I gave this a 3/5 stars. Wait times were a bit long and unfortunately appetizers came out same time as pizzas so that wasn't great. They are definitely pricey! We did dine in, visit was late June 2024. 5 people with 1 mixed drink 2 appetizers and 2 Family/Large pizzas came out to roughly $141. The dip bread was not good in my opinion. Focaccia was dry and the olive oil balsamic vinegar dip was nothing special. We also ordered the fried ravioli which was roughly 8 pieces. They forgot to bring us the creamy marinara dip for it so that was that. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and Olgiasca. The Olgiasca was really good! The pepperoni was basic. Overall visit was tad rushed because it was almost closing time and waitress was not at all attentive to us or our table, but we still tipped nicely. Can't say I would be back for dining. Maybe takeout only for their specialty pizzas. read more

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant, the first to eat in and today to get take out. If you want food to arrive within a reasonable time DO NOT eat at this place. We waited 20 minutes for a small salad and a side of fries, after 20 minutes I asked the hostess to check on my food and she came back with a warm salad and soft fries. There is a strange set up to this place, lots of employees chatting to each other and not much else getting done. I tried to have eye contact with 2 of their employees that ignored me!!! The pizza itself is excellent! So good! The best! It's the service that sucks. The service would be a negative 10 if that was an option. They're fully staffed. That's not the problem. The problem is that the employees are sitting around socializing with each and other, and not paying attention to their customers. For example, it took forever to get our pizza, I'd say it made it to our table around 30+ minutes after ordering it. The server drops the pizza off and 10 mins later we actually have to flag an employee down for plates. Was our group supposed to eat pizza off of napkins or thin air? Weird. Everything was slow or neglected. The pizza? Yummy! All the stars are for the cooks/chefs. Another time. I ordered the pizza for pickup. I was starving. I got dressed, and braved the night cold. Got there...and the employees inform me that they don't have my pizza. They closed early due to their company event. WTH???? They didn't even call me to cancel my order! I don't live next door! The manager tells me he will refund my account, and I can get a 20% discount "next visit". 20% off???? I deserve a free fkn pizza!!! So yeah, love the food...but that's it. It's really unfortunate that they have terrible staff. The food is quite good and I would go to there more if they had better staff. Omg.... this place is nasty... let's start off at the uncleaned table which was sticky and still had sauce.. then the menu that pretty much was the same ( smelly and sticky definitely old beer).. The kids play place had handprints and grime on it.Probably since it was first put there.Extra disgusting. Especially when eating hand food. Went to dinner with friends Friday night. I had the shrimp pasta, hubby had some other pasta dish, kids shared a pizza and our friends had chicken piccata and a personal pizza. We sat upstairs which was very night. There was a large group so it was pretty loud. If you want a quiet conversation downstairs might be better. The outside space is beautiful! Giomar was our server, and I'd recommend asking for someone else if you get him. This was probably the worst service I've ever experienced. I went out for a date night with my daughter and sister. I ordered an appetizer first and then my drinks while waiting for my sister to arrive. Drinks came out quickly. Once my sister arrived, we ordered another appetizer. (I received a phone call shortly after she got there.) While I was on the call, the server asked my sister if we were ready to order. I quickly set my phone down, and we ordered our meals. After some time, I realized our first appetizer hadn't come, so I asked about it. He said he didn't put it in because I was on my phone. I reminded him that I had ordered it before my sister even got there--before the drinks were ordered. He repeated his excuse about me being on my phone, even though I'd put the call on hold to place the meal order. Wasn't even on my phone when I arrived to the restaurant.. After that, the server never came back to our table. Other staff brought out our food, and when we finished eating, the manager came by to check if we needed anything. We placed a to-go order, and while waiting for it, the check was dropped off. During that time, four different people came by asking if we were ready to pay. It felt so uncomfortable, almost like they thought we were going to walk out without paying. Here's the irony: between us, my sister and I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years. So no, Giomar didn't earn a 20%, tip. read more

We frequent Skips Oakley 2 maybe 3 times/week & have had bday, anniversary celebrations. Great staff, good food. Love to sit at the bar & order dinner, drinks. Went recently & were surprised to see there were 2 seats RESERVED at the bar - usually that's on a first come basis. Reservations should be for dining at restaurant, right? Disappointed, will probably go back but not as often. Also once you start this many will want to reserve. Pretty soon the whole bar will be reserved! read more

Joe, our server, was the bomb! Not only does he get kudos for recognizing half our party as repeat customers and welcoming them back, he checked on us so many times to make sure we had everything we needed. He even noticed from across the room that one of our girls' drink was not what she ordered purely from the look on her face when she took a sip and had it corrected immediately. 5 stars for Joe! I started off with the Fire of Olympus. Talk about sweet heat! I could feel the burn from the jalapeño down my throat. I liked it! I munched on my friend's fagiolini fritti (fried green beans) and spinach artichoke dip. Both yummy with quite an unexpected spicy kick to them. The lasagna with the bolognese was fantastic! Hearty, beefy, saucy. I would definitely order this again! Love the cute interior of the restaurant and ample outdoor patio seating on the ground floor as well as the second! They even have a few cornhole boards set up outside. Hopefully, the wind will die down so we can enjoy it next time. The only issue we had was we were initially seated at a dirty table with the AC cranking full blast overhead. We asked if we could change tables, and we were accommodated without issue. This was my first time being here and I wasn't a complete fan of it because of the prices. 17.00+~ for a personal pizza that was just average. I could get unlimited toppings for 10$ at a Pieology. 9$ for a that small cup of margarita that didn't really stand out too much with the flavors. I came here to hang out with some gals so that was the most enjoyable part of my experience here. I also really appreciated the waitresses, they were really friendly and did a great job taking care of all 8 of us and made us feel welcomed the entire time. Overall, I wouldn't come back because of the prices. I think there's just better places to go where you can get more bang for your buck. read more

Then we drive over to an area we go to for lunch a lot and he pulls into a parking spot and says, we're going to Skips. My reaction was a but shocked as we lived next to two other Slip locations for years and he never wanted to go. As we walk up, I chuckle as there was a corn whole game set up on the small lawn area on the side of the building. Then as we walked up to the front, my husband opens the door and I step in. Thats when my jaw drops to the floor. I was not expecting a swank upscale restaurant, full bar, see through kitchen, upstairs patio area with another full bar, outside dining and regular dining tables as well. This place was beautiful and made the other two look run down. So we asked the bar tenders for the drink special and was suggested to try their version of a jalapeño margarita! IT WAS EPIC! Spicy and Sweet with neither overpowering the other. And then the chicken and capers with linguini!!!! SOOOOOOO DELISH! NEEDLESS TO SAY, Im going back for SURE! Redeemed. Friday night dinner with friends. Started with skips dip, margarita, prego, and black and blue. Service was amazing this time around. The restaurant was buzzing, packed out the door and waitress did not miss any refills, napkins, or boxes to go. We ordered (3) three small pizzas and each came out perfectly crispy and chewy crust. The black and blue pizza was actually my favorite with the mushrooms and sausage. Our friends were first timers and they loved every bite. General manager Victor introduced himself and gave us history on Skipolini's and was super friendly and welcoming. We assured him we would come back again and try out the sky deck and outside seating areas. There's a second menu page with pastas and appetizers we have yet to try. ZERO STARS!! Absolutely the worst dinner of our life's! First I'd like to start by saying that we have loved this Skips for years. This was so absolutely disappointing, I'm upset and sad to say they have completely lost our business. Our experience went like this: We arrive at the front to ask for a table of five... the lady said it will be 20 minutes or so until we can be seated OR we could be seated immediately at the bar (to get some drinks while we wait for a table) so we went with that option. Quickly got some drinks going and while sitting waiting to order our food we asked the lady about the dice on the table and how the game worked, she replied with ( we are not allowed to show customers how the game works because we have won to much money in tips from customers in the past) so that was a red flag to start. We sat at the bar for about 20 to 25 minutes with zero word about our table. So we decided to go back to the front and ask if we could be seated in the dinning area for comfier seats, cleaner tables and better service. We were seated. Quickly our food was ordered, after already being there for almost an hour. We ordered one appetizer soup, and it came out completely incorrect and not the soup that was ordered, also was ice cold. We then attempted for another 15 to 20 minutes to get the servers attention to get the soup replaced, then finally was able to get the correct soup to come out. We then waited about another 30 minutes for our food and that's where it really went bad... completely over cooked burgers almost like they where left overs and slapped back on the grill, fries that literally would bounce off the plate they were so hard, zero flavoring at all in any of the food, salad so soggy you probably could have ringed it out like a towel , and the worst part of it all ... the pasta dish was so caked in oil/butter that 15 minutes later the individual that ate it was puking in a bathroom for over 30 to 40 minutes because of it. All in all don't recommend anymore.. tables were extremely dirty, service was the complete worst , management needs to step up there game so much potential lost at this establishment. Let me just say that I am SUPER Excited that Skipolini's is now in Oakley. I grew up in the East Coast NY/NJ and I have been very picky about pizza out here in California. What makes a great pizza???? Well folks... it's the GRAVY ( and that's SAUCE for most people). Skipolini's has great sauce and to follow comes great dough crust and thickness. I'm a foldable slide kind of gal and that's exactly what I did when I ate my first take-out order from Skipolini's. Today's order: 2 Medium Pies Combination: Ground Beef, Salami, Pepperonj, Mushrooms, Olives, Bell Peppers, Onions and Sausage Margherita: Garlic infused olive oil, Basil, Mozzarella Cheese, and Roma Tomatoes I asked for extra "Sauce" for my Margherita and I was not disappointed. The crust was still crunchy (not burnt) on the outside and yet soft inside. They are definitely generous on my mozzarella. But oh Mannnggg... I can't say it enough ... their Gravy/Sauce (tomato sauce) is so delicious. You can actually see chunks of tomatoes besides the slices of tomatoes on my slices. If you like simple pizza... do yourself a favor and taste the Margherita! You won't regret it. Combination was just as good and portions of meat ratio to veggies are great. My hubby ordered on the phone. Staff was very helpful considering this was my hubby's first time having Skipolini's and she answered all his questions. Covid Pickup: 1. Pickup is located at the back of the restaurant 2. Tent and table setup for pickup 3. Hand Sanitizers available on table 4. Staff all wearing masks and gloves 5. Staff is very organized in getting orders ready 6. Asked for name for next customer to pay 7. After payment, another staff member brings out the order Skipolini's Pizza may have opened up during Covid times but they are doing Awesome!! horrible! way over due review. literally every time i order for p/u i swear these people wait for you to actually get there instead of making the pizza when you really order it. i'm always 40 min away, order to p/u then i get there and it's yet another 40 min for me to get my pizza. this is absolutely ridiculous. so 80 total min for a pizza?!? where's the owner during this? also....i already gave you my card info over the phone so it's not like i'm not good for the pizza. its paid for. so make it! stop waiting for customers to get to your store before you make a pizza. it's rude as shit! the whole reason we order well ahead is so it's ready not to have to wait a whole other almost hour for it. do better. be better! makes me not even want to order from you guys bc so far this has happened about 10 times to me so i believe it's your m.o to wait for the customer to get there before you actually make the pizza even though it's paid for. pathetic. update: thanks for informing people you don't wait for people to get there before you make pizza but this doesn't explain your 80 min wait time for a pizza that i consistently have to wait for . this is absolutely ridiculous and for me to have to search for you to make sure my pizza is done correctly and on time, its sad. i have to reach out to a manager to have my pizza done at the correct time. shouldn't your staff just do there job and make my pizza instead if me having to reach a manager to make sure its done. now i feel like im do your guys job to make sure my pizza is done. like i said, do better, train your staff better and get stuff done instead of inconveniencing your customers that pay for food that should be done correct correctly and on time! dont tell me 25 min for p/u yet i get there 40 min later knowing you guys are never on time and still having to wait an additional 40 min of a a full total 80 min.
