Eat my catfish is a locally owned restaurant with several locations across the state that originated with a guy selling out of his truck in Benton about 15 years ago. In my efforts to avoid a family potluck and make it easy to focus on visiting, I landed here. While placing my order I noticed that the NLR location had a 10% off check in offer, but we were meeting in LR. So I called the Rodney Parham store and Chris, the store manager, hooked it up and made sure it was all ready for me when I got there. The store had recently reopened after the major tornado damage from a year prior that wiped out much of the area and was bustling with people. I ordered fried green tomatoes, 2 Ultimate Family Packs (10 pieces U.S. farm-raised catfish, 4 fresh, free-range Arkansas chicken tenders, served with 3 large regular sides and 10 hushpuppies), and a Chicken Family Pack (10 fresh, free-range Arkansas chicken tenders, served with 2 large sides). Our sides were mac n cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, and okra. It came with lemons, hot sauce, ketchup, tartar sauce & honey mustard. Everyone dug in and raved about the selections. My 98 year old gramma was pleased and so happy to have three generations all together again for the first time in 5 years. Thank you EMC - Mission accomplished! My family and I have eaten at this restaurant many times. However, today was our first negative experience due to nothing being available in the eating area such as lemons, cocktail sauce, silverware, etc. Had to go to the counter numerous times asking for condiments and utensils that were not stocked. Manager blamed it on a labor issue. But this was 4 pm and there were 6-8 employees standing around. You may want to avoid this restaurant until they get their labor issues resolved. read more

While stopping in Arkansas during a road trip I tried out Eat My Catfish. I was intrigued by their name and was in the mood for seafood. I used the online ordering system about an hour before they closed and the food was ready in about 25 minutes. I ordered the 2 piece catfish (extra piece included ) which comes with two sides and hush puppies. You also can get up to 4 sauces/condiments with the combo. I got tarter sauce which had a little spice to it and tasted amazing, hot sauce, and lemons. The catfish was cooked perfectly. The breading had a nice crunch and the inside was flaky and warm. I enjoyed it with both tarter sauce and hot sauce after squeezing lemons over top of the fish. The hush puppies were so good and full of flavor. I wanted more than the two that came with the meal but now I know to order a few extra next time. The fries were good and I enjoyed the seasoning. I went 3/21 around 6:30 or so. It's hard to remember the Carly what time because I waited over an hour for my food. In this time I witnessed a fight between what I guess was two managers - a shorter lady and a man. The lady kept telling the other one to leave, he refused, and then she started yelling something about no respect and she was quitring and walked out. You could tell the crew was flabbergasted. My one star review is specifically for these managers. The staff was great and kept working under all this pressure and held it together. the food was good even though it took forever. This company needs better leadership though. That was ridiculous. The gumbo was very disappointing, as it was like warm and the rice was undercooked. Don't order the gumbo from here. The Oyster Bar makes good gumbo. We like the ambience since the tornado. The catfish filets were very small so maybe that's why they gave me 3 when I ordered 2. Thanks for that. The main reason for a lower score is the lack of tartar sauce. There was a pink condiment labeled "tartar sauce" on the self serve pump thing, but it was closer to Remoulade than tartar sauce. It really truly was not tartar sauce, and if you're going to call your place "Eat My Catfish" then you need to have the right stuff with it. I just moved to Arkansas, but I've visited in the past. This was the one place I've always liked because of their garlic fries. We dined here on a Friday night, and sadly they were out of garlic so no garlic fries this time. No biggie. I ordered the 8 piece fried shrimp dinner with Mac and cheese and regular fries. My meal was good. Some fries were undercooked but still good. I love their tartar sauce bc it has a Cajun-y taste to it. My main issue is that someone in my group ordered the po boy with fries. It came without the fries. The food runner said he put in an order for fries and that it would come out soon. It never came out. Ever. We sat and sat, and he just completely forgot about it haha. At that point it was the end of the meal and pointless. Also the po boy doesn't come with lettuce and tomato? Didn't know that. I thought it did, and maybe I'm wrong, but he just received basically the fried shrimp and the bread. Haha. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town. I loved it so that they were the caterer for my wedding reception. Sadly, it has changed over the years. On my past three visits, I felt like I gave them a donation. The portion size didn't equate to the price. They charge a dollar extra for fried okra and it was like a kid size portion. I understand it's a hard time for restaurants due to inflation, and I don't mind paying a higher price if the food is good. But I won't be paying close to $40 for a $25 portion size. read more

I am not from Arkansas actually from Houston Texas but this is so far the best place we have visited this trip. We tried the food in one of there locations located in North Little Rock. So glad we went. Had such a fun time shelling and eating. Wish I could go back again. You order thru a line and pay at the register and they give you a number to bring to your table.
