again. It came back again with little change in the uneven bottom that is still very noticeable and it still rocked.  We were told both times to use the sofa and the rocking would eventually settle out. Plus on one side the power recliner wasn't working.  Their service guy came out again and found where a wire was loose under the sofa from when they worked on it.  I showed him where it wasn't even across the bottom and he claimed that he wasn't told to make it even across the bottom . That was the whole reason they had taken it back to repair it! He would talk to Bill Mooradian about it and one of them would get back to me.  That's several months ago and they never got back to me! They deliver a defective product with missing center supports and then won't repair the resulting bent frame.  Bill has claimed that they often come from the factory like this but ours was not delivered all out of whack and we went back to the store to look at the same sofa on the showroom floor. The arms were straight and it was perfectly straight all the way across the top and the bottom of the sofa.  Beware of their terrible customer support and failure to stand behind their product. Ugh, I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but this is a little much. Was told it was to be between 8-12 weeks for delivery...we are on week 16 and still no furniture....4 months lol...and now told " oh , it looks like it's been pushed back a bit now going to be another 2 weeks" ...and THAT is our " hope"...so it turns into 18 WEEKS! Omg stop! GO ELSEWHERE...THIS IS INSANE.The customer service rep told me they will " waive" our delivery fee lol ( the fee we were told we WOULD NOT BE CHARGED) because we live in close enough proximity it would not apply lol I cant make this sh*#@! Up lol Funny too, because I was in touch with the owner 2 weeks ago and thought about bringing this up on held back because I didn't want to be " that person". Oy vey. read more

I purchased a power section in 2019. I was concerned about the power aspect and items breaking, so I purchased a 5 year warranty. One of the recliners broke in the up position during covid. Not Mooradians fault, but it took forever to get a tech to come fix it. It broke again shortly thereafter and another tech had to come fix it again. It now has TWO broken sections and Mooradians washed their hands of it and told me the warranty only covers accidental damage. They certainly offered a tech to come look at it if I paid for a service visit. Considering the unit is 4 years old and has broken 4 times, I felt that was a poor customer service decision. When I spent $2500 on a sectional I expected it to last a few years without breaking, but clearly I was wrong. I was wrong about Mooradians too and will not be shopping there again. read more

Don't spend your money here. The expensive / over-priced bedroom set (Brand Yutzy Woodworking) we purchased from Mooradian's in Albany arrived months late and smelled terrible. When they delivered it the wood finish wasn't finished curing! They said the smell would go away quickly. It smelled so bad we couldn't sleep in our bedroom for 60 days, then it still smelled! Our old bedroom furniture was removed and replaced with the new set. They're only suggestion was to take it back to their warehouse to let it off-gas. No return and no refund. Then we found 2 drawers were not closing all the way and the doors on the armoire were not lined up. They sent a guy out who tried to align the doors and said he ordered some parts for the drawers. He never returned and never followed up. When I called the store, they had no record of it but would send another guy out. That never happened. read more

What a huge mistake ordering from this store. Here's the bottom line - the staff is absolutely OK with misleading you on delivery timelines so long as they keep you from canceling their order and retain their commissions and sales. Wife and I went to this location to order a living room set back in January 2021. We were told to expect a delay (fine) of about 6-8 weeks to receive our order since it was all custom. On the very very far totally conservative absolute worst case scenario end of that it might be 12 weeks (because "COVID"). Ok. Sounds good. The original date of delivery given was 4/25/2021 8 weeks passes. When we follow up, we're told that there are unforeseen delays "due to COVID". It should be another 6-8 weeks from that time to get the order in our hands. Ok. No big deal. We understand. 8 passes again. We follow up. "Due to unforeseen delays from COVID. It will be another 6 to 8 weeks". Um, alright. This goes on until about June. We make another call to check in and are told to expect yet another 4 to 6 week delay. Finally we are starting to have enough, so we ask for details. Why is it still taking so long? Who is causing the delay? Have they made any guarantee on the timeline? Very reasonable stuff. Our sales rep, Sam, says he will get back to my wife. He doesn't get back to her. At this point, we're thoroughly annoyed. We're pushing 25 weeks since we placed the order, and double the "worst case scenario" delivery date. I am ASSURED that our items are being shipped from the manufacturer to the store and will be arriving "late to mid August". I'm sensing lies, so I ask why the courier wasn't able to give an affirmative date rage if everything was actually shipped and in transport. It didn't make sense. Finally, the sales rep let's it slip that only one item of the order has actually been completed and the rest has no firm ETA. That it MIGHT be completed by late August. So at this point, we're looking at October as a realistic delivery timeline. So we went from April, to October, while being strung along the whole way. I told him I was interested in canceling the order and asked if anything could be done to keep my business. The owner graciously offered to discount our order $100 (on a $7,700 order). They probably collected more than that on the interest on our deposit. How customer oriented they are there! Look, COVID happened. There are delays everywhere. We all understand. Everyone has to deal with this problem. What I cannot tolerate is dishonest and slimy sales individuals who will say anything to keep you from taking back their commission including straight up misleading you about the timeline of delivery. If it's truly so that their manufacturer mislead them about the dates (as they claim), they should be filing breech of contract complaints with them, not passing the pain on to the customer. Have some integrity. You can also really tell the owner cares about his customers because he told us to take a hike when we suggested we would take our business elsewhere. Glad you really care about your customers, guys! Hope it's worth it. read more

My husband decided we needed a new mattress and found one on sale at Mooradian's. We went to the store, checked out a couple of sets and picked one out. We set it up for delivery and waited patiently for it. The guys dropped it off and left and we set it up ourselves. After getting the bed in place and the sheets on we realized that it wasn't the mattress we ordered. We went back to the store and talked to the manager. He had us take a picture of the tag and send it to him. The tag matched the one we should have gotten but was definitely incorrectly tagged. The delivery guys came back, picked up the mattress, delivered the right one and we were set. I didn't ask for it but I think the store should have offered us some compensation for our time running back to the store and spending 2 Saturdays at home waiting for delivery but they did make it right and we're all sleeping better. read more

We recently had an experience with Mooradian's that left us feeling uncomfortable. In February, we visited the store and selected a new Ekornes Stressless recliner. These are very high quality chairs, a fact that is reflected in the astronomical price - but we knew that going in. The salesman explained that the chair would be a special order item and would be delivered in early May. When he quoted the price, he noted that it was higher than the prices listed on the display models in the store, but justified the increase by saying that the manufacturer had modified the design for 2020 models to include a power headrest that had not been offered in prior years. OK - we believed him and placed the order. Then COVID19 happened. Mooradian's called in early May to say that the chair was in, but because of the lockdown, they could not deliver it. OK - everything was on hold, so this was understandable. In early June, they called to schedule the delivery. They arrived within the designated time window, and brought in the chair. First problem - the delivery guy didn't have the 'power pack' to enable the reclining function to work. A few phone calls later, they reported that the power pack had been located. They agreed to send someone out with it, and several hours later, someone arrived with the required power pack. Second problem - the chair didn't have the power headrest feature that the salesman had offered as the explanation for the fact that the actual price was greater than the price posted in the store (and that was described on the paperwork we received). A few more phone calls happened, including a conversation with Bill Mooradian who explained that Ekornes does not offer a power headrest on the chair we bought. He could not explain why the salesman said what he said, or why the order paperwork mentioned a power headrest. He promised to talk to the salesman the next day, but we never heard anything further from anyone. Frankly, I would have expected to at least receive a phone call from the salesman apologizing for the confusion and offering a better explanation. I should mention that we have had a similar chair for many years that we bought from a different store. An additional observation is that the older chair came with a ton of literature on features, operations, care and maintenance. The new chair from Mooradian's came with nothing at all other than a folder, in a zillion different languages, that says little more than 'thanks for buying this chair'. We are very happy with the chair, but the transaction left me wondering - was this just an example of lousy communications and irresponsible customer relations, or did we actually get taken advantage of. But regardless,I suspect we will be hesitant about going back to Mooradian's. read more

Avoid them. Dishonest folks. We viewed a sofa in store and placed an order for a new one. When they brought the sofa in for delivery they brought in the store display one. Make sure you thoroughly check your furniture upon delivery and refuse delivery if they try to pull a fast one on you. read more

The majority of the deliveries of new furniture have been delayed from the promise date and poorly communicated. Delivered furniture has been damaged by the delivery people and although attended to by their staff, the work didn't last. Warranty service on a repair had to be dropped off and picked up by us - three weeks was the promise turnaround, the actual was six weeks on a three hour repair job. The item was returned with scuffs that were not there when first returned. They offered no receipt for taking the piece back - I had to create my own or I would have had no proof they had it. Based on my discussions with management, in my opinion, the delays are caused by poor relationships with their vendors, just like their customers. read more

After waiting four months for my chairs they came the wrong color. I called the store they said I have to wait another 6 weeks for my chairs. I called the store in albany to see if the manufacturer can compensate me for my troubles especially when I had to pay again for my insurance. Well Mr. Bill Mooridians started yelling on the phone that he doesn't have to compensate me for anything and he doesn't care if I don't ever go back to his store. Wow after you take my money and this is how you treat customers. Well I promise you as long as I have a warranty you will have to deal with me. As far as any other business you won't have to and anyone I know I will let them know. Do not go there especially if you are a minority. They will treat you like shit after they get their money. read more

As soon as I opened the door to Mooradian's, Jane swooped in. People working on commission makes for a miserable shopping experience and employees need to learn that you are much less likely to get a sale if you bother a customer incessantly. Jane asked if I needed anything and I said no thank you. She asked if I was looking for anything in particular and I said no I just wanted to look on my own. That should have been answer enough. Instead, she watched my every move, followed me, and, every time I even briefly glanced at something or hesitated, she was on me again bothering me with questions and comments that were not relevant. A business that can't respect the clear Communications of their customers is not a business I'm interested in spending my money at so I left quickly and will not be back nor would I recommend it. It's time to change policies and practices like Old Brick has and work as a team rather than have to so desperately seek commissions. Your customers pay the price for that and it doesn't create helpful respectful staff. read more

I've bought several pieces of furniture over the years at Mooradian's on Central Av. The last piece I bought was a TV stand, but I have it in the dining room and use it as a sideboard. It is made by YUTZY and is made the old fashioned way, solid as a brick building! And it is SO BEAUTIFUL. I had a choice of stains and chose white-washed with the oak grain showing. I've read some reviews that talk about poor delivery times; I've experienced some of that. On one piece I bought a while back I changed my mind and had no trouble getting my deposit refunded. I think Mooradian's is a bit pricey, but I love their furniture and they certainly aren't as bad a Stickley's! For me, if the piece of furniture is something I want to look at and feel super proud of, I go to Mooradian's read more

After traveling from Schoharie County out to Mooradian's on a recommendation from a local, we were disappointed that the selection of the sofa sleepers just weren't hitting the mark. The salesperson was glued to us from the moment we walked in, which led to a smothering feeling while we looked through the store. The price point was considerably higher here, also. Not knowing the particular brands they sell, I can say that there was nothing on display here that differed from most other places we'd been to. Still, the salesperson was knowledgeable and well-versed in what they had to offer. read more

Salesperson was patient and knowledgeable about what they had in stock and what I could order. I had thee worst experience ever and i would highly recommend that people do not purchase ANYTHING!!!! from there. My purchase total was in the $1300 range and i did not get what i paid for. The delivery people suck they set up the bed however my husband told them he believed it was set up incorrectly and the set up time took less than 5 minutes when we said something they blew us off. They said they had to go out to the truck and will be right back in which they did not. After about 3 months if that the bed broke the whole frame came apart and i had made several calls and tried contacting the manger however my calls were never returned and had not heard back. All i know is i will NEVER purchase another thing from Mooradians again i choose that store because I THOUGHT the furniture was of great quality but i guess not. read more

do not shop at mooradians. they are con artists. the review by vicki is right on. i went in 7 years ago and ordered a bed. when it came in around 8 weeks later it was Not the item i had ordered. and due to it being a 'special order item' they would not return my 700$ downpayment. they told me i had to spend it at the store. so fine. i didn't need anything at that point so i just left the money there for the future when i did need something. i bought a 'click-clack' couch last year for the guest bedroom. it was around 400 leaving me with a bit over 300 on account. i finally decided to replace my living room furniture and went to mooradians only because they had my money. i would have gone anywhere else if this wasn't the case. the woman who helped me (no longer works there for some reason) assured me that they would apply the money to my order. when i called back to inquire as to how that was going i was told that she didn't work there and that they were sorry but the money was kept as the returned item fee. even tho they didn't deliver the correct item. i had no choice but to suck it up as i had put down 1000 for the new couch/chair. i would have canceled my order if i wouldn't have lost 20% of that too. i will Never go to mooradians again and i will continue to tell anyone i know my story. read more

Purchased a solid wood bookcase from them a while back and was very happy with my purchase and the service received. We had previously looked at them at Raymour and Flannigan and needed to purchase on right away as mine was broken. They said they carry no furniture in store and everything was pre order so we promptly left and headed to Mooradians. They found exactly what I need and had me out the door with my purchase in the car within 20 minutes. Very happy, 5 stars. read more

We had a good experience with Mooradians which is where we purchased a large leather motion sectional couch. The prices were fair and our salesperson Jim was easy to work with. We also purchased an extended service contract which was sold by Mooradian's but not serviced by them. We attempted to make a claim for a covered loss and found that the service company did not want to cover the claim. Traci from Mooradians mediated our claim and eventually the service company honored it. The result was that Mooradians happily replaced the damaged piece of the sectional, picked it up and delivered the new piece. I would shop with them again because I am generally happy with the couch, but mostly because they stood behind their customer. read more

If I could have given ZERO STARS I would have!!! There customer service sucks! I spent $6000 on a living room set and the fabric on the couch that I was promised was "heirloom quality" with the "definite potential to be passed down to many generations" pilled not three months after it was delivered. I contacted mooridians and explained my issue and they told me it was "normal wear and tear". Not to mention the furniture came months late from the delivery time with obvious defects like the large rip in the back of my leather recliner. I chose a sofa with a small tear which was fine with me as it did not show and I was shown the tear but... when the unit was delivered I discovered it was a used piece of furniture with pet hair, people hair, popcorn and peanut pieces in the couch. Also it dropped out piles of dust and hair on my floor. I told them to take back the couch and called the store. I spoke with the owner and he said I knew the piece was damaged, but would not live up to the fact that he was selling used furniture for new. He would only give me my money back but not the delivery charge. I would never go back to this store as they were not truthful and I don't know how you can get away with selling used furniture as new in a new furniture store. read more

Only place I'll shop for my furniture! I've been trying to buy my newest home furniture for the better part of two years, and was about ten minutes away from settling on anything until I walked into Mooradian's. Not gonna lie it was a little daunting walking in and realizing they essentially have you customize almost anything you want but it allowed me to get my furniture to the exact image I had envisioned. The employees are so nice and helpful! I brought in my kids with me and they gave them all balloons before we left. They have so many options available and the majority of it is made in the US so its all GREAT quality. read more

I continue with my negative experience at Mooridians. After dealing with the manager the owner called me the next and convinced me to go ahead with my order. This was October 29. I was told I would receive my couch before Xmas. On December 23rd I was told the couch would not be there until the 30th. My husband called on the 30th and was told the couch would be delivered on Monday the 2nd. OK I'll go with it. On January 1 they called my husband and told him that the couch would be delivered on the 19th of January. I called the store they said they have no idea where the couch was between albany and the factory and had no idea where and when it would be delivered. Angry and frustrated I am demanding my money back. They hung up on me and told me that they didn't have to deal with disgruntled and rude people as myself. We had purchased a $2500 sectional and within a few weeks the cushions were degrading, we called and they replaced them with a more solid cushion. Which degraded within 2 months time so we are sitting on the frame. The couch looks 10 years old and like an unmade bed. It is an embarrassment in our home. They responded thats the intended look of the couch. They call it the "sloppy look" Every single manager we talked to said the same. The sloppy look. We haven't had the couch a year yet and now we are forced to buy a new couch. They have finally offered a deep discount on a new sofa, I hope it all works out in the end. read more

I used to shop at Mooradians for years. The operative words being "used to". My last experience there was enough for me to sever my ties with them. Here's what happened. I puchased a very nice leather living room chair. Eventually I gave in to the very pushy saleswoman and purchased the matching ottoman as well. Together they price came to $1500. When the furniture was delivered, it was not the same chair I had picked out. It looked similar, but it was different. I called the store and was given then run around and was told that I had received the "upgraded" chair at no cost to me. I was skeptical of that answer, but that was what they told me. Now the Ottoman I didn't want in the first place, didn't match the chair now. So I was given the following options; 1) keep it 2) return it and pay a hefty restocking fee or 3) return it myself to the store and they would order me one that matched. I chose #3. 10 days later, I went back to the store (my 3rd trip at this point) to pick up the correct ottoman. Unbelievably, when I got it home it still didn't match. It has a reddish tint that the chair does not have. I decided to just keep it rather than going through that entire process again. I will not be going back to any Mooradians again. Which is unfortunate because like I mentioned earlier, I have shopped there for years and never had to deal with anything like this. Bill Mooradian did me a huge solid when he allowed me to exchange an item whose measurements I totally goofed. The salesman Doug couldn't have been more clear and exact when I made the purchase (he had me look over my order twice and sign off on it) but, alas, my wife and I gave bad information which resulted in us getting an item that didn't fit the space we had designated for it. I called Mooradians, talked to Bill who understood my predicament and let me exchange it. That was classy because he was certainly within his rights to refuse my request. I will certainly continue doing business with Mooradians and will pass the word to my friends that it's a great store. There are many furniture stores in the area but the wide selection, variety of inventory, and top-notch customer service is why Mooradians stands out. Bravo. read more

Spent over $6k on an Amish bedroom set at the Clifton Park store. Saleswoman and manager were very nice during purchase. Unfortunately upon delivery the bed side boards did not line up correctly and dresser had a small gouge in it. When you spend that kind of money you expect it to be perfect. A month later we had not received a call back regarding the situation. Tracy in the customer service department was very rude and condescending on the phone to us and could care less. Very unlikely we will ever purchase another item from them after this experience. read more

As new homeowners the prospect of buying new furniture was very exciting. The first piece, of what will be many, was a $3000 leather sectional sofa. The sales woman at Mooradians in Clifton Park, NY seemed very knowledgeable however, it is evident now that she was solely after the sale and the commission. She lacked any ounce of honest follow through with the transaction. A week after we placed the order we received a call to clarify the color or our pillows, in the voicemail the sales representative asked for "Rachel" who I am not nor is my boyfriend. We didn't not order any pillows and upon further inspection I realized that they never charged the deposit and therefore the order had not been placed yet. We called, thought we had cleared everything up and the customer service representative assured us the couch would still be in by the end of December. I checked my credit card statement and saw that I had been charged twice for two different amounts. They charged the 30% security deposit for our couch and for a 30% deposit for "Rachel's" order. We were refunded the incorrect charge, however the helpful sales woman was no longer helpful. Our couch was delivered Friday, a month late. Today when I looked at my credit card statement, guess what, I was charged twice! I immediately called and asked for our sales lady, who surprise surprise no longer works there. The manager that I spoke with explained it was my bank that was charging me twice. I called my bank and they assured me that my card was run twice by Moordians. My first experience at Mooradians will definitely be my last. As inconvenient and irritating as this whole process was the one who will loose is the company. My boyfriend and I are the first of our friends to buy a house, and based on my recommendation none of them will ever shop there. I highly recommend never shopping at Mooradians for your sure to leave the experience with a headache and an empty bank account. read more

I will never shop at Mooradians again. They really treated me terribly. I stopped in one afternoon and Ami talked me into purchasing an entertainment center THAT DAY because she could give me a 20% off coupon. She began filling out the order, she put down special order but told me not to worry it wasn't really spec order she just was not sure of the Sku numbers. I didn't think twice about it. More than 8 weeks later my furniture arrived. Problem: it was too heavy for the men to get up the stairs. They called more guys, still not possible to deliver. So I expected to get my $500.00 deposit returned. No, because it was a special order, I would be charged 20% even though they could not deliver it. I had to eat the $500.00 or buy something else. Beware of AMI and the special order trick. I am so angry, I may go to small claims court. I will never shop there again because they totally tricked me. Don't sign anything that says spec order. I could understand if it was an upholstered item, but this is an item they had on the floor. read more

Was excited to upgrade my second hand find for a new sectional sofa. We did a little research and settled on a King Hickory sofa, paid for upgraded springs in the cushions thinking the money we'd be spending would be an investment into a quality piece we'd have for years. First the fabric on the cushions started to twist after a couple months, then my husband put his elbow through the cardboard arm while just adjusting his position. While that piece was being repaired a spring popped in the other piece, so they took that back too for repairs. They patched the arm which you can feel and you can see where they took the fabric apart. When returning the other damaged half it got halfway through the door and we saw a piece of metal poking through the back fabric. Back on the truck! I was offered a refund by the service girl and then moments later received a call from the manager who told me she was wrong and they don't intend to refund me. I owned the sofa for 1 year and 10 days and it spent the last 3 weeks of that year getting patched up in their warehouse because it's falling apart and they continue to damage it. They refuse to refund me and had no interest or care in the fact that they sold me a product not worth the money they charged me. It was reconfirmed when I spoke to Dave Mooradian the owner. "Hi, I'm not giving you your money back" was his opening line when he returned my call. He didn't even look into what my sofa was in for before calling. No apology for our inconvenience, nothing but complete disregard. On the 3rd delivery after the 3rd repair, after 2 plus weeks of it being in their warehouse it arrived with staples in the back panel of fabric and a tear on the top corner. It's been in their warehouse now for 5 additional days and no one even bothered to call to update us or apologize. Poor product, waste of money and time, horrendous service and pathetic quality standards. It's a shame I chose to do business with them. I NEVER will again. Days shy of of contacting small claims court. I wish I had my second hand sofa back... it was 100 times better than the patched up piece of crap I own now that's not even in my possession to sit on.
