Absolutely loved my experience here. Mike was accommodating to all of our needs and questions. There are many tattoo shops (unfortunately) that are not adhering to COVID-19 precautions and thankfully, this place is NOT one of them. Patrons are required to wear masks, there is hand sanitizer clearly available, seats are wiped down in between sessions, and social distancing is practiced. So if safety is a concern from you, I think you will feel pretty safe here. I got my ears pierced and my best friend got a tattoo. I was scared to get my third piercing but Mike hit me with a motivational quote that changed my mind! "Pain is temporary" -- loved that but also, so true right?! Outstanding. First off, the place is incredibly clean. I had Mike do my ink. While it was a straight forward calligraphy design, I appreciated his perfectionist approach to get it done perfectly. I went to Inklightened to get an Industrial and a Daith piercing. I was nervous about going to a tattoo parlor but looking at their well curated website and speaking to them over the phone helped to sooth me. I made a bit of a fool of myself when I rang the bell and knocked on the door, only to turn the door knob and find it open. The owner was nice about this and met me at the door smiling kindly. The shop itself is small, but the space is used wisely, giving it a homey feel. Well lit and inviting, the walls are covered in what I'm guessing is potential tattoo art, and the background music is trendy but not loud. The windows are covered with dark colored blinds so you're not on display to people walking by, and the seating is comfortable, encouraging you to bring a friend. Mike was the guy who pierced me. I'd previously read his bio on their website and felt comfortable with him. He spoke softly, but firmly, exuding a friendly confidence that assured me he knew what he was doing. Before the piercing began, he used tweezers to pluck the jewelry he was going to use on me from the case. I wanted a circular barbell for my Daith, but once again, he spoke firmly yet kindly, telling that I would have to have a curved barbell to allow for swelling and drainage. I looked that up online, and he was right. The actual piercings themselves happened quickly. He used 3 different needles, throwing each away after a single use, and then he changed his gloves every time he left the room to get a new piece of jewelry. Overall, I had a WONDERFUL experience!!! I took a chance on going to this shop based on the reviews posted here. I wanted to get a daith piercing. I went on a Sunday afternoon. The place was clean and welcoming...no loud music and a bunch of people just hanging around. Max was courteous, informative & professional. The process was painful but he was so smooth and reassuring, that I got a second one (the tragus). Their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend him and might even go back for another one soon. I was nervous and he was so calm, thorough, and professional that I didn't feel a thing . My appointment was at 12, and I arrived a few min early to find that he was already set up and ready for me (definitely not the norm in most shops I've been in). Upon entrance, the shop appeared clean and staff were welcoming. Unfortunately, the piercer was not prepared to set up a proper station to pierce customers. The piercer had to stop tattooing another client to pierce two of my friends and constantly stepped out of the room to obtain piercing equipment. After piercing my first friend, he didn't change his gloves when picking up the jewelry and preparing the station for my second friend to get pierced. When I pointed this out to the piercer and requested that he not only change his gloves but to get a new set jewelry, he became defensive as evidenced by his response and tone of voice. The piercer stated, "I used alcohol to spray the jewelry." Despite his response, I requested that he change his gloves and obtain new jewelry. The piercer did so reluctantly, but returned with the new set of jewelry in his BARE hands. In my opinion, this was extremely unprofessional. I've gotten piercings done for years and have never seen this type of carelessness. I go to Graceland Tattoo to get all my piercings and have received impeccable service; a true model of professionalism to say the least. Not only do piercers wash their hands before placing gloves on, but also change gloves after sterilizing and setting up the station, and before opening SEALED packages of jewelry. Alcohol DOES NOT assure complete sterilization, especially when wearing the SAME gloves used on another person, nor does it work when handling jewelry with BARE hands. Just because professionalism has died, doesn't mean you have to let it die with you. I hope others are fortunate enough not have a similar experience as my friends and I had. My friends were pretty skeeved out after this. read more

Mike was great! I'm a little bit of a cry baby so getting a septum piercing done was hard for me to go trough it haha..I wanted someone professional and to get it done as quickly as possible. He was very courteous and explained know the whole process was going to go. He let my husband in the same room which helped me more lol i was done in no time! Went in for some piercing/re-piercing help and, got wonderful service. They explained to me what in the world was going on with my piercing, that indeed, using fake jewelry hadn't helped me one bit but, that my piercing was still salvageable! I had a piercing (one of a stacked set in my ear) sink below the skin because I snagged the back with my shirt; and he was able to get it back out and swapped the piercing for a longer stud until it finishes healing. The first time I came here, I got two tragus piercings. Each ear was $40 and it includes jewelry. I lost one of my earrings so I had to come back and get a new one. They gave me a new earring and placed the new one in my ear for me. Everything was $20. They are very clean and hospitable. read more

Bomb place. Best tattoo I've ever gotten AND experience. Got a walk-in tat after an emotional day and was taken right in by Maximiliano (Max to others). I have two other tats, one from Euphoria Ink and one from Physical Graffiti. He took me right in, there was a computer in his tattooing room and he sketched it for me there,listening to my story and what I wanted, printed it, and set up. He REALLY took the time to place it just right after he heard how annoyed with my other tattoos I was, and how I got them. I get the feeling tho that that is just how he is, like even asking me to confirm everything was spelled correctly even tho it was literally SIMPLE spelling--not a name or anything. He used these awesome new plastic looking electric needles? Clearly brand new tat tech, state of the art. He was gentle and fast and invited me to come back in a month if I felt like I wanted any touch-up or darkening of the lettering (cause I got a light color). The tattoo was a memorial piece for a dear friend who passed. He couldn't have been more respectful. Every other tat place I went to treated me like a last minute buck they could make and didn't give a shit about me. I'm going to Max from now on. Period. read more

So I got my first everrrr piercing from Inklightened and it was an absolutely amazing experience! I couldn't have picked a better place to get it done. Max did my nipple piercings and he did a spectacular job! I was beyond nervous for my first piercing and he did a great job calming me down and making me feel comfortable. I went in yesterday for my septum piercing, and my friend got a small tattoo on her leg. Max (who pierced me, also the owner & tattoo artist) and Mike (who did her tat) were both super friendly and professional, the place was very clean and they opened tools in front of you. The first time piercing, the jewelry was being fussy and wouldn't push through. I got a bit dizzy because I didn't eat and they were so accommodating- gave me water and candy to raise my sugar levels. Max repierced it, for FREE, and was genuinely sorry for the issue (although I could tell he was experienced, I have a very narrow nose and little space to work with). Mike also stood on the side of me to make sure I didn't fall over, and to assist Max. The tattoo my friend got was a little elephant with splashes of watercolor and it came out amazing, I was so jealous. The whole time we talked it felt like we'd been going there for years.
