Love the unassuming bar/restaurant. Live music, friendly staff. We had the fried pickles, they were light and crispy, the best I've had it years. We also had crawfish cakes and omg so delicious. I had the pimento cheese chicken, it was amazing with sides of garlic mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes , my southern soul was singing. Also, we had The heart attack burger, a Arkansas burger both were juicy and delicious, rounded out the meal with a Caesars salad with grilled chicken. The Skinny J's in Conway is a solid eatery--especially if they are having a drag brunch. I would definitely come back to enjoy their drag brunch any day of the week. The restaurant/bar is a nice size with a good layout and an overall fun atmosphere. I noticed on the walls they had pictures of community members & their businesses. That just further lent to the community hangout everybody knows your name kind of vibe. I attended Skinny J's with my family of 5 this past Saturday afternoon. We were seated in a good spot for the show right away & our drink orders taken. Even though the host let us know he was a waiter short for the day, he was very responsive and as attentive as he possibly could be. He remained personable even under pressure. I was pretty impressed with the service despite the staff shortage! The folks here are kind and inclusive. Skinny J's food menus have A LOT of options. There is something here for everyone. And it includes almost everything you can think of. From the brunch menu, one of the highlights is definitely the bourbon berry French toast. I am also a fan of the fried pickles appetizer. The pickles were fried perfectly. The fries and breakfast potatoes also stand out to me. Admittedly, I don't think I'd come back for the food alone though since it's mostly pub style cuisine. But as an entertainment venue that serves up food & drinks, this place is pretty cool. read more

One thing I can say from my experiences there is the service has always been consistently good! The food, not so much. It seems to be hit or miss. I've been very please with a dish one visit and disappointed with the same dish in a future visit. With the exception of brunch. 80% of the time when you come here the service and food is spot on. Sometimes they are super busy as they try to cut corners, but what I like is be kind and talk to them. They will always fix it. On Tuesdays they have a $12 steak after 5pm until supplies last. So a friend and I decided to go try it out for the first time. Due to it being Tuesday it was pretty slow but even so the waiter was super sweet and very fast! When the steaks come out they were DELICIOUS and extremely juicy! I normally do not leave below par reviews, this is not a below par review, more like helpful tips. Walking in you will notice a non stimulant environment nothing on the walls except for a few TVs. Booth's there are non. Very cold and stale. Flip side very friendly staff to greet you and edit on you. For me this place appeals more to the college freshman crowd not the educated family man and the beer menu backs it up. Take a look at attached photos. If you want beer cheap and don't care about flavor this is your spot. Food arrived, burger saved the night great flavor and juicy a bit over cooked for medium. Our server was Emily and she went above and beyond if you get to choose sit in Emily section. Me personally unsure if this place will over come the curse of the location. Food was great as usual and was served complimentary cocktails (because they were trying out new ones) which topped off our visit! Love the space and ambience. I had wings, they were the smallest ones I've ever eaten, and they tasted frozen. Kids meals are overpriced for the amount/quality of food. If you could do a Half star on here this is where I would be doing so between three and four. Sometimes the place it a solid 5 stars and then sometimes its a very mediocre 2.5 unfortunately. Lunch seems to be better than dinner for the most part for me and brunch the one time we went was acceptable. The problem with brunch was we had tried to go several times prior and just couldn't get in. Not that they were crowded and we couldn't get a table and didn't won't to wait it's that they state they open at such and such time on Sunday morning and we arrive at said time and the door is still locked with music inside going, tv's on but nobody around. Wait a few minutes nothing so we leave and go elsewhere, we did this twice and same thing before we said we'll give them one more try for brunch and wow they actually opened their doors at opening. I'm not saying all that to necessarily be to critical of them I'm just pointing out that they lost business, actual money that we spent elsewhere because we actually enjoyed brunch the one time out of the three times we went and tried it. Lunch is always spot on no matter what we order, very quick service and tasty. I recommend Skinny J's to people all the time I just hope that they get them on a good day when they are a solid 5 not a mediocre 2.5. read more

Some reviews said the prices were kind of high, and I agree to an extent, $15 for 4 tomato slices with a few shrimp is high. That said, I would order them again no questions asked just because they were good. Everything considered, I enjoyed the meal and the timeliness of the Take-out order (15 minutes). 1st time here. Great service and atmosphere. Lots of TV's, plenty of space, not as loud as you would expect from a sports bar which was nice. The food really threw me a curve here. Ordered a cheese dip.....immediate regret. Disgusting texture, very paste-like. Some of the chips were borderline stale. I orderd the Club Sandwich with Texas Toast instead of the Jalapeno bread it originally comes with and my only other option was Rye.....wtf? Anyways, so when our food came out my sandwich stood a good 5" Tall........how the hell am I gonna eat this thing. Their fries are fantastic!!! I would say for what you get, the menu is very over priced. I dunno how they came to the conclusion their club was worth $15, half that anywhere else. I'm pretty conflicted by this review, as we love the food here! However, the first time we went to Skinny J's my husband still had an out-of-state license which the waitress took to the manager to double check. No problem, but it was down hill from there. My husband was not only accused of having a fake license, but she bent it in half to show how flimsy it was. We tried to explain to her that's just how the licenses for that state is. She then said if I had mine on me she would serve us as it was "proof." A bent drivers license apparently causes all sorts of issues, as other places were then hesitant to take it as well, so he had to get a new one quickly. When we asked to speak with her again she refused to come back to our table. Our poor waitress apologized for it multiple times and was visible embarrassed. We like the food, but that always makes us hesitant to revisit or to bring out-of-state friends and family. read more

While our server Austin was awesome, the food was not as good as the pricing would suggest. The menu should reflect that the ribeye steak is served with a scoop of some sort of flavored butter. No one in our group cares to have that on their steak and it did nothing but take away from the actual flavor of the meat. A $40 steak should have been cooked perfectly and they were not. We have tried eating here 4-5 times, Food is good, but there is always some 'extra' fee/charge/supplemental menu twist which makes our bill 20-30% more than it should have been. Oh, and there were no baked potatoes either because "they aren't ready until around 5:00 p.m." ?? There was an 'UP CHARGE' for ordering off the kids menu (I was trying stick to my no carb diet), and I paid extra for swapping a side salad for fries(also an extra $2.00 more). Maybe you should change the name to Smoking J's, as FRIES and CHIPS come with everything..How about some healthier choices for sides(without charging me EXTRA) ? Wow! We were so impressed with Skinny J's! A cool, casual atmosphere, with fine dining options, makes it an easy pick for our party of five. There are multiple televisions and a bar. restaurant offers multi leveled seating. I had a club sandwich and potato spirals and the sandwich was HUGE! I'm nearly 300lbs and don't leave much left on a dinner plate, but this sandwich rocks! I only had half and brought the rest to one of our kids that had to work. It's made on Texas toast with turkey, bacon, guacamole, fried egg, and more. The fries are real potato spirals and even more perfect when dipped in a side of their chipotle ranch. I know about the ranch because my daughter ordered the chicken, bacon and ranch quesadilla and chipotle ranch was brought as a dipping sauce in a huge container that allowed her to actually dip the quesadilla into the ranch. #thoughtful My husband is doing Keto and ordered the basic garden salad. It was basic but done sooo well, packed with toppings. Each bite, even at the bottom had a wonderful mixture of toppings since they tossed it so well. He's ready to go back and try the salmon salad. We started with fried green tomatoes and they were great as they each were topped with grilled shrimp and some heavenly drizzle. Bread pudding is offered each day, but our night they offered raspberry cheesecake and it was DEVINE. I think about Skinny J's often. That's how great the place is. Plusses: During lunch hours, the place is relatively quiet (though music is piped in), the servers are attentive but not obtrusive, and the menu is extensive. It's not overly bright (I don't like fluorescent light "blaring" at me while I'm eating). The manager came by at least once to check on us and inform us of upcoming events, which I thought was a nice touch. You're sure to find something you like on the menu, and I thought the food I ordered (a reuben the first time and a shared cheeseburger the second time) was above average...better than what you could get at a chain. One time the homemade chips were a bit overly salty, but the next time they were perfect. I love that they serve a bottle of champagne with your choice of juice in a carafe for $15: that's a good deal. Minuses: There are no booths. This is sometimes a problem for me because I have sensory processing issues, but we sat at the bar, and I didn't feel overwhelmed. They allow smoking on the patio; unfortunately, the smell of cigarettes wafts in each time the door opens, not something I care for. I hope Skinny J's becomes an institution in Conway as it has in Little Rock. I hope management sees this and other reviews and adapts to the Conway scene, which is a bit different from LR. read more

A new place in town so had to try them. Overall a great experience. Our waitress knew how to work a table. She was friendly, upbeat, patient and efficient. The fries are so delicious. The environment was clean. The only thing I found disappointing was my bacon Mac and cheese. You pay a higher price for it so I would think that would mean you see and taste bacon in most of the bites but unfortunately I didn't. I think I tasted it in one bite. I'll still go back but may not get the bacon Mac and cheese. read more

Been several times and have never had a bad experience. Favorite thing is the Crawfish dip as an appetizer and the Cash Club as main dish. Service has always been fantastic.
