Ham, Cheese, Mushroom & Jalapeño Omelette

Years ago, my dad used to take my mom here. Not sure what they were doing out in this neck of the wood but they used to eat breakfast here. Now that my dad has passed, when I bring my mom to visit my dad's final resting spot, we drop by here to grab breakfast. Sort of like a remembrance for my dad. It's in the Skyline Hotel & Casino. Parking is around back as this place is right on Boulder Highway. Parking is free. And there have always been spaces available when I've brought my mom here. It's not a big resort property so you really can't miss it or get lost. When you're there, there's both counter seating and the dining room. Booths and tables. Old school decor with a train making rounds on the tracks up below the ceiling. See attached video. Service is what you'd expect of a diner. Hit or miss. Attentive. Friendly. Nice. Or a mixture. Or nothing at all. Been here more than a handful of times over the years and this must be a new page or I may have checked in to the casino ... whatever the case, it's never been bad, just slow or inattentive at times. Most times though, it's fine. It's not a big restaurant so it's easy getting someone's attention. As for the food - inexpensive and good. Check their specials as that's where you get the most bang for your buck. There's not been a dish I didn't like and I can be pretty picky with breakfast. Just know it's not gourmet - just good diner food - decent portions. See pics. If not for where my dad's final resting place being out this way, I probably wouldn't have known about this place. And as long as it's around, I'll probably be stopping in as my mom will be laid to rest with my dad and I'll just keep the tradition going.

I arrived around lunch time there was only a couple other patrons and I was welcomed in by the staff. The server was very attentive if not a bit over attentive consistently checking if I needed anything or wanted more coffee which meant I had as much coffee as I wanted and I had a lot since it is pretty tasty. As for the food itself I ordered a stack of the banana walnut pancakes with strawberries & whipped cream and in a combo with eggs, sausage and garlic potatoes. The food was good I enjoyed the garlic potatoes a lot and the pancakes were also decent however not much of a banana flavor was to be found unfortunately. I did walk away satisfied with my meal and not finishing all of it due to the large portion of the pancakes the only real sticking point was the cost prior to tip being close to $28 which is a bit much for breakfast although I ordered one of the pricier items but making coffee or any other drink $4 is pricey compared to similar breakfast/brunch establishments. As compared to the emerald island grille which I view as the closest competitor pacific diner is better in quality their coffee alone is way better than anything at Emerald however the cost is much higher especially for most breakfast items where the cost is double that of the same item at Emerald. Overall I would recommend trying this place out and I will return to try some of the other menu items I am interested in.

The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. One of my friends and I split the California omelette and ordered a side of sourdough toast, while our other friend had the potato cake Benedict. The food was good, the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming, and the prices were very reasonable. They also have a very extensive menu with plenty of options, so there's something for just about any brunch craving.

You're not getting four star service here this isn't the strip, but you're getting someone who's going to make sure your coffee is filled your food. Comes out warm and there's there if you need them. Got the biscuits and gravy and hands-down, some of the best biscuits and gravy in Las Vegas. Give this a firm 5/5 And of course I had the creeps, but I like to call blintzes. Got it with the strawberry. Honestly, some of the best blitzes in town. The cheese mixture on the inside is heaven. Taste like a cheesecake wrapped in a soft fluffy blanket again 5/5. Then I got the pork chops and decided to get them breaded basically fried with eggs. Gave this only a 4/5 because it felt like the breading was overtaking the pork chop. All in all, pretty damn great for the price.

It's definitely good for families I had the biscuit and gravy which were served with eggs, spuds and bacon or sausage. I didn't know that the eggs were cooked and butter so they were a little rich for me but the biscuits and gravy were amazing. I believe that the biscuits were made on site and the gravy is homemade. The amount of bacon that was served was a very generous amount. My husband ordered pancakes and they were huge as they took up the whole plate. Tons of flavor and extremely fluffy!

The omelets are hearty and well cooked, and it is the kind of place where you will not leave hungry. Everything felt familiar and comforting, which is a big part of the appeal. Service was friendly and efficient, especially considering how busy it gets. The staff clearly knows how to keep things moving while still being attentive. The only reason this is not a full five stars is that while the food is very good, it is more classic than standout. That said, if you are looking for a dependable, no-nonsense breakfast with great portions and fair prices, Omelet House is an easy recommendation and a place I would gladly return to.

We met friends for brunch midweek - the place was packed at 11 AM. OSC will win no awards for decorating. About 20 tables inside, another half dozen seats at the bar, and a few more outside. Jade, our server, was at our table with a smile and a warm welcome almost as soon as we sat down. Service remained excellent despite the crowd. Both my wife and I opted for the make your own omelet with a side of potatoes and an everything bagel ($16). The omelet is HUGE and loaded with the goodies we requested packed inside (except for the avocado which was sliced on top). Absolutely delish!!! And way more than we could finish at one sitting - breakfast for tomorrow! There is a reason the OSC has had staying power despite the number of newer competing restaurants in the area. We will be back again soon.
