Once her client left, I was welcome to transition to tina's seat, which began my new relationship with my new nail artist. Tina's shop is very well stocked with anything you could think of from color to acrylic powder to accessories you'd like to add into your nail design. The salon is on the smaller side and was definitely busy, but they were able to sit us together for our pedicures, which I really appreciated. One of the biggest things for me was that they did NOT pressure me to get gel! I stopped getting gel because it damaged my nails, and you'd be surprised how many salons make you feel like regular polish is an inconvenience. Not here! They had plenty of regular polish options, and something I really liked was that they actually have books filled with nail color samples that you can sit and flip through to choose your color. I've never seen that at a nail salon before! Granted, I rarely go to salons because I usually do my own nails, but I thought that was such a nice touch and made picking a color so much easier. The woman who did my manicure was so kind and patient. She never made me feel rushed or like she wanted me out of her chair because I wasn't spending extra on gel. I had recently cut my nails much shorter than I normally wear them, and she made them look SO pretty. I absolutely love how they turned out! My husband, on the other hand, was there very reluctantly . I try to convince him to get a manicure and pedicure with me at least once a year, and apparently yesterday was the day! No polish for him, of course. He survived and actually had a good experience. We both chose the #2 pedicure for $40, and our total for two manicures AND two pedicures was only $100, which I thought was fantastic. I'll admit I got a little nervous when the woman doing my pedicure started working on my cuticles because I've been clipped at salons before , but she was careful and didn't hurt me at all. Apparently that was just my past nail-salon trauma kicking in. Overall, this was such a nice new experience for us and a great way to spend the two hours while our daughter was at tennis. Everyone was friendly, we didn't feel rushed, the prices were reasonable, and most importantly, I LOVE my nails. If you're in the Manteca area, I definitely recommend stopping by Busy Bee Nail Salon and checking them out. We'll be back!

Hidden Costs at Sky Nails My daughter recently had a manicure done at Sky Nails, and what should have been a fun treat turned into a frustrating experience. While the advertised price for a basic manicure was $40, they ended up charging us a whopping $70! This is clearly predatory pricing, taking advantage of young customers who might not be familiar with salon services and hidden fees. Not only is it bad business practice, but it preys on children's excitement for a little pampering. Parents, be warned! Unless you want to deal with unexpected charges and potentially disappointed kids, I would strongly recommend avoiding Sky Nails. Ben never disappoints. I drove from Turlock for him to do my nails and trust me it was well worth it. Not only has he been doing my nails for at least 2 years now but I don't trust or like anyone else doing them. Also the salon itself is very nice and quiet. I felt like I could actually relax. I have 5 daughters and work 5 days a week 13-14 hour shifts so needless to say I look forward to "MY TIME". Everyone here is very nice and personable. I Definitely recommend Sky Nails to anyone looking for a place to go. I know I found my new place and will gladly make the drive here from now on. Since it was a busy weekend, I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't think much of it. I returned to the salon to get the overcharge refunded, and the gentleman at the register provided me with a $20 store credit as compensation for the inconvenience of having to drive back to the location. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to return today for another pedicure so I could use the store credit I was given at this exact location about a month ago. However, I was told that they no longer accept those cards and that I would need to go to the Floyd location to use it. I explained the situation to the same gentleman who originally gave me the store credit. He told me that they no longer use those cards and proceeded to charge me $51 for my pedicure. I explained that if I had known beforehand that I wouldn't be able to use the credit at this location, I would have simply gone to the other location to begin with. His response was essentially just a nod, and I ultimately paid to avoid any further conflict, especially since it was clear the outcome wasn't going to change. At this point, it's not about the $20 credit--it's about the principle and the lack of communication and consideration for the customer. After being inconvenienced once because of an overcharge, I returned expecting to be able to use the compensation I was given, only to find out at checkout that I couldn't. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location. I will also be letting my family and friends who recommended this salon know about my experience and will be recommending that they visit one of the other locations instead.
