This is a staple of Cincinnati fast food establishments. The reason I'm a skyline convert is not only from its deliciousness, but also nostalgia from a good friend/ food critic who introduced it to me many moons ago. The chili is unique in that it's Greek in origin and instead of spicy peppers it has a unique flavor of warming spices including cinnamon in the background. Though everyone may not be a fan, it is certainly unique and why I am giving 4 stars instead of 3. This establishment was clean, the staff friendly and they were quick to bring out the food. I got the 4 way chili Mac and was not disappointed. Piled to the ceiling with cheese! Mix it all up and enjoy the warm gooey neon orange comfort cuisine that is Skyline. Next time, I will need to try the chilito... a burrito filled with that chili goodness.if you're in a hurry and in town, definitely give this restaurant a try and challenge your idea of what chili should taste like. I'm visiting in the area from Florida. I was taken to Skyline Chili because it's a Cincinnati "institution". When I entered the restaurant my expectations were not very high. Our server exceeded my expectations with her knowledge and personality. Then my 3-way came. Wow! I was impressed by the huge mound of freshly shredded cheese. The chili, which was more of a sauce, was very tasty and paired well with the spaghetti and cheese. The price was half what I had expected. In all, this was a visit well worth my time! read more

when we went tonight, the girl taking orders was extremely rude. not to mention, they repeatedly mentioned "do I look sober?" ...no clue what they're on, but it reflected in the food. after having to repeatedly correcting our order because she was distracted by whatever her coworkers were doing, it STILL wasn't what we ordered so we gave up. upon arriving home and tasting the food, I don't know how the hell hotdogs can be HARD! the 3 way my husband ordered, not to mention it was a regular and not the large we ordered, barely had noodles, it was a bowl of chili. we will not be returning and I will warn anyone I know trying to go to this location. read more

I lived in the Midwest for seven years before finally trying a skyline chili. The anticipation was great. I'm not a huge spaghetti person, but I wanted the hotdogs. My favorite part was the mound of cheese served on top. IT. IS. ALWAYS. SKYLINE. TIME!!!!!!!!!! For real though, I LOVE Skyline, so you will rarely ever find me writing anything less than a 5 star review at any of their restaurants. I especially love Skyline when I'm in the Cincy area (I live in Cbus) so I begged my grandparents and cousin to come here with me on my most recent trip to visit them. I know we have Skylines in Cbus, but there is just something special about getting Skyline when in the 513 area. It's just the thing to do. Gotta pay homage! I especially was excited to check this location out since it had recently reopened after burning down in an accident. I could tell right when we walked in that this is for sure one of the newer Skylines. The seating and interior are more elevated. There are flat screen TVs that were playing the Bengals game. It was nice! I got my fave: 2 coneys and a 4 way. My cousin also ordered a chilito for us to share. As always, our food was out very quickly. I really enjoyed the chilito! It was my first time trying it. I liked that it was something new. I recommend getting one if you haven't tried one. It's essentially a burrito filled with chili, cheese and sour cream. I also scarfed down my four way and coneys. I also ordered the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. I LOVE that they now offer Cheesecake Factory desserts in the restaurants. It was good! But their forks kind of all taste like chili, so I kind of wish I would have asked for a plastic fork. lol! The owner (or at least I'm assuming he's the owner) stopped by our table to compliment my Skyline sweatshirt (because yes I have both a Skyline t-shirt and sweatshirt from Homage). He loved it! We chatted with him for awhile. He was very grateful for our patronage. We told him that we were sad when the location burnt down and he said "we missed you more than you missed us!" It was sweet of him. I really liked him. Also, as he cashed us out, my grandpa started grabbing York Peppermint Patties out of the bowl that said "$.50 each" and I said "Papa! Those cost money!!!" I recently moved back Ohio, and I used to always come to this Skyline location before the old building burned. I came through the drive thru, only car there at the time. Dining room wasn't busy at all. So you'd think they'd take your order, without issue, and send you on your way rather quickly. Nope! I waited a good 60-90 seconds for somebody to take my order, and in that short span of time, the drive thru got slammed. So what happened was this. The employees slacked off, they got slammed, and they screwed up my order as they scrambled to recover. You'll see my check number in the photo I leave, I'd like a full refund. Considering this was my first opportunity to have Skyline in months, I'm rather disappointed. And to be honest, there nothing more infuriating then going all the way home and opening your box of food to see that it's not what you ordered. Slowest skyline I have ever been to. They had stale crackers and no hot sauce at the tables. Overall very poor skyline.

My local Skyline was always a favorite when it seemed like every order was picture worthy but since the fire it has gone downhill. While they are managing the big crowds well since the return, my 5 way was lame with a struggle to find the beans and marginal on the cheese. Ugh. I'm eating chili for breakfast because I'm in Cincinnati, chili is everywhere and my teeth hurt from over flossing. Don't ask cause I have strong, healthy teeth. I do a Yelp search for chili and Skyline is every 2 miles. If you too arrive at this location, expect that the exterior appearance will reflect on the rest of the place. I do the Drive-Thru and get a half pint of the Original Special Recipe. Upon seeing the drive-thru lady, I assume from the condition of her teeth, that she works here for discounted chili (hope that joke works). I'm no expert on chili, made it for the first time a few weeks ago (rave feedback from many friends), but if it's super salty and pretty much soup, it cannot be considered good. She did give me 2 fist-sized bags of oyster crackers so I added nearly a bag so I can eat it instead of drinking it. Skyline is Skyline, there's nothing especially wonderful or bad. I think all of the locations are pretty similar. The chili is a Cincinnati staple, so of course we had to stop in and get some.
