The plate and the receipt

I write this review very disheartened because my own can be quite trifling and disappointing! Starters; you can not have bad service and poor quality food! The server in the drive-thru window had the worst attitude with a bonnet on. Poor presentation for a food establishment. Moreover, It took 20 minutes to get service with one car in front of me then she took my order with no eye contact or verification of order taken and poor verbal skills. The order was incorrect, overcharged, and poorly presented enough not to eat it. Never again!!! Sooo disheartened:(

I must say that things seem to improve at this local restaurant since the last time I came here. The food taste much better than before and the employees are friendly as always. The owner even came out to spoke and see if everything okay. I will be returning here and will once again recommend people to come here to eat some of the best soul food in town!!

The greens were from a can and not seasoned and the macaroni and cheese was dry and very little season. The fish was OK.

The food use to be really good....it's just so-so now. The cost is to high for the portions they give out.

My wife also had a couple of cocktails and a few glasses of wine. There was a lot that we enjoyed. The oysters and scallops were fantastic, and both desserts were excellent. The bread and butter were also very good. My wife thought the wine selection was excellent as well. Unfortunately, there were a few things that kept the experience from being as good as it could have been. The biggest disappointment was the duck breast. The flavor was good, but the fat wasn't rendered properly and the skin wasn't crispy. The result was a chewy, rubbery texture that made the dish difficult to enjoy. My wife's walleye was cooked well, but the blueberry sauce was so strong that it overwhelmed much of the fish's flavor. The cocktails were okay--certainly drinkable, but not a standout. We also found a plastic bread bag tie in my wife's salad. We pointed it out to our waiter, who removed it from the table, but there was no apology, explanation, replacement salad, or any acknowledgment beyond taking it away. Finding a foreign object in your food is unfortunate; having it essentially ignored was disappointing. One other thing we noticed was that the sides felt like an afterthought. Both entrées came with the same carrots and Brussels sprouts. They were fine, but nothing particularly memorable, and serving the exact same sides with very different dishes made the entrées feel less thoughtfully composed. The service was generally good, although somewhat slow. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but he also didn't seem especially familiar with the menu at times. Overall, this was a mixed experience, especially with a price tag north of $300. The appetizers, desserts, and wine were the highlights of the evening. There were moments where the meal was genuinely excellent, but the issues with both entrées, the uninspired sides, and the lack of response to finding a bread tie in the salad kept it from feeling like the special anniversary dinner we had hoped for.

The shrimp and grits definitely lived up to its hype! I ordered the half order of shrimp and grits, the grits were perfectly made and also came with six of the most juiciest shrimps. The only thing that I would change about this dish is to either make it slightly cheaper, because it was pretty pricey for the small amount of food that you get, or there should be a little bit more grits. Other than that, the meal was great. The waitress that I had was very attentive and professional, she helped me with everything that I needed and was timely when it came to placing the order and serving food. The restaurant is in an easily located place with complimentary parking right across the street.

Fresh, hot, tasty -- they hit the spot. Bottomless freshly brewed Ice Tea. Our server was friendly, efficient and helpful, despite the restaurant being nearly full with the lunch crowd. This will be my go to place next time I'm in Little Rock Its a casual place, well run and comfortable. No pretense. Just good food. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

It was my colleague that commented about their lack of response, before I even mentioned it. When the server arrived, we told him of the "concerns" and he tried to resolve "they were new, blah blah" and while I was ready to leave, opted to give him a chance to change my perspective. We ordered a couple of appetizers and drinks. The drinks were good, the appetizers were good enough. We had the Surf and Turf Queso and Fried Green Tomatoes (very tasty). We decided to end the visit, pay the check and have dinner at another restaurant. I applaud the server for seemingly going to make the hostess/host aware (we saw him talking to them just after we informed him), but I just couldn't shake the experience. When we left, they both gave a warm "have a nice day" - just would have been better feeling the sentiment at the start of the visit. The host/hostess set the tone for your establishment. Make sure that they understand!

The interior is welcoming with long wooden tables and benches. Our kids enjoyed playing some of the free games offered. Our server was very attentive and friendly. When you walk inside, it's a bit of a rustic brewery feel. We were seated by the host and we happened to be there on a day they were serving brunch. Unfortunately, our experience was impacted by a large family with several kids which were seated at the same communal table that wasn't big enough to hold the family, which made the experience feel more crowded and distracting than we would have preferred. I ordered the love honey bock which was a full bodied beer flavored with Arkansas honey and was very good. As for the food, I ordered the brisket hash which was extremely dry and had to drown the brisket in salsa to finish it. If I'm in the area I would stop in for beer but would probably pass on brunch.
