Back in 2022, I purchased a used Toyota RAV4 from his shop for 9,000. The vehicle was making weird engine noise after the first few months of purchase. I didn't think anything of it until I had to sell the car two weeks ago because of the knocking sound due to an internal engine failure. When I notified him of this prior to the in person diagnosis, he continually instructed myself to get an oil change, when I knew it had nothing to do with the oil. He made me believe that I was ill informed and uneducated about my car dilemma. I am disgusted by this purchase, I did not have the car for at least two years before it presented this major issue. He haggled me and told me after, It would range around 2000- 3500 for labor costs, and then proceeded to say if I decided to go through with the job that he will be on vacation. The worst part is I was referred to this guy by my uncle, who is known to be crass about money. My autistic son and I are severely limited with transportation options due to this shady purchase from this company. Be careful entrusting this company with all your mechanic needs. I will never do business with them again.

MECHANIC WARNING!! I called Jay with "Certified Mobile Automotive Repairs" to work on my vehicle…read more He was very responsive starting out. We agreed to meet 10/10:30am. I let him know that I was running a little late, but that I'd be ready 11:15 or sooner. That's when he said he would be a little late too, but didn't give me a time or confirm that he received the address. So I texted again to ask if he needed more time. He didn't respond until 12:15 to say he had an emergency and that he'd be able to come to me at 2:30. It's likely, the "emergency" was another repair job, even though I was booked at 10. He finally showed at 2:05, and truthfully he was nice and jumped right to work. Did some troubleshooting and figured it was an easy fix that only took 30mins. We had a great convo, and I offered more work for him. He immediately texted me after he left with parts and price for the next job. But the next day, I started experiencing the same issue again, so I texted him to let him know. No response. I text again 3 days later to check in and gave him the days I was available, he says he'd let me know when he was free... without an apology or trying to set a date or plan to get it fixed. I texted him multiple times after that to book a date since it was getting closer to the weekend, but I didn't get a response until I asked if he had a referral to someone else. He said he had truck issues (which is weird for a mechanic), and asks if I could come to him. Really, I think he just didn't want to drive to me, even though he's a mobile mechanic... but I agree and ask for an address. Again, no response. It wasn't until I told him that I was leaving a review, was when he started being responsive quickly like he did in the beginning. He said he was sick and vomiting, which is why he didn't see my text asking for the address. Then he said he could come to me first thing in the morning, so apparently he had time to "fix his truck" yesterday during the time he was "sick". Now I need a new mechanic because the work that he did, didn't fix the issue. I will never use him again, and I spent all that money for nothing. So be careful! And if anyone has a referral to someone else, please let me know!! I have 4 vehicles between my fiancé and I, so I need someone I can rely on regularly.
