When discussing availability, I requested the earliest time Yari had available and she offered as early as 9 and 10am. Our appointment was for 10am and after sending our deposit through Zelle and receiving confirmation emails that week, Yari sent a text that she was "a few minutes late" at 10:01am. We requested an eta and did not receive a response. After waiting 20 minutes by the studio's locked doors, we made the decision to leave. I texted her why we were leaving and asked for her to return our deposit. Yari texted 36 minutes after our scheduled appointment time that she was at the studio. After a few texts back and forth, Yari said that she will send our deposit shortly. It is now almost a week later and our deposit has not been returned. I also emailed the studio's support team (support@signatureluxurytattoo.com) twice seeking resolution along with attachments of my entire text thread with Yari. The lack of professionalism and communication exhibited by both Yari and Signature Luxury Tattoo are upsetting. If the roles were reversed and a client came 36 minutes late, I understand if the appointment would be canceled altogether and not returning the deposit. In this case, the artist was 36 minutes late, making excuses, playing games by telling me she'll return my deposit, and even the studio is non responsive despite my emails asking for resolution. I hope no other client receives this kind of treatment from any business. UPDATE: It is wild how the business cannot reply to my emailS but will remove my review from Google.

The shop itself is great. Bright and clean and everyone supports the running of the business and I thought I found a place to stay with for years to come. I did nine tattoos with her and along the way and I thought I had built up a nice level of trust and respect. I thought I was a better than average tipper and did my very best to follow her rules for communicating and discussing my designs. In March I was all set to do my tenth tattoo. It was going to be a surprise to show my niece and nephew at a mid-May party. I went in for a consult and reviewed my design and gave my deposit. She mentioned she had idea(s) for the stars in my design and that night I asked her to send me some to review. (This was about two months before my appointment.) I followed up a couple of weeks later and she tells me how busy she has gotten with new customers, how much pressure she is under, but she'll see about getting me something "in a few days." I told her no worries, take a month. I just need it a couple of weeks before my appt so I can review it. Unfortunately, I never received anything from her. Ultimately I had to contact her to cancel my appointment because I didn't have the designs she promised. There were a lot of excuses, but she didn't really try to make it right or find a mutually workable solution. I'm truly saddened because I think she's a fantastic artist ( I had her tattoo her logomark on me I liked her work so much), I thought we had a really good working relationship, and I hoped this would be a long partnership. I guess she had different ideas. I wish her luck.

Yeah, that one, she basically told me come back later. Anyway, I leave. As I'm driving around the block, I stumble on Clockwork Tattoo shop and there was parking right in front. I go in, I'm greeted by a slightly tatted dude at the counter. I tell him what I need done. He says, "let me grab an artist from the back", so I sit. Two min later he comes back and says "I'm sorry, he's just finishing w a client". I sit and think to myself, "I've never been in such a professional tattoo shop". As I look around, this place is clean and decorated with art and no flash. A few framed articles and not much more, a bit odd. Not two min later a young guy comes from the back, introduces himself as Joe (turns out to be the owner), I show him some work I want to have fixed. He says "yeah, we can help you out, but I'm booked for about 2-3 months", what am I going to do at this point? I say ok and I turn back to the dude that initially greeted me and begin discussing appt dates in November. Just then the phone rings and its a cancellation for later in the week. BOOM, it's mine. I go home and begin my search online to check out their work, one piece better than the next b I go back later in the week for my appointment. Everyone at this place is amazingly down to earth and professional. I had my first session of a cover-up done and I can't wait to go back. I've been getting tattooed at least 20 years and have been to at least a dozen different shops, this place is clearly top of the charts.

As such, I am no stranger to getting tattooed and rate my experience at Clockwork as fantastic. Working with Joe was a real treat, as he is a really good person and dynamite tattoo artist. I didn't feel rushed or pandered to but I also walked into the shop with ideas in hand and was receptive to Joe's suggestions. I gave him my rough idea and he ran with it. He was enthusiastic and the entire experience was laid back and chill, it was like collaborating with a good friend who happens to be awesome at tattooing. In chatting with Joe while he was tattoo me, it was clear that he takes great pride in his profession. He has a light touch and the process, though not painless, was tolerable. I have a high pain threshold but at one point after 3 hours, my inner arm was getting alittle "zippy" which is code word for hurts like Hell. I powered through but what really left a lasting impression was that Joe apologized for the tattoo hurting and he knew it was uncomfortable. Clearly an apology was not in order as I had voluntarily paid this man good money to repeatedly jab an inky needle into the tender flesh of my inner, upper arm but it was nice to know that Joe was not completely desensitized to the discomforts of his clients. As far as the price point, I feel Clockwork's prices are very fair as Joe's work is specialized, visually stunning and top notch. If his shop were in NYC, he could command even more for his work. With a tattoo, it would not behoove you to bargain hunt as you really do get what you pay for.

I didn't even want to tip him I was so annoyed. 3 months prior, my husband paid $400 for an intricate forearm name piece (same name I got) with color. You can fit 10 of my name tattoos inside the size of his. He will return for another tattoo, I will not. That being said, the shop is clean and well decorated.
