I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax during the first week of March, intending to get one for a beach vacation during Spring Break, as I always do. Obviously, that didn't happen and I canceled because everything closed down the next week. A month ago, I decided to finally reschedule my Brazilian with Lauren. To start, I agree that there's just not enough privacy. Coming and going requires opening a sliding door that reveals an exposed client to anyone getting services right outside the door. It was uncomfortable to have the waxer come in while I was uncovered and waiting with no cloth or sheet, while people sat just outside the door a few feet away. Next, I got a lot of not-super-friendly comments about the thickness of my hair during the wax (because I hadn't gone to get a wax in months...because a pandemic happened). I've gone several months between waxes before (I usually only go 3-6x a year) and never experienced pain and severe discomfort like I did this time. I was worried that she was pulling the wrong way, pouring and pulling too much wax at once, and that I'd get ingrowns from the lack of care. Long story short, I did. A ton. And I exfoliated and moisturized and did everything i ALWAYS do post-wax, but this is the worst grow-back I've ever experienced in my 5 years of waxing. I was also really disappointed in the work because it was sloppy -- I still had hairs left all over when she finished and I was in pain. even worse, I was made super uncomfortable during checkout when she discussed my personal wax business and made derogatory comments about having "rough" hair to anyone in earshot in the salon. I tipped fully on the original price of the service, but I was left feeling dissatisfied, in pain from the wax and frustrated. I don't recommend this salon or Lauren for a wax service.

I came in for my appt and was greeted by who I believe is the owner and was told someone would come out to get me in a few minutes. It's a casual, friendly environment. A couple of mins later someone came out to get me and introduced herself as Ingrid. She was friendly and brought me to a room in the back of the salon where the waxing area is. Like someone else mentioned in one of the reviews it has a sliding door and there is an area outside where someone was getting eyelash services done, however, the area is in the back and is as private as it can be given the size of the salon. I thought it was fine. Now about Ingrid; I thought she was great! She was always concerned with my comfort and explained everything she was doing. She applied pressure to the areas she waxed which helped tremendously. She even tweezed anything left behind. I really liked her personality and she did a great job at making it a comfortable process. I did not feel that the fact that I went in using a groupon made them treat me any differently. I already made my appt for next month with Ingrid at Elle & Co. I am glad I found them!

On May 10th, I had a 2:30 appt with Lauren ( @beauty_with_elle_co ). At 2:40, I texted her asking if she was on her way. She walked in within 5 mins of my sending that text. I was on her table and ready to lash by let's say 2:50 on the fair side. By 3:16 I paid for my FULL SET of classic lashes, which should take at least 1.5-2 hrs. This was my very first time having eyelash extensions and I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought that was incredibly fast. She also, was rough and brushing harshly through my lashes. When I sat up.. I literally could not tell the difference. I told her that I would still have to wear mascara and she said, "oh fine for this time go ahead and we'll schedule you another appointment when you get home." Mind you, I was leaving for Aruba the very next morning. Then she attempted to sell me lash cleaner on top of it. By 4:15 I was at the salon down the street getting them redone. While there, she had to carefully peel lashes and glue that was stuck to my eyelid off! It took her almost 3 hours to fix what Lauren did and said that I may still have some tugging and pulling of my lashes as they grow out because she was so messy. Today when I got a fill, I had massive build up and yellow crustys from the residual glue that Lauren had left. That night (May 10th) after all of this, I texted Lauren asking her to kindly refund my purchase since she and I both know that she did not do a clean or adequate job, and I have gotten no response. I have no other options but to inform people of my personal experience so they can avoid this awful, PAINFUL, and EXPENSIVE experience. I've included pictures of times stamps and texts messages as well.

The owner was condescending and kept telling me that she should not be expected to watch my children. This made me very uncomfortable and very unwelcome. I only stayed because I love the service I get from one of the providers. This went on for a while, giving me the impression that she thinks all children misbehave. My poor child felt like she was a bad person. My child happens to be extremely well behaved and has no problem sitting in a waiting room with a book or a device. I went back this year for hair services because I wanted to try a specific stylist I heard great things about. I love my new hair stylist! She is wonderful and takes her time to do her best work. I found it very strange a couple of times when I was her last client that the owner had to stay for hours until we were finished, so she could personally cash me out. I felt like she did not trust her employees to cash out or close her business. This was confirmed this week when I made an appointment for a color and cut for both my daughter and myself. We received our hair cut but had to reschedule for the color because my stylist did not want the owner to have to hang around while we got our color. When we came back for the second appointment, my daughter went first for color. I was then told there was no time to do my color because the owner had to leave to meet someone. I was confused as to why not just give the stylist the key to lock up rather than ask a customer to come back for yet a third time for what should have been one appointment?? I also live an hour away. I called to cancel my third appointment today and said I would not be returning because I do not like the way the business is run. The girl said okay and goodbye. I find it very upsetting that a business does not trust their employees and does not care that they have inconvenienced customers. Shouldn't an apology, discount, or something have been offered for this terrible way to treat a customer? I now have to leave a wonderful stylist because of the way this business is run. I also have 3 days to find someone to do my color for an event I am attending. I have been to many salons following my past stylist and at each one she has had her own key and scheduled and cashed out her own customers on her personal phone. This is poor business practice to say the least.
