This place was recommended to me by a friend. I don't frequent Boca Raton, but after trying this place out, I cannot wait to come back!!!! It was incredibly delicious, the ambiance was clean and cozy, and the service was top notch. It was my first time, and the manager was kind enough to come and talk to me to see how I was enjoying my food and even brought me a fresh scone to try for free! The menu has so many wonderful options, and I had such a hard time deciding because everything seemed amazing but decided on the Denver Skillet and it was cooked and prepared to perfection. It exceeded my expectations and left me wanting more. I now know why the place is known for their Skillets! Great food, great service, what more can I say? We stopped in for a family breakfast and really enjoyed it. Amongst the table we had a couple different skillets. Everyone said their food was amazing and eggs cooked perfectly. I had the banana pancakes with scrambled eggs and asked to have smoked salmon instead of meat. The salmon was really good and fresh. I love Skillets! It's a mini Cracker Barrel. So many options especially for breakfast. I love the fact that they have stone ground pancakes for individuals who do not like white flour. I went here with a group of people for lunch - it reminds me of iHop. I ended up ordering a small Greek salad - it did not come with feta cheese but Saganaki cheese. It is a Greek and Turkish cheese made of sheep's milk, cow milk, goat milk or a combination and it is used to prepare saganaki. They aim to be a country diner that's not in the country based upon their decor, menu and soundtrack. Everyone was pleasant and provided good service. Since they offer a pot of coffee for your table, the waitress doesn't need to pop in several times during your visit. She did check to see if the food was to our satisfaction, as did the manager. My only issue was she started clearing the table before while I was still eating, my wife stopped her by saying she wasn't done. The place wasn't packed, so it wasn't as if they needed the table. Perhaps it's habit from handling rushes? The food was good, but there are a few notes just to be cognizant of. The potato casserole was as if a hash brown and a loaded baked potato had a baby. It's good, but for my preference I'd rather a more traditional hash brown. I do not mention it to put you off that menu item, just so know what to expect. Their sausage gravy was pretty good, but I like mine with a bit more pepper. It had a very creamy texture. The house made Corned Beef Hash had a slightly, almost creamy potato onion base to it. The shredded corned beef mixed with it offers a substantial meatiness to the dish. The creaminess aspect made me contemplate it after the first bite, but they sear it on the flattop to give it an almost vaca frita treatment, which made it for me. We'll return again, hopefully we won't need to address the removal of dishes until we are all finished eating. Definitely give it a shot! read more

I'm always seeking out breakfast/lunch spots here in South Florida. It is the closest thing to a "coffee-shop" venue like the ones I frequented growing up on Long Island. Skillets menu fit the criteria. Plenty of breakfast items reminiscent of short order and a slew of salad/sandwich items. Opting for a comfortable and roomy booth, we sat in the way back, near their Pioneer room, which probably can be used as a private area (good for breakfast meetings or a fun kid birthday party). The restaurant is large, with a countertop, booth, and inside and outside seating. There is a large, welcoming waitstaff, and we were lucky enough to get Jacob as our server. Jacob is a Boca local who used to work at Ben's Deli but likes it here because he loves the Skillets menu. I get it. Jacob was friendly and knowledgeable and anticipated our needs. A full pot of medium roast, piping hot coffee was offered and accepted. He also offered us some freshly squeezed orange juice or apple cider; maybe next time, we will take him up on that. Skillets has a very large menu. I was vacillating between the homemade, daily-made blintze or pancakes. I went with the Panegger, which is one exceptionally flavorful pancake, two eggs ( I had my favorite; perfectly cooked, over-medium with the whites fully cooked and the yolks runny), one slice of Oh-My-God thick-cut bacon (chewy and crispy just the way I like it) and an extra order of an English muffin. There is a teeny side of fruit that came with the Panegger, which was more garnish than anything else, but I must shout out that the one piece of pineapple, three grapes, and half a strawberry were standout delicious. Is the chef rejecting bad-tasting fruit because the fruit I've been buying lately at my local market isn't this good? The syrup came warm. Thumbs up for that! My mom had a two egg, onion, and Swiss omelet, which seemed way more gigantic than two eggs, a side of hash browns that could use a bit more time on the flattop to get well done and crispy, and a legit biscuit with dare I say better-than-usual butter pat? Maybe my tastebuds were on hyper, but I don't usually think about the butter pat. I swear it was that good slathered on my muffin. The restaurant is in the Garden Shoppes off West Palmetto and Powerline. It is perhaps one of my least favorite parking lots in the area with no rhyme or reason, twists, turns, and a weird ingress and egress. It's a parking free-for-all, so be mindful. Skillets, after one visit, is worth the bad parking lot. I'll pay extra attention and figure it out. I will go back tomorrow. read more

First time at this restaurant. It's been very difficult finding good gluten free breakfast in Boca Raton as well as in South Florida. This establishment I found on Google Maps while doing a random search. I called ahead of time to make sure it wasn't too busy as I was extremely hungry. The lady who answered was extremely pleasant and helpful. I arrived and was quickly seated. The receipt had Quinn J as our server. I hope that was right because he was absolutely amazing. He came over to offer a beverage. I asked him questions about gluten free options and he was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. It's very rare to find servers who are knowledgeable in the gluten free realm. Most equate gluten free to vegan. Once my boyfriend arrived, he came back to take our order. Rarely do I find gluten free pancakes at breakfast spots so of course I decided on that with blueberries. The order came with 2 eggs and chicken apple sausage. The pancakes were humongous!! They were moist and absolutely splendid. You would never even know they're gluten free. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the sausage grilled to perfection. Usually I don't like any form of sausage but these were very tasty. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this place was. The bathrooms were also clean. Overall, The service, the knowledge of our server, the food itself, the price! This place is cute, a real hometown breakfast spot vibe. Staff is friendly and we sat next to some older gentlemen playing cards so it was a super wholesome morning. Started with a OJ served in an iced mug, made it even more delicious. Ordered the Border Burrito without jalapeños because I wasn't feeling the spicy vibe in the AM. In summary, this was by far the worst dining experience I've had in a very long time. We were a party of 13 (4 of which were small children) on Father's Day last weekend. When we called ahead, a server said they took reservations (upon arriving, were told they do not actually take reservations but will put some tables together for us). They then put us in a sauna of a room in the back that despite requests never got any colder, we ordered the whole table's food and after waiting AN HOUR for that food, the manager came out with a nasty attitude and said we're very busy it's a holiday so be patient. We were very nice despite the excessive wait for eggs and pancakes, and asked for at least the kids' food (cranky toddlers at this point) to be brought out so at the very least our children could eat. Eventually, out of the 13 people at our table, 5 people (including the two smallest children) never even got their meals. The other meals were brought out sporadically, one or two here and there every ten minutes or so, nearly two hours after we arrived. Upon requesting to speak to the manager again, we were told in no pleasant manner they're very busy and to be patient. By that point, we noticed other tables complaining, people walking out, people complaining, and people upset with the quality of their food. The entire place was a train wreck. The manager honestly should've shut down the restaurant and served everyone who was there, telling new customers (a line was waiting when we left) that they cannot accommodate any more parties. We told a few people waiting as we were leaving (with our screaming and crying children) about our experience and most left. WE LEFT AFTER TWO HOURS WITHOUT EATING A SINGLE THING. My children were miserable, cranky, and starving. The worst Father's Day experience. Service In addition to the egregious events above, our waters remained empty. No coffee refills were provided. Nobody asked if we wanted anything they could bring quickly (maybe eggs or pancakes for the kids?) Food No clue. Didn't eat a thing. Awful experience. Truly the worst. read more

Just awful - I gave skillets two solid tries before writing this but it greatly disappointed both times. The waitresses are pleasant enough but when the food is this bad, one just has to seek other options for breakfast. The ironic thing is that the skillet meals - obviously the namesake of this franchise - are the worst skillets I've ever tasted by far. Horrible experience! Meals took 1 1/2 hours to start arriving, were incomplete, totally unappetizing (crusted hollandaise and black avocado) and cold.
