I was surprised when I was contacted by Kim, the spa owner, to remedy the previous problems I had. I decided to give them a second chance even though I am currently happy with the lady who currently does waxing for me. Kim actually recomended Carly to do the service and I was pleased with the job she did. Overall, I liked the experience but it was simply mediocre. These are the main reasons why: I got there on time but still had to wait about 25 minutes before I was taken in, she seemed like Carly was in a rush and actually confirmed this as she left before I was even able to give her a tip, and the girl at the front desk when I checked out was new and didn't really know what she was doing (had to call someone to complete my transaction). Now, I am not heartless, I have been new to jobs too, but as an avid Yelper I just cannot see giving Skinsations Spa more then 3 stars, because that is was it is, average. I would definitely make this spa my regular waxing spot if it weren't further then my current lady and if I had a better then average experience when I gave them a second chance. read more

I had a massage and facial a few months ago. The massage was okay the facial with Kay was awesome. I have been using the skin care line and am really impressed. My 3 star review is due to the fact that when I went in today to purchase products one of the employees assumed I was 7 months pregnant. I had a baby 4 weeks ago... While I can acknowledged my body is working its way back I am amazed that strangers find it appropriate to comment on my body shape, pregnant or not. read more

I came here for a holiday special- Bath, Facial, Massage. It was a lovely combo my only suggestions are that the facial come before the massage since the massage has less chatter and is so relaxing. I had amanda for a massage and it was delightful. I also really enjoyed Ray who did the bath and soak for me. I do suggest that they make the water a tad bit warmer and put more smelly goodies in the bath and offer a loofah!! The facial was nice but too much talking for my style. Also, the snacks were not as good as my prior visit. When I first went there were 3 kinds of cookies and sliced fruit. This time only some old whole fruit, one sad cookie selection and not much more. It may seem silly but the snacks and animal warmer are what really put this place over the top for me compared to other places I can choose from in the area. read more

MAGICAL experience! went there for my birthday to treat myself i got the Dirty Girl Package with the 30 min hydrojet tub and it was UH-MAZING! i was like a little girl giddy with happiness with my experience. I did the Refuge of Living Waters Spa package and it was amazing. It was so relaxing and refreshing. My masseuse Maria did a great job with my body peel and massage. I also really enjoyed the facial I received by Christina. I got to talk to the Owner LeAine after, who is very friendly, and I got a chance to learn about her skincare products. All the staff was welcoming and friendly. I was on a vacation getaway and I felt very pampered and well taken care of. From the moment I walked in, I received friendly smiles and warm welcoming. I was pleasantly greeted by Melissa. She gave me the tour. I went to Skinsations many years ago. They have expanded since then. I was anxious to go back since we recently moved back to OC. I had the most wonderful facial and peel from Kristin. It was so relaxing. It's more than a facial. The shoulder and foot massage were wonderful! I already noticed fine lines have softened and my skin is luxurious. I also purchased the product kit and so far I am very happy with Leanne's product line. Jay is the best massage therapist I have been to in years. He really knows what he is doing. He studied massage therapy, worked in physical therapy as a massage therapist for five years, and has worked with Skinsations for years (I think he said 13 years total experience -- and trust me, it shows!). I highly, highly recommend Jay! No more massage-club (untrained massage therapists) massages for me. The spa is so nice inside. Robes, slippers, fruit, water, cookies, tea, nap and relaxation rooms, all very nicely done. Had a very enjoyable experience at Skinsations. I will definitley return. I had a facial from Allison who made me very comfortable, gentle and was very knowledgeable about the products. Upon entering, you should be going "Ahhhhh, so glad I am here!" I was only glad to be having my facial from Allison. The decor is extremely lacking - the reception area has absolutely no flow, is very confusing and just needs to be completed done over by painting and bringing in new desks to hide the cords. Virginia gives the most amazing and relaxing facial EVER! I am very particular about services and my skin is highly sensitive so it's hard to find a great combo. Every stroke is soothing. She is knowledgeable without being talkative or pushy. The smell of each of the products was delightful. I look forward to my next appointment! And this micro-lift machine she used following the facial made instant improvement in my skin's firmness and the appearance of my forehead wrinkles that have begun to bother me. I have been a client of Skinsations now for about 10 years and I love it. From the minute you walk in the door and are greeted by the wonderful smells and the welcomed by the receptionist you immediately start to relax. After changing into your robe in a private dressing room you go to the Tea Room where you are treated to a hot foot soak and warm towel for your neck or face, then your therapist comes to get you for your treatments. I have had full body massages, facials and once a body wrap-they have all been wonderful!! The one time I ran into a problem was over the holidays in 2009, I had booked appointments for myself, my Mom & Sister who was a first timer from out of town. Apparantly they had double booked our appointments but they went out of their way to accomidate us by calling in a couple extra therapists who were off that day, sent us over to have breakfast at Mimi's Cafe (they paid the bill) and got us in about an hour later than our original appointments. As if that wasn't enough they also threw in an extra treatment for each of us, the candle lit aroma hydrotherapy soak. They went above and beyond to remedy the error. My daughter surprised me with a Groupon Spa Day and when we arrived for our appointment we were warmly greeted, shown a few areas and lead to the quiet tea room. There were luscious treats and fruits displayed on the way and were told to help ourselves. In the tea room we received the neck warmers and feet soakers, a nice touch! Then we were lead into our private spa hydrotherapy tub rooms. Quiet, relaxing, heaven! A wonderful massage and a fabulous facial by Kay. I felt like a new woman. The area to dry your hair was nicely equiped, only thing is.... it was in the main path from reception to tea room. Not that much of a biggie, just be sure you keep your towel or a robe on as it is a co-ed area! On the way out, they offer you a discounted skin care package based upon your skin type. I did go ahead an buy the bundle and think that the medical grade products are good and do work! Don't let the small bottle size fool you, the products go a long way and they last a long time! This place is a hidden gem! A friend of mine recommended this spa to me after visiting a few weeks prior. I called and spoke with the manager about what services were offered. He was extremely informational and really friendly. I settled on booking a Leaine Classic Warm Stone Facial. He was able to get me an appointment the next day! From the minute I walked in the door, I felt very welcome. Linda greeted me and helped me with filling out some forms since it was my first time there. She then walked me around the spa and gave me a tour, I was really impressed at how beautiful it was inside! I was given a robe and sandals to change in to. They provide lockers for all of your belongings as well. Next, I was greeted by Rosa who offered me something to drink and a foot soak prior to my facial. This was a nice surprise! After that, Virginia came to get me for my facial. She asked me a few questions about my skin and started my facial right away. She was really informative as to what she was doing during the facial portion. During the massage portion of the facial, she let me relax and continued. It was simply amazing! I felt very relaxed and really enjoyed my time with her. She made a few recommendations as to what products I could use to improve my skin in the future. Courtney checked me out. She was also very friendly and explained member pricing to me. Since it was my first time, I was given membership pricing, which was great! I'm a regular to spas, but I continue to have skin problems. After having Carly as my Esthetician at Skinsation, I don't even bother going to any other spa. She is amazing and makes me feel so comfortable. At 27, I've always been a little embarrassed about my skin, but Carly has continued to do wonders. I've never received the type of results with any other skin care line. Leaine Dehmer is the way to go. She definitely personalizes every treatment for every client. This is going to be a long review, but I have a lot to say. I wish I could give this place zero or even negative stars. Awful customer service. I have been going for 7 months trying to help calm my acne, I had been seen by 3 or 4 different estheticians; the inconsistency was the first sign of unprofessionalism I should've been seeing the same esthetician every month. My skin has gotten worse. Then there were the receptionists who were really incapable of doing their jobs. They always got my appointments wrong or I would be scheduled for the wrong type of facial. The products were pushed way too much, even after letting them know I was on a budget they still pushed the products. I fell for it the first time and spent money on product (which did nothing, more money wasted) on top of that I was already paying $110 a month for nothing. So the other day after being charged the monthly $110 I wanted to speak to a manager about adjusting/canceling my membership and getting some of my money back because I was paying way too much for horrible service and I was not planning on stepping foot in there again so I didn't want to pay $110 for a service I would not be getting. So I called once and was told the manager was "on the phone" but she would call back as soon as she was done. I waited an hour, called back again asking to speak to the manager I was then told she was still "busy" and she would call back asap. I waited until 5pm that evening, still hadn't heard anything. I called back for the THIRD time wanting to speak to a manager I was told that she would be calling the next day. I was planning on giving these people a chance but the way they kept avoiding letting me speak to the manager spoke volumes about their customer service. If I were a manager and someone was threatening to cancel a membership I would call back as soon as I could, not give my customer excuses hoping they'd just forget... I don't know what their plan was. That'd be a priority. Anyway, fast forward to 2pm the NEXT DAY. I call and ask to speak to a manager. Again. "Our computers were down last night we've been really busy she will call back within the next couple hours." I waited a couple hours. Heard nothing. I had to have my mom call because I was at work and frankly, I was done dealing with all of their bs. Apparently, my mom talked to someone who was really nice and offered to lower my membership cost. I told my mom she could use my membership if that was possible because I've been completely turned off by their service or lack thereof. Never ever going back again. Will never tell anyone to come here. Customer service is super important and they're very much lacking in that department. Update: I spoke to a woman (assuming manager) she was very nice and understanding, but I was still left feeling uncomfortable. You can't fix all of your mistakes with free services. I found out I had been paying for a service I wasn't even getting. I'm going to call and ask for my money back because it is completely unfair that I was paying $110 for a facial that is supposedly cheaper. Shady business. I'm probably only going to be offered more free services, they don't seem to understand that I don't have plans on going back there and I would much rather be refunded for all of the trouble they've put me through. Oh, and when I was speaking to her she was STILL trying to sell me product! So pushy with the products. read more

OK guys... I got my first massage ever here. My experience was amazing until about the end. But I'll start with the positives. Im a 22 year old college student who was on winter break when I went here for the first time. When I walked in, the receptionist was SO nice and sweet and welcoming. Sometimes when you go somewhere and you're young people can be a little disrespectful- so that was refreshing. Then a lady gave me a tour of the facility- which was amazing and beautiful. No one else was there at the time so it wasn't awkward walking around. I changed and sat in little area and waited for my massage. My missus came to get me and SHE WAS AMAZING!!! I think her name was Michelle? After my massage was done she waited for me to come out of the room and gave me water. Then I went and sat in back room where you sit and relax until you're ready to go. The downside is it is right next to the office. While I was sitting the owner walked into her office and left the door about halfway open so I could hear her whole conversation. This wasn't very relaxing- so I decided to leave. Since I have a favorite massage therapist, I always prebook. --Oh yeah - you get 'points' for prebooking, as well as points for the $$ you spend. The points are redeemable for services or products. (I recently bought a gift certificate for my niece with the points I had accumulated.) --Their products are great. Yes, they appear to be on the expensive side, but (to use two overused cliche's) "a little goes a long way" and "you get what you pay for." --LeAine and Kim (owner and manager respectively) are always working to make your experience as positive as possible. I have been going to skinsations regularly for 4 years, but I'm afraid I might not be going back now. They have a 24 hr cancellation policy, which I understand, but I called today to ask to reschedule for Thursday rather than today & was rudely interrupted by the receptionist stating they'd still be charging me the full price of my cancelled appt today. I understand the policy if I just cancelled, but I simply wanted to reschedule & was hoping for the tiniest bit of courtesy since I've been a regular (monthly) customer for 4 years. The receptionist didn't want to hear it, cut me off, and basically told me "tough luck". Skinsations, I loved your products & especially your facialist Carly, but your customer service has severly hurt your image. Great, you got to charge me for a facial & wax I never got, but you lost more in the long run with monthly appointments I won't be making anymore read more

Although the treatments provided by the salon were of very good quality (I particularly enjoyed the hydrotherapy bath, and the facial), I was frustrated by the poor customer service I received from the reception staff, and seemingly underhanded sales techniques. I walked in and was distractedly acknowledged by the desk staff, and given a form to fill out. After that, they seemed to forget about me, until the guy at the front desk reluctantly offered me tour, because he seemed not to know what else to do with me sitting there. He was very brusque and impersonal and seemed to just want to get me off his hands. They started off by giving me a hot neck pack and a foot soak, which was nice. Then I was led into a treatment room, where I got a delicious-smelling body scrub, showered, and then had a luxurious hydrotherapy bath. The jets on the tub were very very strong, and loud, but I seriously enjoyed that bath! I wanted to stay there forever! Then, I went back to the lounge area, where they have tea, apples, and some mixed nuts and other drinks. My massage was just ok, even though the therapist was very nice and sweet. She used a very firm touch, but at times she was massaging bony areas of my body really hard, which really hurt! The facial was the best I had ever had, and I opted to upgrade to the glycolic peel, which made a big difference. I liked how she told me which products she was using as well. What I didn't like was that after it was over, she led me outside and took a small bag of sample sized product, told me it would last me about 2 months, and then placed it at the register as if I was already going to buy it, NOT even giving me the option to choose for myself. She also didn't mention the price, which I know is an intimidation sales technique. Because I had read previous reviews, I was prepared for the upselling, but I was still put off. I would definitely have bought more product, but the manipulative sales technique turned me off, so I got the cheapest thing I could (because I actually wanted the product). The same guy that I had encountered before my treatments rung me up, and was equally unfriendly. He acted like the tip that I left wasn't good enough, and from that point on just seemed determined to get me out of there as fast as possible because I wasn't going to spend enough $$. Sooo... even though the spa treatments were lovely, I won't be going back there, simply because I can find good spa treatments elsewhere without the manipulative and disrespectful upselling. Listen, if your business is a service like a spa, you NEED to treat people like people, not just dollar signs. People go to a spa because they want to be pampered, not to be milked. read more

My facialist of the past 12 years had to retire so I had been on the hunt for a new one. I spoke to the receptionist on the phone to book a consult. I told her I am looking to replace my retiring facialist and I book facials every 6 weeks. She booked me with someone she thought would be good for me to consult with as a potential facialist. So, when I came in to meet my potential new facialist, It was weird. She never took me back to her room, she had me sit awkwardly in their hallway next to the waiting area to have this consult. I was kind of embarrassed to discuss my skin in front of people walking right between us. So, after I finished going over what my skin care needs are, she then tells me that she is actually moving out of the state in a month. So, why in the heck would she be accepting new clients? What an exasperating experience. Then, she moved me to someones room and I was now consulting with a different person. Well, at least I'm now out of the hallway! Now, this other girl comes in and I start to tell my whole story all over again, but instead of listening she had me lay down to look at my skin. At this point I get the feeling she isn't interested in actually listening to my needs as a client, but more interested in selling products as she launches into a product pitch. Skinsations is not the place to go for cumulative, honest skin care. This is a fluff spa, where you really feel pressured to purchase. My guess is they have a hard time with client retention, which is why they push product. I need to trust someone before I'm going to shell out 100 bucks for a product, and you need to at least get my makeup off before you can possibly make an accurate assessment that I NEED that product. read more

Although the facial I received was very good. I felt that I was at a Time Share presentation. My facialist was obviously getting a commission on what she sold. And being that the owners have their own product line, I imagine that they really push sales. The facialist spoke non-stop about how my products were not working for me and how theirs are so much better. Then she waited for me at the exit and gave me the "Hard Sell". Although the facial was great, I knew what was about to come when I left so I was never able to completely relax. And at the end when I said that I was not interested in purchasing any products, she looked at me with a complete look of disappointment and disgust. It was very uncomfortable for me being that it's always hard for me to say no. I would not return to this spa. And today my office is purchasing a Spa gift card for our coworker who is retiring, and when someone mentioned Skinsations I said absolutely not, unless she really likes Time Share presentations! My girlfriend had a really hard day at work, and I know she holds all of her tension in her upper and lower back. So, I started looking around for a place to take her for a surprise massage that night. I didn't think I'd be able to get an appointment anywhere, but I called Skinsations and they gave me a few different options for times we could come in. I scheduled her for the Ultimate Back Massage. The front desk staff was extremely kind and helpful. Kayla was the only one scheduled for any treatments, but they offered to let me relax in the spa while she was having her treatment. They gave us a tour of the facility (and told us that all the products were part of the owner's organic line), and showed us where we could change into unbelievably comfortable and warm robes and some slippers. There were mints, deodorant, and a few other nice little things to use when we were ready to change back into our clothes. We put all of our things in a personal locker and slipped into our robes. Then we headed for the tea room where they offer complimentary drinks and snacks. We grabbed some chocolate and tea, and then we sat back and relaxed. We were immediately brought hot packs for our necks, hot towels, and a hot foot soak. When the therapist came to get Kayla for her massage, I was showed to the nap room and offered a wonderfully comfortable seat and blanket. The ambiance in the spa is wonderful. Soft sounds and lighting provide the perfect place to relax. I wanted to pay before Kay was done with her massage so she wouldn't know how much it was, so I walked out to the front desk. I ended up talking to everyone up there for almost half an hour! They were so sweet and friendly! Then the owner personally walked me back to the nap room and got me a new neck wrap. She offered to grab me something to drink, and said she'd leave a note with Kayla's therapist to tell her to meet me in the nap room so we could have some relaxing together time when she was done. When Kayla was done with her treatment, she plopped down next to me on one of those oh-so-comfy seats looking more relaxed and happy than I'd seen her in a long time. She raved about the massage and said she felt incredible. We cuddled for awhile then changed and walked over to the vanity area full of brushes, straighteners, hair products, make up, and lotions. We walked out of there feeling incredible. I would LOVE to be able to go more often, but we're on an extremely tight budget. It was worth every penny, but unfortunately it's not something we'll be able to do very often. Even so, it was absolutely amazing, and I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

My daughter bought me a spa experience package. It was very expensive. It was my first time there. I did not feel welcomed. After my shower there was no clean towel, no clean hair brushes. I had no clue what was next, a massage, the facial?? Thus I wore the robe carrying around a towel wrap too! The receptionist was clueless, first calling me by someone else's name, then saying that I was there for something that I wasn't. She had all the clients mixed up. At the end she even wanted to charge me for something erroneously. I had to ask her to check, that there had to be a mistake. Sure enough, is she on drugs? I loved this place! Right when I walked in I was greeted by two lovely receptionist, Linda and Dayna! They made me feel extremely pampered. I had a 50 minute massage by Amanda. She did really well and worked on the specific areas needed. I took advantage of the quiet room and nap room to prepare my mind to relax and be pampered. I have to say Kaygives a better full brazilian (they call it something different here) since she's so quick!. She gives a great facial as well, but I like Rachel more for facials since she has a bit more of a harder touch, and I prefer getting the good scrub!!! But, seriously, if you need to escape and unwind, this place is a must!!!! Products are awesome, and my skin has never been clearer, the skin breather is a must have product! I have been having trouble with my skin since I was a teenager. Not acne per se but always a whitehead to deal with in the mornings. I started on LeAine Dehmer's clinical skincare and within 2 weeks my daily whitehead blossoms had dried up.
