Amazing food and great service! Highly recommend and suggest trying out their pizzas every one I've tried has been amazing. They also have a great beer selection! read more

Believe the 5 stars! Sandy Utah is no longer a culenary wasteland! Oh yeah, and a bit of night life is now a "thing" here in Sandy. Nearly full house on a Sunday night. The service!! Where did they find these humans? They actually seem to love their jobs! They are passionate about the food and drinks they are serving. We had the Cobweb salad and meatball sandwich. Tasty house meat balls and one of the best marinaras I have ever tasted. Dressing was house made and salad was super fresh. My only complaint is too much lettuce, but, very fresh. Long beer list. The pizzas looked amazing. We plan on coming back this week just to try them. Fair prices all around. Although not a true bar, it has a nice pub feel with live music on a Sunday night! (I thought that was illegal ) they are pushing the suburban envelope . Love this place!. . read more

Dawg what is happening here? Extremely packed but not good. Flimsy triangles with crackery crust, no flavor. Real scrooges with the toppings too. I don't drink but seems it's more of a bar hangout spot not for real eaters. People can change, we shall see if they can right their wrongs...wishing you all the best read more

It's always busy and had a long wait but the pizza and beer selection makes it worth it if you have the time to wait!

Absolutely Solid food and pizza, nates wings rule all the wings! Creative monthly specials, and one of Utah's greatest beer selections. Amazing service no matter who your server is. Slackwater is the tops, not to be missed, and you'll be going back . multiple times a month to try all the specials! read more

We recommend Slackwater to everyone!! It's our favorite place in the SLC area. Great atmosphere and great food. It can be a little loud if they have a live band, but that is fun too! read more

Great food! Great service! I wish there were five more Slackwaters in Sandy. The one location is always packed. Their pizza is delicious! The parking is ample. Slackwater I'd my favorite restaurant in Sandy! read more

One of my favorite things in the world is a solid pizza and craft beer place. I'm so glad we found one in Utah. I wish it was in Salt Lake but Sandy's only like 20 minutes away and definitely worth the drive. One of the reasons I really wanted to come here when we did was because they have the Shades Egg Nog Ale and I've been dying to try it (I think the Shades taproom sold out of it at least a week ago). I've never even actually had real egg nog, just the shitty stuff from cartons but I heard so many rave reviews about the beer that I had to try it. And it is so so good. If you don't like your beer to be sweet then it might not be for you but I thought it was delicious. Slackwater has a truly impressive selection of beer and they stock a bunch of limited edition beers from local breweries so it's a good place to go try a bunch of those in one place. The second beer I had was an horchata imperial porter that was also tasty :) Now for the pizza. We ordered the bacon and brussel sprout pizza which is a limited menu item for either the month or the week. It also has candied pecans and craisins on it so if you're not about the sweet and savory vibes on your pizza then stay away from this one. But I really liked it! We also ordered the gyro trip which our waitress said was her favorite. We like ordering unique things you can't just find anywhere so that's why we went with this one. It is so good, like truly has all the flavors of a gyro on a pizza. My only gripe about the pizzas is they're like 40% crust. I usually am able to finish a personal sized pizza by myself so that's why we each ordered one but I think because of the crust we almost had a whole pizza left. Luckily the crust is pretty good and simple but yeah only bad thing to say about them. The service was good once it got started but it did take a little while before someone came to our table. The restaurant is pretty large with only TVs in the bar area so if you're going to watch a game, you have to sit by the bar. read more

Slackwater - Bacon and brussel sprout pizza in front, gyro trip in back - Pizza Near Me - Sandy, Utah

Good food, waitstaff is very nice and prompt. The decorations are very cool, very minimalistic.

Slackwater pizza opened it new location in Sandy in the building that started as a Back Angus steakhouse and has gone through several variations of steak restaurants before Slackwater arrived. When you walk in the place is pretty large open environment somewhat dimly lit during the evening but with many windows around the perimeter for natural light. Along or side of the restaurant are two glass panel garage doors that I will assume to open up to outdoor seating during warmer weather. The specialty here seems to be pizzas and beer, as the pizzas take up one side of the menu and the beer takes an entire book. In addition to pizza they have a variety of appetizer, sandwiches and salads. Many of the options are unique and everything is made in house. I ordered the Joe Pesci which is an Italian style sandwich topped with banana peppers lettuce and ceaser dressing. The food does seem to be paired towards beer as it's slightly salty but very well done. It's a little noisy and the TV are more by the bar if you want to watch sports. read more

Such good food. Had the pizza and loved it. Great service and loved the atmosphere. High energy and upbeat.

My husband and I came in for the first time this past week. The wait wasn't bad at all for how busy they were. The food menu isn't that big but the cheese sticks and the buffalo chicken pizza were delicious! The beer menu on the other hand was massive! They had so many options it was a bit overwhelming to me because I'm not the biggest beer person. However our server was amazing and was able to give us recommendations! It was a ton of help narrowing down all of the options that we had! We had a great experience and we can't wait to go back! read more

First off do yourself a favor and call ahead or book a table through yelp! We have tried to eat here three times prior and the shortest wait time without calling ahead was over an hour... longest time was over two hours. Finally we booked ahead and got right in within 15 mins of arriving. Well was all the back and forth worth it? You bet it was! Wonderful freshly made to order pizzas with a ton of options to chose from. The appetizer we had was great. My wife and I shared app and main dish and still had leftover to take home. Portions are nicely sized for two if you ask me. Atmosphere was nice was a little loud but not horrible. Service was good not perfect but good, My drink cup never went empty! I don't drink beer however if you want a beer they have the most extensive selection of beers I have probably ever seen anywhere in the west! Wow something for everyone. They are not a full bar but if beer is your thing then GO! Now if they can get onboard with pepsi and coke products this place would be perfect. I will definitely recommend trying this place we will certainly be going back! I hear they have live music and can be a ton of fun. read more

So happy they opened a location here by Southtowne Mall. Their original location up north was our go to spot for the best pub and grub. We ordered our usual (Chili Verde nachos, Diablo sticks, California pizza). Mmm... So darn good! The place is nice. Much more upscale. Service was also great. Shanda was very efficient and really super nice. Can't wait to come back here with family friends and co workers! read more

Slackwater- a hometown pizza, salad, and Diablo sticks hero. I remember the early years of this eating establishment in my hometown of Ogden, Utah. From a young age I became infatuated with the delectable contrast of flavors that could be found on the "taste of the islands pizza." Since then, unfortunately, my favorite pizza is nowhere to be found on the menu. Luckily for me (and everyone else), this low-key Utah powerhouse of a restaurant never seizes to deliver. I have ordered countless menu items from the Ogden and Draper locations and have yet to be anywhere near disappointed. Without question, slackwater is among the top 5 eateries west of the Mississippi- a true staple for local pizza lovers (or any type of food, really). I would recommend everything I have ever ordered. Thank you Slackwater owners and staff for the consistently quality dining experience. read more

Yum! This is a new location in Sandy (the first is in Ogden). I had never before been to the location in Ogden, but have a group of friends who live in that area who would frequent and always talk about how wonderful everything is there. I was SO happy to hear about the location opening in Sandy (near Southtown Mall) so I could finally try it and see what all the hype was about. I had the opportunity to try attend the soft opening, and can say that everything I had lived up to the hype and my high expectations! Food I tried: Southern Comfort Pizza - omg the whiskey bbq sauce was so tasty, and the pizza crust was amazing-- it was on the thinner side (not too thin). The pizza was topped with maple citrus Cole slaw which added so much flavor and depth to the pizza. Highly recommend! Char-Tipped Roasted Pork Chili Verse Nachos - HUGE! Be aware that this is probably enough for 4-8 people to share... and it's really delicious! The chili verde was a delicious mild flavor and the chips were thin and crisp. Recommend if you're with a big group (or can eat a lot of chips...) Nate's Buffalo wings - these were wonderful! They were perfectly sauced (not drenched) and according to the menu they're never frozen and marinated overnight. The wings were smaller (but a large quantity) which I really liked. I will definitely get these again! The beer menu was legit as well! There's probably only one other restaurant I can think of in the city with a larger menu. Normally I would have had a few, but had a long Saturday ahead of me... next time! Highly recommend Slackwater for some great apps, pizza(s), and a great selection of beer! read more

I love pizza and Slackwater does not disappoint. I love the variety of choices they have and the crust is perfection! Today I tried the California Sunrise and it was so amazing. I loved the dressing with the sliced avocado and the perfectly crispy crust! The pizza is so great, but I was surprised at how delicious the appetizers were. The specialty orange cranberry wings were so delicious and the nachos were out of this world! read more

Slackwater is one of our very favorite places to go! The spin-art dip is one of the best around, I'm obsessed. For the main course, I always get the pua'a luau which is delicious, and my husband is pretty loyal to the cardiac arrest as well as trying something new from their great beer selection. We've taken several members of our family and friends here and everyone loves it! read more

Love that the Sandy location has an outdoor patio. I enjoyed a nice draft beer but have also enjoyed pizza, calzone and salads. Yummy!

The California sunrise and Italian job were our favorite. The crust is light and sweet. Delicious! I was shocked to see a line at 5:30pm but now I know why. read more

First time customer here at Slackwater. I got the Meatball Sandwich with a side of baked chips, and Buffalo Wings. I got the Buffalo Wings first but sent them back after eating my first wing. The wings were too spicy for me and dipping it in blue cheese made the taste funky. Afterward I got my sandwich and didn't finish it. It wasn't bad but wasn't what I expected. It was just a simple "made at home" meatball sandwich. The staff was very kind though with taking my food back and make sure I was satisfied with everything. Sadly I wasn't satisfied with the food. Slackwater can be a cool cabin aesthetic place to hang out with some friends and get a beer with, that's how I see this place. Probably won't be coming back any time soon. read more

We've seen how busy SlackWater has been and wanted to give it a try. WE WILL BE BACK! Most options we went with came from their monthly menu, and we couldn't stop talking about how much flavor was in the food. Most places we find something to talk about with regards to seasoning, or I have to put salt on to make up for a lack of seasoning. That was not the case here. Each dish was balanced! Service was good, I'd say could be great. But it was good service, the only thing was it took a while to get waters started and refilled. But, it's busy and this is why we waited to come try. We will try the salads next time and perhaps a new pizza... but my husband is already talking about wanting to go back for this months soup! read more

I had heard amazing things about Slackwater, and was excited to give it a try. Upon a recommendation, we ordered the nachos as an appetizer. From the description... I was expecting something AMAZING. Perhaps my expectations were a bit high? It was just okay. They have a wide variety of pizzas (Bonus tip! You can turn anything into a calzone!), and I ordered my staple - a classic Margherita with balsamic glaze. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza after the disappointing appetizer. The biggest thing that set this pizza apart from the other pizza places I tried was the sweet dough they use for the crust. It's very unique, noticeable, and gives a whole new taste to the pizzas. Will I be back? Perhaps. Will I ever stop thinking about that sweet crust? Never. read more

I was looking for a pizza place with gluten free options for my child. Slackwater has an extensive amount of gluten free options. My kids devoured their Caesar salad. My Buffalo wings were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Our pizza (meat lovers like) was delicious! They have a very impressive beer/cider menu. The server was very kind and recommended some great options for us. I do not live in this area, but I would recommend Slackwater for anyone that does or is traveling thru. read more
