I didn't have high hopes for a salon in the mall, but I have been blown away by the skills and talents of Tiffany and Eccotique. I have wavy blonde hair that needs a cut and high lighting 2-3x/year. Tiffany's colour is so natural looking that I was able to grow it out almost 6 months before getting a touch up. Her blow outs are fabulous so i don't always know how the cut will look once I get home and style it curly again. Every time has been a pleasant surprise to find the cut looks as good curly as straight which is hard to do. I used to get Deva cuts and my hair looks better than it ever looked. Tiffany is very experienced so you'll pay a bit more for her (it was around $250 after tip for highlights including wash and dry) but it's so worth it. read more

I love love love love this spa! Came here for an eyebrow wax and a facial, and now I'm addicted!!! It's so good, now I have to come every week. My go-to aesthetician is Jessica, and she is absolutely wonderful. She is very attentive, super friendly, remembers my skin concerns, and just super professional! My skin is literally glowing right now, and my pores are drastically reduced. I have some pigmentation concerns, and poof, three weeks of facial and I can see clear improvement! Not to mention, unlike a lot of spas and salons, the staff there are not super pushy to sell products. The staff also provide nice tea and fruity water when you arrive. I love Eccotique! This is my go to place for a nice pampering. I've had numerous manicures and pedicures done here as well as massages and facials. I find that compared to other places, especially cheaper nail places, they take their time to clean your nails and apply polish on them. When I come here, I make it a point to allow for extra time so that I don't feel rushed. They also have a nice seating area when i like to go to after my treatment to just relax and have a cup of tea (complimentary). They also have showers available in case you need one. The staff are very professional and friendly. I even had them do my make up for my wedding and I was very happy with how it turned out! Although it's in the mall, their treatment rooms are tucked away in the back so that it is nice and quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle of the mall. I got a 50$ gift card here so i decided to get my brows shaped. WORST experience ever! First of all, the girl that was doing it didn't even SHAPE my brows! Even tho i had a gift card, the price for this place is not cheap.. I just spent the rest of the gift card on joico's shampoo/conditioner and that was the only good investment towards this company.. Got a pedicure last summer. Far more pricey than most. Girl doing the pedicure seemed inexperienced to the point where she barely wrapped the warm towel around my feet (part of the pedicure) and they kept falling off and she didn't fix it or seem to care. Another girl was doing the exact same pedicure beside me and it looked great. It probably depends who you get but the girl I had apparently had 8 years experience. I was very unsatisfied and I even wrote a letter to the company but never got a response. I wouldn't pay that much for something I can get for half the price elsewhere. read more

Booked for an facial and waxing service with Stephanie. Turned out to be a total disappointment! I have had the same facial done at various Aveda Eccotique Spa and have always received very professional service and massage. Unfortunately, the service today was not 60 min as it said on the menu and the experience was below the standard. I stayed in the room for no more than 50 minutes for both my facial and waxing service. The waxing was painful and I can still see several hair left on my upper lip. This used to be my favourite spa place but unfortunately I am afraid that I will not return and will never recommend a friend. I paid FULL price for DISCOUNTED service. I've been here twice for pedicures, and once for a facial. I definitely recommend! Even though it's located inside the mall, the back rooms are extremely quiet, there is absolutely no mall noise that slips through those walls. Both of my pedicures were done extremely well, and the estheticians were super friendly (not overly talkative or gossipy, which is a bonus for me) and knew what they were doing. I was very happy with both times and plan on returning in the future. My facial was also well done, the esthetician used only Aveda products to exfoliate and treat my dehydrated skin. I felt like my face was recharged afterwards. Booking is easy, and there is usually a lot of availability for bookings. The receptionist is friendly, and they always end with a complimentary makeup touchup or Aveda hand massage. Highly recommend! read more

I didn't realize I hadn't written a review for this place so this is long overdue. Two of us went for Peeptoe Pedis here last summer and we LOVED them. We both admired our beautiful feet for weeks afterward, in fact I got 3 weeks worth of self-admiration - I couldn't keep my eyes off my feet, they were just so good-looking! I then had another one and it was just as good, but by then it was shoe season and I didn't get as much opportunity to admire my feet. That's a total of 3 different technicians here who did great jobs. I'm going back for another soon and don't want to be disappointed. My first trim was great. My second trim was great. We had a good rapport going and I started trusting him. I came in for my third trim and he COMPLETELY BUTCHERED MY HAIR! When I walked in, my hair was to the middle of my back and full. All I wanted was a half inch trim all around (my usual). I walked out with a 2 inch trim and the bangs over thinned. On the left half of my head, the hair was shorter at the back and longer towards the chin. On the right of my head, the hair was longer at the back and shorter towards the chin. When you look at my face straight on, the right side was 2-3 inches shorter than the left side. ABSOLUTE DISASTER! I went back exactly one week later to speak to the stylist, he denied that he cut it that way and said that my hair might have fallen out by itself which is why it's shorter in some places and longer in others. The evidence is right there in plain sight on my head yet he denied any wrong doing. The management wouldn't even refund my money right away. I told the stylist my story. Then he disappeared in the back. I had to retell my story to an acting store manager. Then she disappeared in the back. I had to retell a third time to another acting store manager who offered me a "gift card" to put towards future services. WHAT FUTURE SERVICES!! It's going to take 8-12 months for my hair to return to normal! After another round of back and forth, she then offered me a full refund on my credit card. I had to go to a hair shop on Kingsway in Burnaby and purchase hair inserts (hair clips) to cover up the hack job until my hair grows back. read more

I went here today with a gift card from work. I got a half hour massage that they failed to tell me would be done by an esthetician rather then a registered massage therapist. The massage was not bad for someone who isn't formally trained. My 30 minute massage ended up being about 20 minutes long as I was in the 'spa' a total of 30 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I walked out. Not to mention that she got tons of oil in my freshly washed hair that I put up specifically so that wouldn't happen. I asked the receptionist as I was leaving how much a massage would normally cost there, $55!!! I will never be going there again and have written an email to my work who regularly sends us to this spa as a reward that they should probably choose another one. read more

I like this place - it's very clean, the staff are professional, and the atmosphere is relaxing. They have a wide variety of services and products. I only get my eyebrows done here but I can vouch for their manicures and pedicures too (my mother gets them done). I have been VERY happy with my eyebrows every time I've gone in and the best part is I don't have to come back in for another two or three months. Eccotique does charge a little bit more than other salons in the area - a standard eyebrow wax/shape is $16 - but I don't mind paying a bit more for such a great job. read more

TERRIBLE. I went here to get my upper lip and eyebrows done before my wedding - and the "professional" RIPPED MY SKIN. She covered it up with makeup before letting me see myself in the mirror. When I got home, I took the coverup off because it stung so bad and found THREE STRIPS OF MY UPPER LIP MISSING. I burst into tears... the day before I left for my destination wedding, she RUINED MY FACE. DO NOT GO HERE. My worst nightmare come true.
