The first visit was very loud and the food was slightly below average, but we gave grace since they were new at the time. The second visit, we waited about 10 minutes and no one came to take our order, so we left and assumed it may have been a staffing issue. Today we decided to give it another try. We were seated almost immediately, which was great. However, after waiting about 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our order, we left again. We were really looking forward to trying the Philly steak egg roll, lamb waffle, and chicken pot stickers, so that was disappointing. We truly want this place to succeed, but consistency in service is important. Hopefully this feedback helps, and maybe we'll try again in the future.

Highly recommend the Blacker The Berry if you're looking for a sweeter drink that doesn't skimp in the strength department. My boyfriend ordered it first, I tried his, & it was so good I ordered it for my next round. Fantastic service, nice ambiance, friendly staff. A great start (or end!) to a night out. Will include a note that the cocktails range from $10-$18, so if you're looking for cheaper drinks this is not the bar for it. 18% gratuity is added to the bill but they make that clear on the menu & checks.

Okay, so I'm back in LR giving this spot another try, and DAMN I'm happy I did. I clearly just…read moreordered the wrong thing, because this time around they knocked it out of the park! This time around I asked the girl at the counter what her favorite dish was and she said, "shrimp kabobs." I was sold. SO GLAD I LISTENED!!!! These are THE most flavorful kabobs I've ever had, and they are accompanied by some of the best rice and beans I've ever had. I was fully expecting beans and rice Mexican-style since the place is owned-operated by mi gente, but it was a more Cajun-style brand and rice. These beans and rice are so damn good. I just can't. These kabobs are perfectly seasoned with fresh lemons, tomatoes, onions, and zucchini. It's is CLEAR they make these to order, so when you get it expect a wait...that will be well worth it. Yeah, I take back my last review. You don't come to a place like this in central Arkansas and order oysters. That was dumb. This, however, is the best decision I've made this trip. Hands down.

The setup tells you everything you need to know before eating: paper towel roll on the table, hot sauce lineup, Lance saltines, and a soundtrack of Lightin' Hopkins and Son House fill the room. The chairs look like they escaped from a 1950s diner and that's how everyone likes it. The catfish is the real deal -- cornmeal-crusted, perfectly seasoned, tender inside with just the right snap on the outside. The shrimp are butterflied, large, perfectly breaded, and fried with the same care. Hush puppies that are neither greasy nor dense, which sounds simple until you realize how rarely anyone gets it right. There's a New Orleans soul to this place, and some Memphis too, but nothing precious about it. No one here is performing. Farmers, families, folks still in their work clothes. The people who cook this food grew up eating it every Sunday at grandma's table, and it shows in every basket. If mudbugs are still on the menu when you visit, don't overthink it. Order them. The Flying Fish isn't trying to be anything. That's exactly why it's everything.

She said it was one of the best cocktails she's ever had, which is very high praise coming from her. The food was just as good. We're already looking forward to coming back very soon. 10/10 experience.

Our server didn't come back until the sandwich came out so we had to wait a while between items. The club was good, a little disheveled and fell apart but it was tasty enough. I heard they had good chicken spaghetti and it's even one of the main menu items they advertise but apparently they only sell the dish on Wednesdays. I don't know, I feel like if I was the owner I'd want my most popular menu items to be available more frequently than one random day in the middle of the week. Since we couldn't get the chx spaghetti we went with the chicken fried chicken. It was smaller than I expected for the price but I thought it tasted good with a nice crunchy breading. Mac and cheese disappointed with not much cheese to speak of and could have used more seasonings. (It really didn't have a flavor.) Green beans were the best part of the meal, bursting with sharp peppery vinegar spices. My son drank the juice left in the bowl! Roll it came with was store bought and stale. No butter, and was room temperature. The server was pleasant but like the food he serves he was lacking any zip or zing. No greeting, no pleasantries. The bill was 35 dollars without tip for a club sandwich, chx fried chx plate and a Dr Pepper. More than I expected. I wanted a receipt but the server never came back after he left the card reader. We waited for him for a while, got tired and just left. Overall my daughter described our meal as standard cafeteria food. I mostly agreed. The decor is cool, with a vibe that you're outside while inside, and the story of the restaurant and its name is inspired, but the portions, presentation and price all could use some work.
