Ordered a RibEye steak in San Bernardino. Received a very dry and tough Sirloin instead. No marbling at all. I asked to speak to the chef to explain why a Sirloin was substituted for a $30+ Ribeye. But the chef could not speak English. So I ended up sharing my wife's undercooked Prime Rib for my birthday dinner. Better to go next door to Claim Jumper. Food was amazing. Ribeye was cooked perfect medium rare and hot on plate. Service was punctual and polite. Owner came out to chat and make sure food was correct and enjoyed. Atmosphere reminds me of a old mom pop hole in wall with a warm country kitchen feeling. Will for sure be back for a yummy steak again. Landed at Black Angus on a whim. We were headed to Burger King for a quick lunch during work. The line was wrapped around the building so we drove a little and stumbled on Black Angus. We placed our orders at the drive thru and the staff was very friendly. However it took a little longer than I would have expected to receive our order. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and was sadly dissapointed when unwrapping it. The bun dwarfed the small patty of thin meat and the krinkle cut fries were mediocre at best. Everything tasted fine but for nearly $10 I dont think I will be returning. I fully support small local business as much as possible, but this was a bit of a let down for the price paid. Great burgers, love the crinkle cut fries. Had the bbq plate the other day since they were out of shepherds pie. The chicken was fall off the bone, moist and tender. The pork was also good. This is one of my favorite restaurants. It has good old fashioned cooked Hamburgers and amazing crinkle fries. I really enjoy the chicken breast dinner with a small salad and baked potato. It has many other options from chili cheese fries to chocolate malts to delicious steaks. The staff makes you feel right at home. The environment isn't fancy or totally up to date, but you feel comfortable inside. read more

A long, long time ago...they were on Van Buren Street at Markham and featured burgers almost exclusively. They have since moved west and expanded their menu. They have a very broad range of choices centered on cooked beef. Steaks and burgers are the forte with backup from good soups and sides. My chicken dumpling soup was outstanding...it reminded me of my grandmas with freshly stewed chicken and thick flat noodles. The chopped steak sandwich, #10, was very tasty and well presented. The meat was a little dry but overall, the sandwich was good. Order at the counter from an easy to read menu wall mounted menu, pay up, take your order number and wait briefly while they get your food together. Atmosphere is very basic...no frills, clean and neat. Staff is friendly, polite and busy. Parking is adequate. Menu is diverse, but mostly cooked meat. Relaxed, casual situation. This is a good place to have a quick meal of above average, reasonably priced American style food...fast but not "fast food". Reasonably priced and decently prepared...be sure and check out their fresh soups. read more

Finally, after they moved back to Markham, I decided to give it a shot. Today was my second visit (different orders each time). I do not understand the appeal. Both times, it was probably the worst restaurant food I have ever eaten. I do not plan to ever eat there again and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I used to eat at the SW Little Rock location many years ago. Way back then you could eat at Minute Man or Black Angus as their burgers were very similar. I did like the fries at BA much better & I loved the hickory smoke burger. I was so excited to try it again so my husband & I went through the drive through. I was so disappointed with the burger. It was small & a little smashed looking with way too much overly sweet barbecue sauce. Not that good smoky flavor sauce I remember. I think there was also a little slaw on those burgers years ago but apparently no longer. I did love the crinkly fries. They were piping hot & not overly greasy. I also loved the coke. I usually don't care for them from fast food restaurants but loved the one I got here. The staff at the drive through were very nice & friendly. I would eat here again especially the fries & coke but not so sure about the burgers. I also loved the salad burgers years ago but afraid that will not be the same either. read more

This is a real working man's place to get a quick lunch. The burgers are styled after the old Minute Man restaurants. The #7 Mexican Burger with chili, cheese, and onions remains my favorite. You can get a good ribeye, t-bone, or chopped steak dinner. Catfish on Fridays. My dad eats lunch here every day for about 15 years. Just a nice working class place to grab a bite. read more

Still love black Angus. Great prices and good food. We call ahead all the time and pick it up in drive thru. Most of the time it's ready and food is good and hot. The burgers are great but the hubs and I also love the catfish dinner, big pieces of fish and it's always pipping hot. Another favorite of mine is the chicken monary. When you get a dinner plate you get a salad and a side. I get the crinkled fries but like my duster loves the baked beans( I don't care for them) and my dad gets sweet patatio so they have lots of choices. You also get bread with the dinner. Just ordered for delivery from Chef Shuttle. Excellent! Even with delivery time, the steak was warm, properly prepared and delicious. Onion rings were crispy and amazing. Baked potato was fine - not amazing, but I added my own toppings at home. Overall, a good meal for the value, even with the Chef Shuttle fees. Literally the food looked like it had been stomped or sat upon. Left several messages for Manager and Owner of both companies with no results. Very disappointed.
