The food and service is wonderful. Ambiance is very laid back and comfortable. Today though my husband and I had a late lunch date simply because we wanted some close to home cooking foods ( also the salad bar is really amazing ). Service, and food were still great but when it was time to leave we almost always in every eatery we go to take our leftover drink. Not today because now they want to charge $1 extra to take it with us. What?? Didn't we pay for the meal and drink already? Needless to say they poured the tea out instead of us taking it home which seems a waste instead of encouraging please come see us again. Just saying! My husband loves the buffet. It's loaded with anything a southern guy could want to eat. He always enjoys the liver and onions. I generally get the grilled chicken dinner with a baked potato. These specials are to die for. $7 for a meat and potato...choice of baked or sweet plus a dessert or hour choice. You can't beat it. And it's cooked to perfection. Hamburger steak and grilled teriyaki chicken are my faves! You get points and it adds up to a free meal. The customer service is excellent. We call in order and the food is ready within 15 minutes. I had an Eye doctor appointment in Little Rock Ar. Me, and my sister wanted a sit down to dine in place. We stopped here on our way back. At first, we figure that we had made a mistake because our hosted was kind of rude. but as we had got our food and sit down to eat. she seen to lighten up. The food was delicious. Went in for a birthday and belated Father's Day Dinner. They let a non service in who crapped a pile on the dinning floor where people were eating. The owners left leaving staff to clean up. The men's restroom was Horrible with crap everywhere. Needless to say my party had not eaten. When asked for money back we were told the owner said no and offered a gift card. When asked for the owner , the owner met us with resistance. When we said we would leave a review online he said,"Take my picture." We got are money back but will never return. read more

We had a Birthday party there the other day, the food was good even the service was great, however, some people said they would not be back. The employee Wearing the Trump 2024 cap turned them off. Please not in the workplace. Support whomever you want but it should not be displayed in the workplace like part of a uniform. There was a little traffic flow problem. We sat in the room on the right side of the building. The line to pay is in the middle of the building. The buffet and another dining room was on the left side. So each time we went from our table to the buffet, we had to walk through the line of people paying, then again to go back to our table. Lesson learned! Sit on the left side. The food was what we expected. Stopped for lunch at this Barnhill. As mentioned below, the facilities are a bit dated and in need of modernization. It is a former Western Sizzlin with many years of use. The food was anything but bland. We found everything well seasoned with salt, pepper and other spices and flavors as needed. The fried fish was tasty as was the pulled BBQ. We found fried fish, fried and baked chicken, pork chops, pulled BBQ and diced sausage. The vegetables well all nice - cabbage, corn, greens, white beans, black eyed peas and sweet potatoes. Baked potato on request. The noon wait staff are all nice and very helpful. Senior citizen (55+) buffet as $7.50 or so. We'll be back, likely for Sunday dinner, and will compare experiences. For those wanting a larger buffet, Golden Corral is ten miles south and costs twice as much for twice the choices. We and the steady stream of locals find Barnhill to provide good food and good value. read more

Today was one of the worst meals I've had at Barnhill's. I ordered my sirloin tips with onions; it actually came well done with some pieces very burnt. Even the toast was over cooked. My husband got the buffet and it seem all the food has been overcooked to the point that it just wasn't very good. This was Sunday lunch at around 1 :00 and it wasn't overcrowded. Seems like the server would have noticed that this was an overcooked plate and sent it back. It may be a long time before we go back pay over $35 for 2 people to eat. read more

The floors were sticky with food, there were 6 dead flies in the window where I sat. The table was sticky, the food trays were still soaking wet, my silverware was stained. The buffet was a mess. As if someone used the same tongs and spoon to rummage through different items on the bar. My server only stopped by once to ask if I needed a drink refill. Other empty tables were piled with dirty dishes. The desserts were probably from Sam's Club or Sysco, they weren't fresh made in house. Some of the staff looked as if they hadn't washed their clothes in days. I NEVER write reviews, but I feel like I had to today after visiting this restaurant. I'm not sure when the health department last did an inspection, but today they would have failed. Maybe I came in on an unusual day?
