It's a great cardio workout. We climb up trail stairs and down. We go up some hills and down. It really depends on the direction you decide to take. Fall is my favorite time of year to come here when the weather is a bit cooler and there is not as much people around. The trails in this this park is very clearly marked and you can see trails that were created by the parks department plus some that were created by people who wanted to adventure off the regular trails. There are some very very small caves if you look around hard enough. I see them take a quick peek and I am on my way. I am not that adventurous, lol. This is definitely a fantastic place to visit if you are in the area. Just a couple of things to remember. Bug spray is your friend. Spray yourself, ticks are not fun and also be careful when running your hands on the wooden handrails because there may be splinters. I now take tweezers with me just in case splinters or ticks but this park is still a fantastic place to visit.

It's easy to moderate (there are stairs) and well shaded by trees. There's also a historic ruin of what was once a wool mill. There was ample parking, and it was not crowded during a summer week day. I highly recommend. Having visited most of the falls in the area this is in my top few favorites.

During summers, these areas can get really busy so I suggest coming early to claim a table/shelter. The 5 mile trail around the lake is mostly flat, a great walk for any age. My family and I also enjoy picking blueberries from the bushes that line the lake. September is when the fall foliage begins to come out but I would wait a bit longer before seeing the beautiful changing leaves!

When we arrived here it was to watch the morning sunrise. As the weather was cloudy, we ended up just seeing grey clouds from the viewpoint in a misty morning and returned. Great visit to Bushkill Falls in early October…read more Arrived late morning (around 11:30am) on a Saturday and it wasn't as crowded as I expected. You can enter the parking lot and walk around that immediate area for free, but will have to pay ($24 adult/$12 child) to enter the main trail(s) where the waterfalls are. There was a short line (5 minute wait) at that time. I do understand this is a bit pricey since many other waterfalls are free, or cheaper with state parks charging fees per vehicle, not per person. The cost at Bushkill can really add up, particularly with larger families. Once you purchase your tickets you go through an indoor area with some wildlife exhibits and then have your tickets checked before proceeding to the trails. They will ask what is in your bag if you have one...for reference, cameras, lenses and tripods were all okay, but no drones allowed. There are a few trails to choose from...the shortest is the Green Trail and only goes a little past the main overlook area to the main falls and takes about 15 minutes. The next is the Yellow trail which takes you past a few overlooks and viewing spots of the main falls and takes about 45 minutes. This is a great trail that would check most of the boxes for most visitors...and while the paths are mostly wooden-planked paths, there are a number of steps throughout the trail. The longer two trails are the Blue (75-minute) and Red (150-minute) that take you through the other smaller falls (Bridal Veil, Bridesmaid's, Pennell). We opted for the Yellow trails and took a little over an hour, stopping frequently along the way for pictures. At that time the trails weren't very crowded, but on the way out at around 1pm, we noticed the line to get in way much longer. Upon exiting the trail, there are a few shops including the Snack Shack, Gift Shop, Museum/Story to Bushkill Falls building, Mining Activity and Sweet Shop. Plan accordingly and you can easily spend most of the day there. Bonus for visiting during the peak fall colors...likely much more crowded though.

We have been to this place few years back but now it became toooo crowded and sometimes it takes a lot of time to go through the crowd . Well maintained pathways . There are 3-4 different loops and based on the time you have you can choose one path .. yellow loops are average difficulty .. it does have some path which is a little steep steps, but not difficult for middle age people.. might be a little stressful for elderly people with knee pain issues.. there is also a red loop which is a lot more of Walk and takes more time.. there are maps showing each path and approximate distance.. parking is a bit crazy, especially near the entrance.. parking is free.. tickets are about $21 which isn't too bad .
