I was extremely disappointed with my visit. The salon felt very cluttered, and instead of relaxing music, they had sports playing on the TV. I had three different people work on my pedicure, which I've never experienced before it seemed like they were taking turns. The sanitation was questionable, with tools and products left out in the open. The polish looked thick and uneven. After my visit, I noticed I contracted a fungal infection, which has persisted for months. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a nail salon. To the owners: I strongly recommend thoroughly cleaning your salon and improving sanitation practices preferably before the state board pays a visit. read more

I stopped by tuesday afternoon during a lunch break. Thankfully there was no wait time and they helped me right away. I got gel for my hands and toes done, all in under an hour and for only $45! I really appreciate the guy working on my nails. I had chosen a color named "milky white," but it looked different on. He made sure I was okay with the color, which I wasn't, so he let me switch. I panicked and picked another one because I didn't want him waiting on me, and when he tried it, he checked AGAIN to see if I was happy with it. I wasn't, and after feeling picky I just chose my safe colors. He was patient which I appreciate because it made me feel comfortable changing my colors vs sticking to something I wouldn't like. Ripon nails I started the day out looking forward to treating myself, Cindy turned it into a nightmare. I took 3 days to before I calm enough to do this review. 07/18/2023 11:00 am I was a walk-in The salon appeared clean. There was no customers in the shop. There was two female employees sitting in the pedicure seats. A gentleman employee seating to the side. One of the ladies greeted me said her name was Cindy. I asked her for the cost to have a manicure, then full set dip nails and pedicure with gel nails on my toes, She said $85. She told me to pick a color one for the dip and one for the gel. I chose pink for both fingers and toe nails. She went right into doing the dip. I reminded her, I wanted a manicure. She said after she does the dip. The dip was NOT PINK. I told her several times it didn't look pink. Several times she asked me if I liked it so far, I replied ever time, "no, it doesn't look pink". She keep replying it is not finished yet. It was never pink, more of a mauve. When Cindy was done I said it isn't pink she replied "it's a pretty color. When you come back again I will change the color." My cuticles looked horrible (see pictures) I was moved to the pedicure tub. As I inspected my nails I became more upset. I took the pictures while Tai did my pedicure. Tai did a ok pedicure. Shaped and cleaned my toe nails, put lotion on my legs, warm rocks, cleaned my nails before applying gel polish...I had to change my toe color selection from pink to mauve.... I was getting so upset thinking about how horrible my nails looked. Tai couldn't find a color to match the mauve Cindy had put on my nails. I just wanted to leave. Another employee, who had arrived 10 minutes earlier with a little girl, came up to me and Tai, she what to know what was going on. I showed her how horrible my nails were, cuticles sticking out, crap under the nails from the dip. I told her Cindy never did the manicure. She stated they don't do manicures for dips. WHAT? Cindy not only said she would but quoted the cost. I informed her I had pick pink as my color and repeatedly told Cindy it wasn't pink...Cindy repeatedly dismissed me. At this point I was so upset I started to cry, thinking about what a horrible job Cindy had done... I just wanted to leave. She told Tai to fix my nails, put the gel color he had put on my toes over it. At the moment a lady and her three granddaughters came in for pedicures. I was there 3 hours They charged me $85. Wanted to charge me $90. WILL NEVER GO BACK! DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM! I have already warning my daughters, granddaughters, their friends, and neighbors. It was a horrible experience that was suppose to be a treat day before my family trip. read more

First set she jacked up so bad she had to remove them. Second set she cut short and they are thick and chunky. Just moved to Ripon and was looking for a new nail spot. I came into Ripon nails one day for a pedi and the pedi Cindy did lasted me a month! I have never experienced such a quality pedicure!! Usually I have to do gel in order for the regular polish not to chip off my toes, but somehow, this lasted well over a month. I've returned multiple times now and am very happy with the work she puts in. She's very detail oriented and listens to her customers. I asked for 3 coats on my gel polish and without questioning me, she politely did as I asked. These are the type of things that I look for in a nail salon. So happy I took a chance and came here! It's always a gamble trying a new nail salon. I hope my review (and the others here) help spare you the disappointment and waste of money. The girl who did my nails did not listen to my requests, repeatedly. She would say ok or just nod as though she heard and understood. But in the end she clearly hadn't listened to what I asked for. If there is a language barrier then they've got to have a better system for understanding their customers. You cannot just pretend and then just do what you want! I don't really know the reason. I'm just trying to wrap my head around how they did such a horrible job, I was visibly upset, and they not only charged but I think overcharged because I was visibly upset so they knew there would be no tip. The manager/owner, whatever he is, was aware yet they still charged full/over price. It's just sad when they care more about getting paid for one shotty job than repeat customers and more customers by word of mouth. Called mid day asked for a 4pm appt (sunday) they said no problem i was looking to get a manicure and pedicure. they got me in right away did my pedicure and then manicure and even let me stay a bit over closing time to ensure my nails were dry. Called ahead for a pedicure at 2:23 pm. They said yes I could come in. I said I would be there in 20 because I was coming from Modesto. The lady was super rude when I told her she could do the full pedicure I could not have the lotion because I am allergic to lanolin. Then she gave me the worst pedi in my life! I said she could use the oil or sugar scrub instead. Instead I got nothing! Trimmed my nails and paint and on my way. No stones no massage. And after I was there 20 minutes they had two walk ins that they took with no problem. I thought maybe it was because I was close to closing time but nope. Maybe she didn't believe I was allergic ‍. Walk-In pedicure. Came in on a Saturday around 10:30am and was seating in a chair right away. I noticed everything was really clean and i like that the foot bath was covered with plastic and changed out for every client. The pedicure lasted around 45min or so. Nice and quiet, chair was relaxing. He definitely took his time and made sure my toes were on point once he was done. $20 for service plus tip is definitely worth it !! read more

I've been going to Ripon Hair and Nail about twice a month since they opened in this shopping center and it's my go-to place for a good, affordable mani-pedi.Their prices are extremely reasonable and Tina does an excellent job with acrylics and fills. I'm not sure what the complaint is about not enough colors, because they have a broad range available. When Tina learned that one of my favorite colors was OPI's Russian Navy, on my next visit she had it there for me! What a great touch of customer service. Everyone that works in the shop is very friendly and welcoming. Tran or Kelly usually does my pedicure and when you live in California and are in flip flops 9 months out of the year, you don't fool around with your toes! Always been very happy with how meticulous they are with the polish, taking time to "clean up" edges with small brush. The shop does get busy at times, and as hard as Tina works she can't get to everyone personally, but you can always call ahead of time for an appointment. It's a no-frills shop (no fancy marble flooring, etc) but a pedicure is just $20, a manicure $12 with a discount if you're getting both. The staff doesn't try to up-sell you on services and they make it a point to not rush you out the door until your polish is good and dry like other places do. I have gone here for a few years. They are always very nice, and will fix any mistakes or if I bump the paint. They are also very reasonable. Usually quick but relaxing. They try to accomodate all customers. Some people are demanding and want attention on the spot. That is rude-they try hard to accommodate. I've been coming here since they changed owners about a year ago and try to go for a pedi every 2 weeks or so. I really love their pedi packages here..I do the dead skin removal ($25) and love it! They do a really great job and don't dig into/under your nails like some places and they do hot stones after! I just wish they'd massage longer lol read more

Horrible customer service! We walked in trying to get a full set done in plenty of time before they close and was told they can do it and to just have a seat. After having us sit around and wait a very long time under false hope they said they couldn't do it anymore because a customer sitting there was going to bring a friend and left us trying to find a open a new nail salon 20 minutes before they all Close. We are a paying customer and we were there before the friend of the customer and you are just going to make us wait under false hope. I ended up waiting till the next day to find a better place and after reading the reviews I'm so glad I did! Don't go here unless you want to waste your time. Sooooo...... I've been to Ripon Hair and Nails Salon a few times. It's conveniently close to my house and can usually walk in and get seen pretty quickly. BUT - the past two times I've been there - it's really sucked. I've noticed that Tina (the owner) has had a few different people working there and they're not really doing a very good job. She has a new hair stylist there and her name is Kelly.... well - Kelly did my nails today! It's by far the worst mani/pedi I've ever had! I actually had to go home and fix everything from my nail polish - to the way my nails were filed (they were crooked and all different lengths.) UGH! Another thing about them that I've found is unappealing - is that they don't have a very good selection of nail polish. Most of them look like they've been mixed with other colors... I have taken my own a few times. After the past two pedicures - I've decided I'm not going back. Tina is a nice lady, but nice doesn't do my nails. "Experience" is lacking in this place. If you decide to try out a mani or pedi at this salon - don't let Kelly do your nails. She's really nice, but she needs to stick to doing hair. read more

Got a shellac removal and manicure from here. The shellac removal was good because they barely scrap your nails so the nail damage is minimal. My manicure on the other hand was horrible. The lady didn't even shape my nails with a file. Secondly, I came home and saw strands of lint on 3-4 nails stuck in the nail polish. I allowed enough time for my nail polish to dry but 3 of my nails got messed up within 12 hours with dents and smears. The manicure was a waste of money and lasted for 5-6 hours.
