Great place to stop for lunch! We are passing through town and wanted to find somewhere local. This restaurant has authentic food, a clean, cozy atmosphere, and very friendly staff. I loved the shrimp and grits, and dad loved the gumbo. Very reasonable prices as well!

Stopped for lunch on a Wednesday while in Little Rock on appointments. Can't wait to get back. Immediately grabbed an open seat at the bar and enjoyed a local draft beer. A cup of gumbo came with a bread roll for sopping up all that great flavor with a decent mix of shrimp, sausage and okra. Followed the gumbo with a small creole soaked salad that was absolutely delicious with the green olives. For lunch it was shrimp and grits. Fantastic flavor and spice that's not for the lighter taste buds. This was probably the best shrimp and grits I've had from Savanna to New Orleans and up and down the gulf. I really enjoyed the flavor and the crunch from the grit cakes added a new dimension.

Fried Oyster Po-Boy

I've been to N'rleans, had po boys in plenty of whole in the walls, and this fried oyster po boy meets the criterion for creole goodness. The bread was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fried oysters were perfectly seasoned. The pickles were delicious, but the star of the show was the remolaude - I ordered a side and it was awesome to add more to the sandwich and the fries. My son had the ragin Cajun burger, I had a bite, and wanted more! We also had the red beans and rice, and while I felt it lacked salt, the rest of table enjoyed it. Service was solid, waitress was kind and efficient. As a visitor to Little Rock, I didn't expect to have creole this delicious!

New Orleans Approved!…read more As New Orleanians and self-proclaimed foodies, my wife and I have pretty discerning palates when it comes to seafood. While visiting Little Rock, the technician who was doing my wife's pedicure recommended her brother's restaurant, The Oyster Bar. We already had reservations elsewhere, but after looking at The Oyster Bar's menu, we canceled our original plans--and we're glad we did. Food (10/10) Hush Puppies (10/10): Quite possibly the best hush puppies I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, with jalapeños that added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavor. Crab Claws (10/10): Outstanding. They reminded me of a favorite dish from Copeland's back home in New Orleans--hot, buttery, flavorful and served in a generous portion. Seafood Combo (10/10): Fried Oysters (10/10): Perfectly fried with a crisp exterior and a creamy interior. Well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Cheese Grits (9/10): Rich, creamy and cheesy. We paired them with the shrimp scampi and essentially created our own version of shrimp and grits. Shrimp Scampi (8/10): The shrimp were plump, juicy and cooked well, though I would've enjoyed a bit more seasoning. Crab Cake (10/10): The standout of the meal. This crab cake was towering, packed with what seemed like 99% crab meat and full of flavor. The seafood combo is a great value. Chocolate Cheesecake (9/10): Smooth, creamy and chocolatey. Cheesecake isn't usually our first dessert choice, but we're chocolate lovers, and this one definitely delivered. Piña Colada Mocktail (9/10): Sweet, smooth, refreshing and loaded with pineapple flavor. Exactly what I look for in a tropical mocktail. Service (9/10) Our server, Tallon, was friendly, attentive and genuinely hospitable. She was efficient, checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It's always refreshing to have a server who doesn't disappear after the food arrives. Ambiance (8/10) The atmosphere is casual, bright and airy with a comfortable noise level that makes conversation easy. If a couple from New Orleans--where great seafood is practically a birthright--can enthusiastically recommend The Oyster Bar, that's saying something. We'd happily return the next time we're in Little Rock.

Located a short drive from downtown Little Rock, the oyster bar is in a cool strip of bars and restaurant on west Markham street. My dad has raved both their Rockefeller oysters, so we had to make a pit stop. Lively, two open dining areas, central bar area, and a well lit patio makes for a good sized restaurant for any occasion. We just missed the oyster happy hour, but that's more reason to come back for more! Our oysters were good sized and stuffed full of spinach, cheese and breadcrumbs. Drinks were great as well. We walked in at 5:30 and by 7:30, there was a waitlist, live music and some big groups dining in. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the mood for oysters, the Oyster Bar didn't disappoint!

Unfortunately, my experience was EXTREMELY subpar. There were only THREE menu items available and were extremely overpriced for the ingredients used as well as the quality and portion size. I only had $20 in cash on me, because by the way, they're mostly cash only, so the only thing I could order was the " hood noodles". That honestly should've been my red flag right there, but I wanted to support a local black business. Not only was the owner or the food truck manager, extremely RUDE and DISMISSIVE to concerns I had about my order accuracy (at the time of ordering), but the wait time was 25 minutes for some REHEATED Ramen noodles, jar Alfredo sauce, overcooked shrimp WITH the shell on, and OVERLY salted and seasoned food. I'm someone who loves flavor, but that plate was walking hypertension. Also, eggs were supposed to come with my order, and there was none in sight. The most edible thing on the plate was the sausage and that was after all the excess seasoning was washed off. I'm not one to trash small businesses, but even the presentation of the truck was underwhelming and concerning. Handwritten and torn up menu signs and NOT the cleanliest either. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this food truck, or the actual restaurant business in Little Rock to anyone. Even though the owner specializes in "hood meals ", I don't think quality has to suffer. My friend and I who came to try the business out, ended up throwing our entire plate away and wasted $20.

The food and service were incredibly underwhelming. I was elated to support and Black Owned…read moreBusiness. However, the experience was terrible. I was disappointed

We dined at this location on July 22, 2026. Making a reservation for 2 was fairly easy and once we arrived there was ample parking. We were seated on the patio with a beautiful view of the pond they have. I am very happy we were seated where we were because it was just perfect for the type of night I was in search for. Upon getting walked to our seat, we saw people in Christmas/Holiday attire. Walking in and out of the bar. I asked the hostess if there was an event and she told me they do a Christmas in July event that is always a hit! That was absolutely freaking awesome!! There was a bar room inside the restaurant that was decked out in Christmas decorations and I told my friend that after dinner I needed to check that bar out! Our server was amazing and incredibly accommodating. I am a vegetarian and I waa very happy with the amount of options I had to pick from!! My friend and I split the Strawberry and Goat cheese salad and oh boy that was delicious! Definitely a memorable salad because it is now October and I am still thinking about it. I got the Yonder Burger with mo pickles or tomatoes and it was so good!! The cocktails I ordered were Something about Terry but asked for a shot of Vodka in it because that one is on the cocktails section of the menu. I also got a few other cocktails I can't recall their names but they were all delicious. At the middle of our meal I think it was the manager or owner, he came over to us dressed in holiday decor and checked in on us. I took the opportunity to rave about the service, drinks, food, and ask him more about the Christmas in July stuff they have going on. He was marvelous and answered all the questions! If you're ever looking for an occasion to celebrate and have an amazing experience in Arkansas with great service, food, and drinks, Cypress Social is the location to check out!!
