Inside there are only high top tables. So uncomfortable. And not very ADA compliant. There some pool tables, Barrio blonde on tap, and some tvs to watch sports. For food you order from next door at Brooklyn pizza. We had a plain cheese. It was awful. I took it home and my roommate didn't want it either. Extremely disappointing experience at Sky Bar. The food came out cold and lacked flavor. The staff was rude, inattentive, and seemed more interested in anything other than helping customers. We waited far too long for basic service and felt ignored most of the night. Overall, between the poor food quality and bad service, this was not an experience I'd recommend or repeat. I go to Arizona once a month and try to check out new bars/ breweries and restaurants. Stayed in downtown Tucson and yelped places and this bar popped up in the top 10. My husband and I went and to start off, the bar was empty-ish, which, to me is good because there was plenty of seating before the crowd got bigger. The service was great and the drinks were so good. They had a DJ that played great tunes and got people on the dance floor. Also, this bar is inexpensive which I'm surprised because we paid $85 for 4 shots and 5 drinks and we usually pay double that. I would recommend visiting here but we did hear from our uber that this bar is well known spot for white supremacists so keep that in mind if you're not white(we are probably like 2 of 5 Latinos in there). Look, I love SkyBar -- or at least I wanted to love it -- but apparently they're running a secret sauna business on the side. It's 110 degrees outside, and inside they've helpfully cracked open every door and window so the desert sun can come in and finish you off. There were two fans fighting for their lives and one heroic swamp cooler that honestly deserves a raise and a cold shower. I asked the bartender if they could turn on the A/C and she just sighed, "I wish, but the owners won't let us." Same, girl, same. I was hoping for a chill drink or three but ended up doing a speedrun back to my car before I melted through the floor. Maybe I'll try again in December when it's only 75 degrees at midnight. It could be from where they get their energy--the covered parking is made of solar panels that power this establishment. It could also be from the community of stargazers they've fostered. We love Skybar! We come mostly to get a look at the stars and planets, but we usually have a few drinks as well. Kirk or Kurt the gentleman at the telescope is very knowledgeable and friendly we really enjoy chatting with him. We also came for Halloween and enjoyed the jelly shots and costumes. The love music is always good. Some of the indoor layout is a little strange not that appealing, however if you look past the meh esthetics you will find that the service is decent, the drinks/ prices are good and so is the music. First off the music was blaring loud, which makes sense on a weekend night, but on a Sunday afternoon to a mostly empty bar it impeded the few conversations people were trying to have. Beyond that it was not clean. They have plywood tables that were not wiped down and there was a faint bar aroma in the air. Despite being almost completely empty the bar feels cluttered. The Halloween visit was pre-COVID and the other visit was just after the restrictions were lifted. The experiences were very different, and I'm just talking about the recent visit. I went on a day when they were trying a new drink menu. The theme was cosmic blue, and all the drinks were blue. They were cool to look at, but taste wise they were not special in any way. I liked my drink, but one of my friends got a drink that was not my taste. So I guess it depends on your taste. The vibe itself feels more like a garage than a bar, but I think that's the goal. I've been looking forward to a visit to Sky Bar for a few months. People rave about the music, telescopes, drinks, and ambiance. So let's break it down. The music on the night that I went was Okay-Ish followed by Truly Awful. The first guy was just a dude with a guitar playing some blues. Cool. The second set was a band from Portland consisting of 2 people who basically drove us out of the bar after 10 minutes. The next thing is the outdoor patio with telescopes. It was too cold and cloudy on the night the I went, so I can't provide specifics. However, the space seems pretty awesome, but I'll bet there's too much light pollution down there to get a really good view. Full stars for doing it and making an attempt at being awesome though. Next, we come to drinks. I was able to taste the macchiato and ginger ale. Both were made fresh and made right. The guy pulled a great double espresso for my macchiato (made in the traditional sense with just a touch of foam on top). The guy ordering a drink next to me was the morning bartender who said he was the one to make the ginger ale that morning. Of course, we had to try it and it was amazing. It's really strong though, so I asked the bartender to give me a touch of ginger ale with some soda-water, which suited me to a T. Kudos on the drinks!! Finally ambiance, which includes service IMO. The bartenders here are pretty awesome. Really chill and non-snotty. The seating is a little odd; several really large tables for big groups, and some loungy chairs which can be dragged around the fit your group. The cushions are in desperate need of replacement though. The outside patio looked like a great place to hang out with your friends during a warm summer night. I might give this place another try because I really love some live blues and I hear that Tom Walbank plays here on Tuesdays. That would really be the only draw though. read more

For my money, one of the nicer places to meet in Tucson, although the character of the space changes depending on the time of day, the season of the year, the day of the week, and various other factors you may wish to take into account depending on what you want to do while you're there. It could be loud and dark and crowded or bright and quiet and empty. People should probably not read my reviews for bars, or coffee shops, because I don't like alcohol or caffeine or the generally carb-loaded menus you find in either place, but, as our society has deemed that bars and coffee shops are the go-to places for adults to meet, there must be others like me, doomed always to find their friends in atmospheres that are sub-optimal for their tastes, happy to find one in which they can make themselves relatively comfortable while sipping water from a small plastic cup. Sky Bar has a nice caché, with its various furniture clusters, indoor/outdoor feel, solar powered everything, and nightly star parties with telescopes and astronomers. Also, pool tables. If the bar menu does get you stirred up, some businesses on 4th, particularly Brooklyn Pizza, will deliver their food to you at Sky Bar. People seem to like the drinks, both alcoholic and caffeinated, so don't expect any problems there. read more
