First experience having a facial and it was AMAZING!…read more The booking process was super easy, I messaged them on Instagram (I was referred by a friend), and I got an appointment within 2 weeks. I received a confirmation email, and a COVID-19 questionnaire via email as well. Lots of parking too, it's located in a little plaza in Richmond. I didn't know what to expect since it was my very first time getting a facial, and I was immediately impressed by the interior/decor at the front desk reception area when I walked in. It's very modern/earthy/chic (eg. white walls, natural plants)- and definitely feels very calming and relaxing. I booked my appointment with Lisa Liang for a La Cachette Signature Facial, and she was very sweet and patient as she walked me through what to expect. Bonus: The washroom are gorgeously decorated as well, and very very clean. The facial lasts a full 1 hour and 15mins or so. The rooms have soft ambient music playing, and the heavy sheets are super super comfortable - you could easily take a nap! I'm not well versed in their products, but various cleansers, exfoliant and peels are gently massaged into my face. Mines ended with a cold jelly mask thing. They use a lot of G.M. Collin skincare products (I also got 2 samples on my way out). My favourite part was starting and ending with a deep breathing exercise with essential oils, and also a little face/head massage at the end. The La Cachette Signature Facial regular price is $135, but I went for a limited time 50% off promo. Overall, it was a very pleasant & relaxing experience. Service was great, and the place was very clean. Highly recommend this place (and Lisa of course!).

I have wavy blonde hair that needs a cut and high lighting 2-3x/year. Tiffany's colour is so natural looking that I was able to grow it out almost 6 months before getting a touch up. Her blow outs are fabulous so i don't always know how the cut will look once I get home and style it curly again. Every time has been a pleasant surprise to find the cut looks as good curly as straight which is hard to do. I used to get Deva cuts and my hair looks better than it ever looked. Tiffany is very experienced so you'll pay a bit more for her (it was around $250 after tip for highlights including wash and dry) but it's so worth it.

When I get there, she starts the process and tells me my skin is bad. I know it's bad so it doesn't really bother me. This is not the type of establishment for a relaxing day. I already knew that when I messaged her. Anyway, the facial goes on, she puts a thick layer of mask on my face and leaves the room. I'm in the room by myself for at least 15 mins. My purse was placed in the room. I was tempted to wipe off the contents off my eyes just to check if my purse was still there. She then comes back into the room and continues with the rest of the facial. She then tells me if I wore looser clothing, she would be able to massage my shoulders. I wasn't told to wear something specific prior to the appointment. And it's winter, so of course I'm wearing a sweater. But she makes it seem like it's my fault. At the end she tells me she has done wonders to my skin. She then tells me I would benefit from the products she used. I politely decline and told her, I'll think about it. She aggressively tells me I don't need to think about it because it's good for my skin. I ignore her. She then tells me the facial she completed for me was not the one I picked. And that I owe her $90. She then tells me if I buy a package to go and see her 10 more times, it'll be $70. No thanks. I tell her that's not what I was quoted. She then reiterated that my skin was so bad and that she had to do it. I didn't want to argue with her any longer. I paid her $90. She counted the 4 twenties and 1 ten dollar bill right in front of me. She even had the audacity to look appalled that I didn't tip her. She's very blunt. And will charge you higher than her initial quote. Do yourselves a favour and pick another establishment. You're welcome

It's about time I posted a review for Wency. She's fantastic, hands down the best wax lady I've…read moreever been to and I hope I never have to find a new salon. I've been going to Waxmi regularly for the past 4 years, and every time, Wency is professional, thorough, clean, and such a pleasure to interact with. Waxing obviously isn't fun, but she makes it almost painless (for real!) and she has a gift for lightening the mood and taking the awkwardness out of it. She has become such an integral part of my hygiene routine, to the point where I see these regular appointments with her as self-care. I'm very prone to in-grown hairs and I never have an issue with her, she's literally that good!! Booking with her is easy and she checks in beforehand too so you can reschedule if needed, without paying any fees. She's a lovely person and is so great at what she does! 5 stars every time, 11/10!!

WOW. I am beyond impressed with Wency and her beautiful studio. Officially making this my new go-to…read morewax spot! I was easily able to book an appointment a few days in advance through the website and had no issues. I got a follow up call and text from Wency to confirm my appointment, which I thought added a great personal touch. I've been getting waxed for 6+ years now and I have never had a more painless and effortless wax experience than with Wency. Since it was my first time coming into Waxmi, I came in a bit earlier than my scheduled appointment to fill out some paperwork. My first thought upon walking into the studio was "This is adorable!" Her studio decor is beautiful and girly, with plenty of artwork and aesthetically pleasing corners. There's even a bowl of gummies in the waiting area. I unfortunately didn't snag any this time around... but next time! Wency welcomed me with a big smile and immediately got me a little cup of water. While I was filling out the paperwork she told me she was just going to go clean the room and get everything ready. Once I was finished with the paperwork, she walked me back to the room and walked me through the procedures. Even though I've gotten waxed before, she made sure I was comfortable and relaxed, which I definitely was! During the procedure, we talked and laughed, in what usually would be an awkard situation for most. I didn't feel a drop of awkwardness at all, which is a sign that Wency does her job right! All in all, the waxing itself probably took about 15 minutes. Quick and easy in my opinion! Due keep in mind, I do have a higher pain tolerance, so even though it was quite painless for me... everybody has a different body and level of pain tolerance. As I was leaving, she told me all about the aftercare, told me to email/text her if anything came up, and gave me a big hug. I felt like I was hanging out with a friend I've known for years... is that weird? Wency is a one-woman superstar who runs her business on her own, and I have serious respect for her being a woman-owned, small business owner. She is so friendly, immediately makes you feel at ease, and fantastic at her job! If you're looking for a place to get waxed, go visit Wency at Waxmi. She'll take care of you and all your waxing needs!

My facial was great and relaxing. My skin felt hydrated and glowy afterwards. My husband said his massage was just alright, nothing to rave about (we regularly get massages somewhere else). Being able to do side by side pedicures was nice but my pedicure wasn't that great. The nails were filed a bit too short and my cuticles were also a bit snagged. I think it's hard for the esthetician to do pedis properly when you're basically lying horizontal on the chair lol... plus the lighting is dimmed for your relaxation. Overall I would return again for a facial but wouldn't go for anything else.

Newest review: Phillip no longer works here. I need to find myself a new RMT elsewhere…read more Not a big fan of the RMT, Simon. What should have left me feeling better after a one hour session, left me feeling nothing but "need" for a better massage after. --- early bird special here is a really sweet deal ($39 before 3pm). I felt like the rooms are perfectly fine. I can see why some people think it resembles a hospital room, but I was perfectly fine with it and the songs they played downstairs. I like how the noise level was kept to a minimal and there's the option of a room on the second floor where you can have your massage in the same room with a friend. However, I prefer downstairs over upstairs. It's a lot less quiet upstairs. My masseuse Tracy wasn't too good....in the sense that I hardly felt anything after the massage. However, I wouldn't mind trying a different masseur/ masseuse next time. Luna's not bad as a masseuse. Favourite so far would be Kelly :) (non RMT) And New favourite, but he's an RMT.... Pricier, but well worth it if you're covered :) Phillip's the name. I was 10 minutes late but he was very chill about everything and gave me my full hour of massage therapy. My shoulders feel so much better/ relaxed now. You definitely feel an obvious difference. He also explained a lot of stuff in Chinese to me and showed me some stretches to improve my problem areas. He speaks English rather well, I just prefer using Chinese. On a side note, they have 3 registered RMT's here that work from Monday to Sunday with different availabilities. I suggest you call in to make an appointment beforehand :) I think this place deserves 4.5 stars :)
