PoBoy and gumbo lunch special
J Warren R.

I was looking forward to a return engagement at Maddie's. They did not disappoint. The lunch specials run $15 and include several options. I chose the fried crawfish poboy and gumbo. Fresh, hot, tasty -- they hit the spot. Bottomless freshly brewed Ice Tea. Our server was friendly, efficient and helpful, despite the restaurant being nearly full with the lunch crowd. This will be my go to place next time I'm in Little Rock Its a casual place, well run and comfortable. No pretense. Just good food. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Fried chicken breast

Alligator was the bomb! As well as the fried chicken breast and grits! Service was great! As well as the atmosphere

This restaurant is located just a few miles outside of downtown Little Rock in a trendy little area. I actually rode a scooter from downtown to here. Parking here is simple. You will find a lot across the street with a few spaces. There is also some street parking within a reasonable walking distance. They have a small dining area with tables and bar seating. The place is dimly lit and somewhat intimate. They also have a small patio area out front, that you have to access through the restaurant. The patio has shades to block the sun and is pet friendly. We were seated immediately, but people after us had to wait a bit to be seated. The staff there was very nice. My server was cool. She was a bit slow and not as attentive as I would expect though. They have a wide range of beers and a few signature cocktails. The menu of full of Southern favorites such as grilled shrimp po-boys, fried catfish, andouille sausage po-boy and bread pudding. I was in heaven. I ordered the fried alligator bites with a side of fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was pretty good. I would definitely eat it again. I got a Pink Cadillac cocktail to wash my meal down. It was very savory and sweet, just like I like it. There are not many cajun restaurants in Little Rock. This one of the few. I like this restaurant. This is where the locals go. It has a cool vibe and I enjoyed my meal. I recommend checking this place out.

The food is soooo good! The only disappointing dish I've had was the pasta. Bummer because I love pasta but the crawfish pasta I had tasted sour :( They swapped it out for shrimp pasta for me, and it was still sour. Maybe it was the sauce, I dunno. That won't keep me away though! The shrimp and cheddar grits is AMAZING. Lump crab dip? AMAZING. Salmon? AMAZING. Chicken? AMAZING. Service? AMAZING. Down-home vibe to it. Nothing fancy but it's very comfortable and a great place to lounge. Love Maddie's Place!

New Orleans Approved!…read more As New Orleanians and self-proclaimed foodies, my wife and I have pretty discerning palates when it comes to seafood. While visiting Little Rock, the technician who was doing my wife's pedicure recommended her brother's restaurant, The Oyster Bar. We already had reservations elsewhere, but after looking at The Oyster Bar's menu, we canceled our original plans--and we're glad we did. Food (10/10) Hush Puppies (10/10): Quite possibly the best hush puppies I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, with jalapeños that added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavor. Crab Claws (10/10): Outstanding. They reminded me of a favorite dish from Copeland's back home in New Orleans--hot, buttery, flavorful and served in a generous portion. Seafood Combo (10/10): Fried Oysters (10/10): Perfectly fried with a crisp exterior and a creamy interior. Well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Cheese Grits (9/10): Rich, creamy and cheesy. We paired them with the shrimp scampi and essentially created our own version of shrimp and grits. Shrimp Scampi (8/10): The shrimp were plump, juicy and cooked well, though I would've enjoyed a bit more seasoning. Crab Cake (10/10): The standout of the meal. This crab cake was towering, packed with what seemed like 99% crab meat and full of flavor. The seafood combo is a great value. Chocolate Cheesecake (9/10): Smooth, creamy and chocolatey. Cheesecake isn't usually our first dessert choice, but we're chocolate lovers, and this one definitely delivered. Piña Colada Mocktail (9/10): Sweet, smooth, refreshing and loaded with pineapple flavor. Exactly what I look for in a tropical mocktail. Service (9/10) Our server, Tallon, was friendly, attentive and genuinely hospitable. She was efficient, checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It's always refreshing to have a server who doesn't disappear after the food arrives. Ambiance (8/10) The atmosphere is casual, bright and airy with a comfortable noise level that makes conversation easy. If a couple from New Orleans--where great seafood is practically a birthright--can enthusiastically recommend The Oyster Bar, that's saying something. We'd happily return the next time we're in Little Rock.

Located a short drive from downtown Little Rock, the oyster bar is in a cool strip of bars and restaurant on west Markham street. My dad has raved both their Rockefeller oysters, so we had to make a pit stop. Lively, two open dining areas, central bar area, and a well lit patio makes for a good sized restaurant for any occasion. We just missed the oyster happy hour, but that's more reason to come back for more! Our oysters were good sized and stuffed full of spinach, cheese and breadcrumbs. Drinks were great as well. We walked in at 5:30 and by 7:30, there was a waitlist, live music and some big groups dining in. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the mood for oysters, the Oyster Bar didn't disappoint!

Unfortunately, my experience was EXTREMELY subpar. There were only THREE menu items available and were extremely overpriced for the ingredients used as well as the quality and portion size. I only had $20 in cash on me, because by the way, they're mostly cash only, so the only thing I could order was the " hood noodles". That honestly should've been my red flag right there, but I wanted to support a local black business. Not only was the owner or the food truck manager, extremely RUDE and DISMISSIVE to concerns I had about my order accuracy (at the time of ordering), but the wait time was 25 minutes for some REHEATED Ramen noodles, jar Alfredo sauce, overcooked shrimp WITH the shell on, and OVERLY salted and seasoned food. I'm someone who loves flavor, but that plate was walking hypertension. Also, eggs were supposed to come with my order, and there was none in sight. The most edible thing on the plate was the sausage and that was after all the excess seasoning was washed off. I'm not one to trash small businesses, but even the presentation of the truck was underwhelming and concerning. Handwritten and torn up menu signs and NOT the cleanliest either. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this food truck, or the actual restaurant business in Little Rock to anyone. Even though the owner specializes in "hood meals ", I don't think quality has to suffer. My friend and I who came to try the business out, ended up throwing our entire plate away and wasted $20.

The food and service were incredibly underwhelming. I was elated to support and Black Owned…read moreBusiness. However, the experience was terrible. I was disappointed

I was doing a cross country roadtrip and wanted to take my friend out to a nice place…read more We were in Arkansas, a state I am very not familiar with and upon Google and Yelp searches I opted to check out Cypress Social. We dined at this location on July 22, 2026. Making a reservation for 2 was fairly easy and once we arrived there was ample parking. We were seated on the patio with a beautiful view of the pond they have. I am very happy we were seated where we were because it was just perfect for the type of night I was in search for. Upon getting walked to our seat, we saw people in Christmas/Holiday attire. Walking in and out of the bar. I asked the hostess if there was an event and she told me they do a Christmas in July event that is always a hit! That was absolutely freaking awesome!! There was a bar room inside the restaurant that was decked out in Christmas decorations and I told my friend that after dinner I needed to check that bar out! Our server was amazing and incredibly accommodating. I am a vegetarian and I waa very happy with the amount of options I had to pick from!! My friend and I split the Strawberry and Goat cheese salad and oh boy that was delicious! Definitely a memorable salad because it is now October and I am still thinking about it. I got the Yonder Burger with mo pickles or tomatoes and it was so good!! The cocktails I ordered were Something about Terry but asked for a shot of Vodka in it because that one is on the cocktails section of the menu. I also got a few other cocktails I can't recall their names but they were all delicious. At the middle of our meal I think it was the manager or owner, he came over to us dressed in holiday decor and checked in on us. I took the opportunity to rave about the service, drinks, food, and ask him more about the Christmas in July stuff they have going on. He was marvelous and answered all the questions! If you're ever looking for an occasion to celebrate and have an amazing experience in Arkansas with great service, food, and drinks, Cypress Social is the location to check out!!
