Made a reservation for a large group one evening. Eat my Catfish was a great choice. The food was wonderful, plentiful, hot, tasty and a large selection for a variety of tastes. From children's chicken tenders, to fresh farmed catfish, they do it all very well. The gumbo was exceptional. Catfish was light and flaky. Service was over the top exceptional. Devonte and Christian took care of us like we were the only customers, delivering the food promptly, with a large smile, refilling drinks, cleaning up, whatever we needed. They went above and beyond to make our little family gathering a good memory. So when you have a hankering for a great Southern meal at reasonable prices, with employees who care, this is your place.

When in Arkansas... you eat catfish, and I was looking forward to it! Eat my catfish is a locally owned restaurant with several locations across the state that originated with a guy selling out of his truck in Benton about 15 years ago. In my efforts to avoid a family potluck and make it easy to focus on visiting, I landed here. While placing my order I noticed that the NLR location had a 10% off check in offer, but we were meeting in LR. So I called the Rodney Parham store and Chris, the store manager, hooked it up and made sure it was all ready for me when I got there. The store had recently reopened after the major tornado damage from a year prior that wiped out much of the area and was bustling with people. I ordered fried green tomatoes, 2 Ultimate Family Packs (10 pieces U.S. farm-raised catfish, 4 fresh, free-range Arkansas chicken tenders, served with 3 large regular sides and 10 hushpuppies), and a Chicken Family Pack (10 fresh, free-range Arkansas chicken tenders, served with 2 large sides). Our sides were mac n cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, and okra. It came with lemons, hot sauce, ketchup, tartar sauce & honey mustard. Everyone dug in and raved about the selections. My 98 year old gramma was pleased and so happy to have three generations all together again for the first time in 5 years. Thank you EMC - Mission accomplished! If I were to offer any suggestions, it would be to expand the dessert selection to include pie (peach, cherry, pecan, rhubarb), cake, and banana pudding.

Crawfish 4 lbs

Lynn is a doll, this was our first time here and she made great suggestions. We got 4 pounds of crawfish. We have been trying different places crawfish the last few weeks. Hands down best crawfish yet. Great spice level, cooked perfectly and BIG. We also got fried pickles as well and I have to say 10/10. Love it. Will be back

Catfish, hush puppies, and fries

While stopping in Arkansas during a road trip I tried out Eat My Catfish. I was intrigued by their name and was in the mood for seafood. I used the online ordering system about an hour before they closed and the food was ready in about 25 minutes. I ordered the 2 piece catfish (extra piece included ) which comes with two sides and hush puppies. You also can get up to 4 sauces/condiments with the combo. I got tarter sauce which had a little spice to it and tasted amazing, hot sauce, and lemons. The catfish was cooked perfectly. The breading had a nice crunch and the inside was flaky and warm. I enjoyed it with both tarter sauce and hot sauce after squeezing lemons over top of the fish. The hush puppies were so good and full of flavor. I wanted more than the two that came with the meal but now I know to order a few extra next time. The fries were good and I enjoyed the seasoning. This is definitely a spot to come to when you're craving good seafood.

Way overpriced for what you get. Overcooked shrimp and crab legs. Lame sides. Skip it!

This time around I asked the girl at the counter what her favorite dish was and she said, "shrimp kabobs." I was sold. SO GLAD I LISTENED!!!! These are THE most flavorful kabobs I've ever had, and they are accompanied by some of the best rice and beans I've ever had. I was fully expecting beans and rice Mexican-style since the place is owned-operated by mi gente, but it was a more Cajun-style brand and rice. These beans and rice are so damn good. I just can't. These kabobs are perfectly seasoned with fresh lemons, tomatoes, onions, and zucchini. It's is CLEAR they make these to order, so when you get it expect a wait...that will be well worth it. Yeah, I take back my last review. You don't come to a place like this in central Arkansas and order oysters. That was dumb. This, however, is the best decision I've made this trip. Hands down.

Eight years since my last visit to Little Rock, and The Flying Fish was at the top of my list. Some…read moreplaces you wonder if it will still be the same. Flying Fish hasn't missed a beat. The setup tells you everything you need to know before eating: paper towel roll on the table, hot sauce lineup, Lance saltines, and a soundtrack of Lightin' Hopkins and Son House fill the room. The chairs look like they escaped from a 1950s diner and that's how everyone likes it. The catfish is the real deal -- cornmeal-crusted, perfectly seasoned, tender inside with just the right snap on the outside. The shrimp are butterflied, large, perfectly breaded, and fried with the same care. Hush puppies that are neither greasy nor dense, which sounds simple until you realize how rarely anyone gets it right. There's a New Orleans soul to this place, and some Memphis too, but nothing precious about it. No one here is performing. Farmers, families, folks still in their work clothes. The people who cook this food grew up eating it every Sunday at grandma's table, and it shows in every basket. If mudbugs are still on the menu when you visit, don't overthink it. Order them. The Flying Fish isn't trying to be anything. That's exactly why it's everything.

The fried okra appeared to be whole baby okra. I have never had it prepared that way and found it to be very pleasing to the palate. The mustard greens were equally delicious. The service was slightly disappointing, which led to a four star rather than five star rating from me. The restroom is on one corner of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were seated in the farthest corner from that restroom. It's a fairly large building with multiple rooms. Going forward, I will ask to be seated closer to the restroom. My mother has dementia and the distance to the restroom made things a little difficult for us. It might be also be difficult with small children.

Located a short drive from downtown Little Rock, the oyster bar is in a cool strip of bars and restaurant on west Markham street. My dad has raved both their Rockefeller oysters, so we had to make a pit stop. Lively, two open dining areas, central bar area, and a well lit patio makes for a good sized restaurant for any occasion. We just missed the oyster happy hour, but that's more reason to come back for more! Our oysters were good sized and stuffed full of spinach, cheese and breadcrumbs. Drinks were great as well. We walked in at 5:30 and by 7:30, there was a waitlist, live music and some big groups dining in. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the mood for oysters, the Oyster Bar didn't disappoint!

Unfortunately, my experience was EXTREMELY subpar. There were only THREE menu items available and were extremely overpriced for the ingredients used as well as the quality and portion size. I only had $20 in cash on me, because by the way, they're mostly cash only, so the only thing I could order was the " hood noodles". That honestly should've been my red flag right there, but I wanted to support a local black business. Not only was the owner or the food truck manager, extremely RUDE and DISMISSIVE to concerns I had about my order accuracy (at the time of ordering), but the wait time was 25 minutes for some REHEATED Ramen noodles, jar Alfredo sauce, overcooked shrimp WITH the shell on, and OVERLY salted and seasoned food. I'm someone who loves flavor, but that plate was walking hypertension. Also, eggs were supposed to come with my order, and there was none in sight. The most edible thing on the plate was the sausage and that was after all the excess seasoning was washed off. I'm not one to trash small businesses, but even the presentation of the truck was underwhelming and concerning. Handwritten and torn up menu signs and NOT the cleanliest either. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this food truck, or the actual restaurant business in Little Rock to anyone. Even though the owner specializes in "hood meals ", I don't think quality has to suffer. My friend and I who came to try the business out, ended up throwing our entire plate away and wasted $20.
