Misinformation
Mitch L.

I boarded my dog here for one night and left with serious concerns about their basic standards of care. I provided pre-portioned meals with clear written instructions and confirmed them twice -- once over the phone before drop-off and again in person. The instructions were simple and routine. Despite that, my dog was not fed dinner, and her breakfast instructions were only partially followed. More concerning, when I reached out after noticing their app did not show her dinner as completed, I was told she had been fed. That information was incorrect. I also did not receive any of the updates or reports that were expected during her stay, and my message to support went unanswered for approximately 9 hours. At pickup, I was handed back her untouched dinner along with the remaining portion of her breakfast, confirming the instructions had not been followed. When I raised this with staff, the only resolution offered was a credit toward a future stay. This experience reflects a breakdown not just in communication, but in executing the most basic responsibilities of pet care.

Skiptown is honestly one of Krypto's favorite places. He somehow always knows when we're pulling up and gets so excited, whether it's for daycare or to hang out at the bar/park with me. I love that when I drop him off for daycare, I get a Skipper Report with photos and little updates about his day--like who he played with, his "besties," and just his overall mood. It makes me feel way more connected when I'm not there. And the photoshoots they offer are the cutest. I've definitely signed him up for those, too. I got Krypto when he was 12 weeks old, and once he was old enough, we had to try it (I kept seeing ads and was curious). As someone who's always loved dogs, fostered, and now is a dog mom, it really does feel like such a special place. I genuinely think going here and being around other dogs in a safe, social environment helped him become super confident and really good with other dogs, big or small. The staff (the Skippers) are honestly the best. Everyone's great, but I've especially gotten to know Cyndi, and it's been really nice having that familiarity. You can tell they genuinely care, and Krypto loves her!! Overall, he's just such a happy boy, and I feel like places like this make such a difference for dogs who enjoy being social. He's made so many little friends too--Juno, Disco, Nora, Bronco, Willa, Frank--which makes it even more fun to keep coming back!

Skiptown is such a fun spot! The concept of an off-leash dog park combined with a bar is super cool, you can relax with a drink while your pup runs and plays. Great vibes, friendly staff, and an awesome place to hang out with both dogs and himans

Skiptown is truly a heaven for dogs and their owners. Although you don't have to have a dog to enter! They have a full bar/dog park, as well as boarding and grooming. Super fun to take your dog there and enjoy a drink or two after work (or while you work, they have WiFi!). Make sure to check this place out if you're looking for a dog friendly activity

Great value for 15$ per mo membership. My dog loves it there, and I enjoy grabbing a beer while he makes friends. It's all dog people, the rules are simple and the staff is friendly and keeps things clean and minimize drama. As. So nice to not have dog dirt from the other local off-leash parks tracked into the car. Dogs learn dog etiquette from each other and their people do too. The rules: -Don't let your dog be a menace -pick up the poo (if you miss it, the staff "skippers" will get it. -no fetch -no shnacks.

Ready for that zoom mtg.

Amazing! Highly recommend. Incredible staff, fun dogs, great humans, and it's really assuring to know all the other dogs are healthy and monitored. My pup is 1 y/o and needed dog and human socialization--it felt a little intimidating at first, but the skipper staff are great at watching the dogs and keeping everyone safe. When I say "Skiptown" my dog RUNS to the back door, ready to go.

Nice trails all around the building & a cute park with lots of grass for your pup in the rear .

Nice place for pups to play & burn energy. They also have doggy daycare & grooming available. Huge dog park with a beer bar, snacks & coffee options . People come for hours and work on their laptops. Indoor & outdoor seating available.

First day of daycare pic that they send home!

My one and only complaint about Skiptown is how I didn't come up with this concept sooner! If you're a dog owner and you're over 21, you will love this place. Skiptown is a dog lover's dream. I actually don't think you even need a dog to get in here, but of course, much better when you can bring your pup in here to tire them out. It's essentially a fully off-leash dog park with a bar that serves coffee, cocktails, beer, wine - all the yummy bevs, but highly recommend their Frozen Espresso Martini. They have membership options where you get unlimited access to their facilities and get discounts on their boarding, grooming, daycare, and training services. They do have drop-in too for $15/day per pup and fun fact: humans get in for free! My dog and I absolutely LOVE this place. A few musts before you get in here: it's 21 and up only and your dog has to be spayed or neutered with their vaccine records uploaded on the app before you can get in. All good things tbh! The space is clean and open and staff has always been warm and friendly and I love that they have "Skippers" all over keeping an eye on the dogs and making sure no one gets too rowdy/crazy/humpy. They're also great about picking up any #2s that are bound to happen and sanitizing the area immediately. Skiptown is pretty much my new fave hangout in Denver. Highly recommend!

Excellent dog park.

Really great place to hang out with your dog. The staff are very friendly and great with dogs. The drink and snack bar is well stocked. They have cocktails, beer, sodas and coffee drinks. They also have big screen televisions so you can watch sports. Just don't wear any favorite shoes. You never know if a dog will decide to use you to potty.

Prior to visiting Skiptown Denver, we registered Forbes online and uploaded his vaccination records (this is required for all dogs).

This off-leash dog park in Denver has a full bar onsite... Last weekend, we took our dog, Forbes, to Skiptown Denver and this place had us all wagging our tails. This off-leash dog park in the heart of RiNo was more than just a playground for pups; it was a full-blown dog lover's paradise. Prior to visiting Skiptown Denver, we registered Forbes online and uploaded his vaccination records (this is required for all dogs prior to play or stay). As soon as we entered Skiptown Denver, Forbes's tail went into overdrive. The indoor/outdoor park was buzzing with happy pups, and Forbes immediately jumped into the action, making new friends and zooming around. Skiptown Denver provided the perfect environment for Forbes & all the other dogs. The spacious dog park offered ample opportunities for running, playing, and socializing. Skiptown had staff actively onsite monitoring dog play, water level in dog bowls, and cleaning up after the pups. While Forbes was busy with his doggy social calendar, we grabbed some beers and chilled at a table by the bar. Skiptown offered pretty much everything a dog owner could need, from daycare and boarding to grooming and training. They even had a walking service, so your pup can get their daily exercise fix. I highly recommend checking out Skiptown - your furry friend will thank you.

Our vet recommended Juliet and The Loyal Hound when our younger female Australian Shepherd began…read moreshowing some concerning behaviors, including deep growling at the vet, fence running, and resource guarding. We wanted to address the behavior early rather than let it become more established, so within about six weeks of it starting, we enrolled her in a board-and-train program. We ultimately decided to put both of our Aussies through separate programs: both females, one five years old and the other about a year and a half. The difference has been night and day. Both dogs now have reliable recall, walk calmly on leash, and for the first time, we feel genuinely confident having them off leash. They no longer react to wildlife or other dogs on hikes, the fence running and excessive barking have stopped, and they can calmly sit with us at outdoor cafes and other dog-friendly public spaces. The "place" command has been especially valuable. They can settle calmly for extended periods, which has been a true game changer both at home and when we're out with them. Most importantly, both dogs seem more confident because they understand what is expected of them. My husband and I are also much more consistent and aligned in how we communicate with them and provide the structure they need to be successful. We've enjoyed continuing to work with them every day and building on the foundation Juliet provided. The overall atmosphere in our home is noticeably calmer, more harmonious, and far less frustrating for both us and the dogs. Juliet has also continued to follow up and check in to make sure the dogs are doing well, which is something you don't always see once a training program is finished. It's a tangible sign that she genuinely cares about the dogs' long-term success, and it has reinforced for us that this was absolutely the right investment for our family.

Two of them are my problem children: a Rottweiler mix foster fail who is reactive to bikes and other dogs and occasionally nervous around people like visiting contractors or UPS men, and the other is a 100+ lb Brazilian mastiff rescue from Aruba who is not fond of other dogs. The two of them began showing increasingly worse dog aggression toward other dogs on the trail and while camping, and had attacked several dogs by the time I found Loyal Hound/Juliet. I was at my wit's end, because I had already spent thousands of dollars and tried everything including other trainers at that point with little to no progress. I felt stuck with 2 big problems for the next 6-8 years. I hike at least 3 miles every single day off leash on the trails by my house, and I love to camp with my dogs in the summer, but they became such a liability that walks became stressful and camping became impossible. I finally found Juliet with Loyal Hound, and for our very first session we met at a crowded park and were going to be doing off leash training right away. I was so nervous -- all the triggers were present: other people with dogs on leashes, dogs off leashes, people on bikes, squirrels -- so I was absolutely AMAZED when we were walking my Rottweiler off leash through a gaggle of geese, past people on bikes, and past other dogs within a few minutes with no problems. It was nothing short of a miracle. Within a few sessions, I had both of my dog aggressive dogs walking on and off leash next to me, passing other dogs (sometimes dogs that were even barking at them) on trails safely with no reactivity. I cannot explain in words how much of a difference this has made in my life -- I feel like I got my life back. If you have a dog aggressive dog, this is the place to go. It's WELL worth the investment, and you will be amazed at the difference you will see in your dog. Thank you Loyal Hound & Juliet!!

Scott is amazing, and we can't recommend Chill Out Dog Training enough!…read more We adopted a 9 month old, 80 lb (now 110 lb) golden retriever from a local rescue in mid-2023. A complete contrast to our older collie/aussie mix, he was full of energy and naughtiness (a puppy), and a nightmare to control. Prior to being surrendered by his (previous) family, he went through two weeks of out of home boarding/training, costing upwards of $7,000. We thought this would have helped with obedience, but boy were we wrong. Fast forward two and a half years, sessions with a certified behaviorist, and failed attempts to use an e-collar, we were at a loss. He constantly displayed leash reactivity, would lunge at cars and dogs, and made it so we would rarely walk anywhere. He almost broke my finger during a break free lunge at a dog completely across a residential street! At home, dog forbid another animal appeared on the tv; he would jump and bark at everything. Then we found Chill Out... After the very first session with Scott, our big boy golden was a different dog. Scott set is up with the right tools to refocus our dogs behavior and break him of his leash reactivity. That very first walk was pleasant and uneventful. We almost felt foolish for claiming bad behavior. What we needed was the right trainer and methods to help our dog change behavior. Like I said at the beginning, I can't recommend Chill Out Training enough.

I was feeling anxious about taking her on walks and wanted to fully enjoy our time together again! She's the best little dog and is so loyal to my husband and I, and I just wanted her to be living her absolute best life with us. Dan helped me understand the dog pack mentality, and how important it was that Lucy see my husband and I as pack leaders. Before even working with Lucy he was extensive and clear about the psychology behind the training methods he would teach me. I was afraid that Lucy would be aggressive toward him being in our home since she has a history of aggression with visitors to our home, but he immediately taught me successful methods to introduce Lucy to new people within our den and Lucy grew to trust and love him quickly during our very first session! Early on in our session, it was apparent that Lucy was gaining respect for me as her pack leader. Everything from Pomeranians to Labrador and Golden Retrievers and every breed, temperament and personality in between. It's easy to find trainers but it can be really hard to find a GOOD trainer! Over the years, we've spent thousands on dog behavior veterinarians, breed specific trainers, and your basic pet store group classes. All of these can work for some dogs, but not all. We lost our two black Labrador brothers this past summer to age related health problems. We were completely devestated. We didn't know if we could do it again until Jack decided for us. Jack is a male Bichon mix rescue, but who rescued who? Jack rescued us - literally ! When we got Jack home we wanted to start out on the right foot immediately. We used two online trainings - waste of money and time. We asked, searched and found several self-proclaimed and "guaranteed results" trainers. You had a time limited training. From past training experiences, if your dog didn't learn everything in that timeframe you were left feeling frustrated and confused as to what to do next. Then we found Adrienne at Bark Busters. They aren't inexpensive, but when we found out they would be partners for the life of our dog, we were hooked. In over 40 years of our dogs and training, Adrienne is the ONLY trainer who actually knows what she's doing. Jack began training as a timid puppy who then developed into a defiant teenager with an attitude. Adrienne has given us the tools and behavioral changes we needed to make to consistently provide Jack with age appropriate expectations. We now understand how to think like a dog and speak "dog". Jack is becoming calm and confident that we are the leaders and he can enjoy being a puppy. Thank you Adrienne!

Our experience with Bruce at Dog Behaviors Denver has been absolutely phenomenal. We have a…read moreShepherd/Cattle Dog mix (high energy, high intelligence), and before meeting Bruce, we had tried multiple trainers, most of whom were only okay. Initially, we knew some basic commands, but the biggest struggle we could not overcome was our dog's obedience or reactivity concerns. Before Bruce, our dog did not do well with other dogs and people on walks, and guests couldn't come to our home due to fear of being accidentally hurt by him. Our lowest point was when our boy bit a lady at a local Farmer's Market, where we were attempting to do some training with him, and he became startled. We utilized as much of the training we had worked on with other trainers, but it wasn't enough. That's when we called Bruce. Here's our experience: at the initial meeting, we were very impressed with Bruce's resume and we could tell by his skill-set that he would be able to turn our boy around. Bruce had over 15 years experience working with dogs who were relinquished due to aggression or behaviors at a local humane society, turning them into confident, obedient and adoptable dogs. Not to mention, he also trained in Germany for 3+ years overseas with a military-style training for police dogs. Bruce uses a combination of high-drive reinforcement and timely corrections One thing to keep in mind though, you get out what you put in. If you aren't willing to do the work, Bruce might not be the right guy for you. We were pretty motivated and found a lot of success with Bruce. Within the first few sessions, we saw noticeable changes in our dog's behavior; he was gaining confidence through the consistency and training Bruce taught us about. Bruce's ability to fine-tune all the mixed signals we were giving AND giving us detailed explanations of why they were important to correct, completely changed everything for us. He even explains the science behind some of the techniques, which we appreciated. Our closest family and friends knew all the struggles we had experienced with our boy before Bruce. They have been so impressed with how much progress our dog has made. We would absolutely recommend Bruce to anyone needing dog training. You will be able to tell the passion and love for what he does the first time you meet him!
